911. For emergencies.
110. For police in non-emergencies.

112 and 119 redirect to 911.
311 redirect to 110.

Unfortunately, the telephone is not yet in widespread use. However, the few urban centres throughout the nation have adopted the "111" standard number.

The Fostorian emergency number is 9999. There is another, 8888, but this is unreachable by most phones, as it is a direct hotline to the Imperial Police reserved for both 9999 dispatchers and government officials. It is used to patch through calls about hostage situations, terrorist attacks, and sensitive government information.

What's a telephone?

Every town and village has a bell. In an emergency, you ring the bell to warn others or alert the police.

Using the same three numbers in a row directs immediately to the emergency services, while there are various phone numbers for multitudes of organizations for non-emergencies

Since February 12, 1971, the emergency telephone number for the People's Republic of Zhouran is 1-1-1 for emergency police and fire services from the Public Security Corps (gendarmerie service branch of the Zhouranese People's Army), 2-2-2 for emergency ambulance services, and 3-3-3 for emergency services from the Ministry of National Emergency, as well as 4-4-1 for non-emergency services from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and 4-4-2 for non-emergency services from the Ministry of National Emergency. Referred to by its official name National Emergency Services Telecommunications Network, the nation's emergency telephone number is managed and overseen by both the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of National Emergency.

Prior to the creation of the National Emergency Services Telecommunications Network, police and fire services from the Public Security Corps had many phone numbers, one for each local contingent, while ambulance services had one for each local unit.

999, 911 and 112 all connect to emergency services. The difference is, 999 responds initially in Yannian, 911 in English, and 112 in two or three of the following: Chinese, Hindi, German, French, Arabic, Spanish, Russian, Italian, Greek, Japanese, Portuguese and Scandinavian.
Yannia's nation page contains an error. The population should be in millions, not in billions.
