Lethal injection is the method used in most animal shelters, and used on the most despicable criminals whom the judge orders to be put down like an animal. In terms of execution methods, the guidance of Imperial law is that there are three points sought in a method of execution

1. The method must be designed to kill quickly, and not designed to cause an undue amount of pain, insofar as possible. The condemned is to be protected from cruel and unusual treatment as they die.
2. The body of the condemned should not be divided into clear parts, nor be rendered unrecognizable. The condemned is entitled to a respectful treatment of their body after death.
3. The method should not be chemical in nature, as one would use to euthanize an animal. When a human being is condemned to death for penitentary purposes, they should neither suffer a loss of their sense of humanity by being compared to an animal in irrationality, nor have their opportunity for reflection tainted by comparison to an innocent, aged animal being spared suffering.

The execution method was the Guillotine, hanging was used to in the last executions post ww2.

Gandoor formally abolished capital punishment in 2003, following a referendum which saw 86% voting in favour of abolishing the practice in our nation.

The death sentence was the maximum sentence that could be levied for the crimes of murder or treason, although only one individual in the history of the Democratic Republic was ever convicted and executed for treason (Alexander Winters, executed in 1964 after being found guilty of treason and sentenced to death for attempting to give state secrets to Soviet spies in 1961).

The last execution to occur in our nation was in 1997, when serial killer Minoru Takino was hanged for having murdered 23 people between 1984 and 1987.

All executions in the Democratic Republic were carried out via hanging.

At the time of its abolishment, there were three individuals on death row. All three had their sentences automatically commuted to 75 years imprisonment - which became the new maximum sentence after the abolition of the death penalty.
