To all the nations of the world(s),

The United Principalities would like to announce it's official public Questions and Answers.
Infernia is a federation of hereditary absolute monarchies; made up of the seven princes of Superbia, Avaritia, Luxuria, Invidia, Gula, Ira, and Acedia.
Infernians will always fight and die for libertine, and will respect your right to revelry, debauchery, and party.
And we understand that many have a misunderstanding with the UPI, and we'd like to clear those up.

"Ukraine, and it's culture, dœsn't exactly contradict Infernian interests, or our culture. But we would support the unification of Byelorussia, Russia, and Ukraine into a pan-slavic 'Vostoslavia'."

What dœs your flag mean?

"The five bands represent the first five elements; air, earth, fire, water, and æther. Archaic, yes, but it serves to show how much we've progresses scientifically. The black bands represent death, a prevalent concept in Infernian culture, hence why they are thicker. The red represents life, revelry, and lechery. And the white represents birth."

"Trying not to give away too much; I can say that we do have an active Biological Weapons Programme with a multitude of viruses genetically altered to resist heat, cold, and antibiotics, but we don't have anything so disastrous as to compare with a mutagenic or zombie agent. The purpose of a biological weapon is to eliminate an enemy's population while leaving infrastructure intact, mutant monsters or zombies achieve neither."

On the Primitive Inhabitants of Infernia

Greetings,

I am Valerie Antoniette Margaret Poinetta, of the Imperial Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Assistant to the Chief Ambassador of the Imperial Embassy in Infernia,

It seems that the first peoples of Infernia have died out, long before the Coelians arrived and set up penal prisons upon seeing that there are no inhabitants; if there were surviving few, the seven princedoms would not emerge, Their disappearance may be probably due to some unknown geophysical phenomenon. Why is it that these first inhabitants would not survive, even to this day?

"It is entirely plausible to assume native peoples would hinder or halt the establishment of one or more principalities; the Cœlian Crown wanted to spread the Church of Cœlia, and would have most likely started a more traditional trade colony.

As to the question proper; archæological evidence shows that humans inhabited the archipelago some four thousand years ago, about two thousand years ago a natural disaster such as an earthquake, tsunami, hurricane, volcanic eruption, or a combination of all four caused the imminent downfall of the original civilization. They did not die out instantly, and we believe the natives resorted to cannibalism in an effort to restabilize themselves. In the end, unfortunately, the native peoples of Infernia could not sustain themselves long enough for the geography to recover from disaster."

(1) OOC: Initially, when I created this thread, I had seen your ridiculous, kendrick-themed questions of Lamerika's question thread and others. I thought it might be fun to perhaps challenge you. The offer still stands.

(2) "Officially, with established embassies, relations are good and Kannadrickenium is often a popular tourist destination of Infernians. As a leader; Anna Kendrick is well regarded amongst the Federal Supreme Council."

If the primitive humans have not survived such natural disasters, then what will become? I should have considered tracing their origins to some ancient civilization.

(OOC: So sorry, I honestly did not see your question until now. Great question none the less.)

"Much like the Inferno is seen as an insulting term for the nation itself, 'Infernal' as a demonym would be a disservice to Infernian citizens and Infernian culture in general. Much of these derogatory terms come from a confusion of the Latin Inferus , meaning southeast, and similar such fiery adjectives."

"Nonhumans can de divided into two categories. Inhumans; such as Vampyres and Kemonomimi, and Subhumans; including Spectres and outright aliens.

Vampyres in particular are ranked relatively high. Although Vampyres were once human, require humans for sustenance, and are describable as both alive and dead. Those factors contribute to the state-sponsored prosecution of Vampyres and other Inhumans."

"Infernian, a Latin based language, is the most spoken language in Infernia. Acedia is the only principality to have it's own dialect, a romance language mainly spoken in Acedia. Gothican is a Germanic language widely used in Gula. And Steamspeak is a vulgar tongue used, ironically, pœtically in Ira.

We are actively working to teach more Slavic, Arabic, and Asiatic languages in Infernian Schools."
