Methods of execution: In this section , please specify if executions are public or private.
Firing Squad [Y/N] - Public, not conducted by a squad but a single executioner with a handgun to the back of the head.
Hanging [Y] - Public, two variants. One drops the convict to break their neck with the rope, one elevates the convict to cause them to asphyxiate.
Lynching [N] - Executions are carried out by Imperial personnel, whether judicial or extrajudicial. Lynching is not one of these methods.
Beheading [Y] - Conducted publicly by executioner with a sword.
Skinning alive [Y] - Public and rare. Few criminals are flayed any more, with the punishment reserved for crimes such as attempted murder, successful murder, or rape of an Imperial family member.
Crucifixion [Y] - Public and rare. Crucifixion was common during the Ephyral invasions of Europe, where captured priests, bishops and other clergy and devout peoples would be crucified to mock their supposed saviour. The bodies would be desecrated post-death to add further insult. Though Christianity is technically heresy in the empire, few Christians are persecuted due to their compliance to Imperial law, thus crucifixions are rare.
Lethal injection [N] - Not deemed useful for the intention of execution.
Electric chair [N] - See above.
Starvation [Y/N] - Technically this is part of a crucifixion punishment, with the victim slowly starving to death as well as dehydrating. As for being sentenced to death by starvation, there have been no accounts of this for at least three hundred years.
Torture [Y/N] - Most Ephyral execution methods are considered torturous, but as for being explicitly tortured to death by sentencing, this has never happened.
Fight to death [Y] - Convicts are often sentenced to death in the arena, to fight to the death or simply just die before the watching crowds.
Drowning [N] - Cannot be made public enough to meet the purpose of execution.
Burn until death [Y] - One of the more common punishments for standard heresy. It is especially favoured to utilise burning at the stake on Muslims, as it is decreed that Muslims should be buried and not burnt, thus by destroying the body with fire, the Ephyral succeed in denying the Muslim passage to their afterlife. This can be considered a heresy punishment not itself religious, as it isn't uncommon for clerics and preachers of Islam to meet death as a sacrifice to the Ephyral gods, rather than simply being executed for heresy.
Suffocation [N] - Discounting asphyxiation by hanging, this is not used.
Eaten alive [Y/N] - Used to be a common punishment, but not anymore.
Molten Throne [?] - I googled this and got no results by way of execution method. I honestly have no idea what this is.
