How long has alcohol been restricted in your nation? Since the formation of the Eriaroon Eugenic Republic, although the member nations that created it had already banned it previously.
Is alcohol restricted for legal, cultural or religious reasons? Legal and cultural reasons primarily. It is seen as a toxic substance (this applies to all psychoactives used in non-medicinal setting excluding chemical weapons)
Is public opinion on alcohol restriction positive or negative? Positive.
Are all forms of alcohol illegal, or just particular ones? All forms are prohibited for consumption purposes (they can be used for other purposes such as industrial purposes, and this assumes we are talking about ethanol)
What is the penalty for producing illicit alcohol, if any? Purging (execution)
What is the penalty for possessing alcohol, if any? Rehabilitation. If that fails, purging. The alcohol will be seized and analysed.
What is the penalty for consuming alcohol / drunkenness, if any? Rehabilitation. If that fails, purging.

What is the legal drinking age in your nation? 18 for purchase is pretty standard in most states, although two states have a lower age at 16. Minors younger than the legal age can still drink with parental approval and under parental supervision.
Does your nation have a major "drinking culture"? Let's just say that our drinking culture is rather, well, colourful.
What is the average alcohol consumption of your citizens? Alcohol consumption, in litres, per capita is roughly 12.3. This is roughly equivalent to everyone in the country downing two beers a day every single day.
What is the most popular form of alcohol in your nation? Spirits (especially rice-based, but also including vodka, gin, rum, whisky, etc.) are the most popular, accounting for roughly 38.8% of alcohol consumption from the above figure. We also have some breweries and wineries, but consumption of beer and wine only account for 28% and 23.8% of consumption, respectively.
Does your nation produce any particular alcohol(s) for which it is famous? Beichu, a spirit often made from millet, is our most popular alcoholic export.
Is alcohol production / import / export a major part of your nation's GDP? I wouldn't call 0.7% of the GDP (roughly US$44 billion) a major part of it.
Are alcohol-related crimes or social issues a problem in your nation? Not particularly.
Is alcoholism a problem in your nation? Not from a societal standpoint, although recent research indicates that upwards of 10% of Pomorans may have experienced alcohol dependency at some point in their lives.

What is the legal drinking age in your nation?
We don't discriminate on the basis of age.

Does your nation have a major "drinking culture"?
Not really.

What is the average alcohol consumption of your citizens?
We don't know.

What is the most popular form of alcohol in your nation?
Rum, distilled locally from sugar cane. If you order whiskey in a bar you're likely to get whiskey-flavoured rum. It's also likely to still be warm from the still. Don't even ask for ice in Fatatatutti.

Does your nation produce any particular alcohol(s) for which it is famous?
We produce multi-coloured rums, from colourless to black, with various shades of amber in between. Nobody is quite sure how the Red Rim is made but it's pretty certain that the green rum made for St. Patrick's day is dyed.

Is alcohol production / import / export a major part of your nation's GDP?
Not really.

Are alcohol-related crimes or social issues a problem in your nation?
No.

Is alcoholism a problem in your nation?
No.

Is alcoholism a problem in your nation? Not really.
Uses certain NS stats.

Atlantis is an MT nation that is the third richest country in the world, behind only China and the United States. It is closer to the USA, UK, Italy and Spain (in that order, though Italy and Spain is probably tied) culturally than it is Greece. It is also a naval power.

And no, Atlantis is not underwater: It has a land area around the size of France.

Pros: Classical liberalism, democracy, the West, Brexit, Viktor Orban, free education, strong military
Cons: Authoritarianism, fascism, communism, multiculturalism, Islamism

What is the legal drinking age in your nation? There is no limit.
Does your nation have a major "drinking culture"? No.
What is the average alcohol consumption of your citizens? The average is none. Alcohol is considered an emergency fuel only. Someone who has nothing better for fuel and is stuck on some backward planet may therefore end up drinking 100 (oil-sized) barrels of the stuff, raided from a distillery or made in a still before someone comes for him - but he will be wishing he had Energon instead all through the experience!
What is the most popular form of alcohol in your nation? Pure ethanol.
Does your nation produce any particular alcohol(s) for which it is famous? Crystal Clear Cybertronian Vodka. It is a small brand, but has gained a cult following after various biological tourists discovered it. We have not told them that we typically use the stuff as an industrial solvent instead of to drink, or that for us, it's DIRT cheap. That said, it is indeed pure and just as biocompatible as the stuff made from grains or potatoes. (Which is to say, NOT! We can't understand why biologicals want to purposely induce intoxication, which is an error state, but hey. Where someone's buying, we'll sell...)
Is alcohol production / import / export a major part of your nation's GDP? No.
Are alcohol-related crimes or social issues a problem in your nation? No. Even drunk biologicals don't want to mess with 10-ton war robots unless they want to win a Darwin.
Is alcoholism a problem in your nation? No. Robots gain no special feelings from alcohol or any other things that are intoxicating to biologicals. We are also averse to sensations that indicate problems with our sensors or input processing systems (such as many of the feelings associated with the buzz of alcohol), so even simulations of alcohol effects are non-starters. As for alcoholic biologicals, they are tourists and go home too soon to cause problems for us. We happily sell them our fast-evaporating, low-residue solvent Crystal Clear Cybertronian Vodka at vastly inflated prices while they're here.

What is the legal drinking age in your nation?: 20

Does your nation have a major "drinking culture"?: There isn't a major drinking culture, but there is a slight alleyway mentality to it since most of the alcohol is produced in homemade stills. There's even an entire underground alcohol market that developed on its own, but the people running the colony tolerate it to maintain morale.

What is the average alcohol consumption of your citizens?: A glass or two every day.

What is the most popular form of alcohol in your nation?: The most popular type is a home brewed version called Lunar Respite. Some alcohol is imported, but it's so expensive that people usually consume LR instead.

Does your nation produce any particular alcohol(s) for which it is famous?: No.

Is alcohol production / import / export a major part of your nation's GDP?: No.

Are alcohol-related crimes or social issues a problem in your nation?: No. The people planning out the colony had been concerned about alcoholism skyrocketing due to the stressful conditions on the Moon, but their fears were worse than the reality.

Is alcoholism a problem in your nation?: No.

What is the legal drinking age in your nation?
As soon as one is activated. Being a cyborg who's built rather than born and raised has it's perks.
Does your nation have a major "drinking culture"?
Not really. While many Sidhae do drink, and quite a few sometimes drink excessively, the consumption of any intoxicants is generally viewed negatively by society, drunkenness being strongly disapproved.
What is the average alcohol consumption of your citizens?
Nobody has ever compiled such statistics Imperium-wide, but an educated guess would be that the average Sidh actually drinks more than the average human, if only because it takes almost double the amount of alcohol to produce the same effect in a Sidh as it would in a human.
What is the most popular form of alcohol in your nation?
Hard liquors. Beer, cider and most other fermented beverages of low alcohol content aren't even considered proper alcohol in Sidh society, since it would take a Sidh to drink a ludicrous amount of them to get intoxicated. Hence Sidhae prefer drinks the strength of wine and above for recreational drinking, since it's at least practically possible to catch a buzz before filling one's stomach to the point of nausea.
Does your nation produce any particular alcohol(s) for which it is famous?
Amasec (a sweet brandy-like liquor) and Qadessian (a type of whiskey) are the more reputed sorts. By far the most notorious, however, is Victory - a cheap synthetic swill made of industrial grade ethanol, a bottle of which is reputed to be capable of landing anything smaller than a blue whale in the drunk tank, and also said to be a decent rocket fuel.
Is alcohol production / import / export a major part of your nation's GDP?
Not really. Most alcohol produced throughout the Imperium is used for industrial applications, only a small portion being consumed as spirited drinks.
Are alcohol-related crimes or social issues a problem in your nation?
Not significantly. Sidh society has a rather low tolerance for any improper and un-Sidh behaviour, so any drunk miscreant can in the very least look forward to a good beating at the hands of angered fellow citizens, followed by another at the hands of Urban Security. More serious offenses committed while drunk will likely result in one being forcibly chem-coded in addition to the regular penal sentence.
Is alcoholism a problem in your nation?
Not really, though it is also not unheard of. A Sidh demonstrating signs of substance addiction that begins to impair the performance of his duties is usually subject to compulsory chem-coding, a treatment that alters the nerve receptors affected by the abused substance to produce an extremely adverse rather than pleasurable effect. A chem-coded addict becomes violently ill upon using the substance he's been chem-coded against, suffering from extreme nausea and violent spasms, those so treated likening the feeling to being near death. The chem-coding can be applied for specific substances, or broad substance classes, and usually is effective for several years, more than enough for the subject to break the habit permanently. Relapses into alcoholism or other addictions can result in permanent chem-coding on all intoxicating substances, effectively forcing one into teetotalism, or more often than not result in being stripped of one's Sidh status, deaugmented and banished - someone too weak-willed to resist the temptations of intoxication after being cured once is quite obviously unfit to be a Sidh, admitting such an individual into Sidh society being a mistake that must be rectified before one's vice and weakness infects others.
Freedom doesn't mean being able to do as one please, but rather not to do as one doesn't please.

A fool sees religion as the truth. A smart man sees religion as a lie. A ruler sees religion as a useful tool.

The more God in one's mouth, the less in one's heart.
