There is no name attributed to it but many believe there are 3 rival forces in power. The "Force of Grace" which is an entity associated with concepts such as perfection, elegance, beauty, order, harmony, utopia, paradise. The "Force of Abomination" which is an entity associated with imperfection, grittiness, ugliness, grimness, savagery, dystopia, hell. And the "Force of None" which is an impartial entity that stands in the middle. The belief is that it is the task of our Empire to challenge and defeat the forces of Abomination and None, leaving the Force of Grace as the sole power in the cosmos, ushering it into complete perfection.

Kazumi no Michi (かずみの道 Kazumi no Michi lit. "Path of Kazumi"), the religion of the Empire of Pilazzio and territories. The worship centers around the Goddess Kazumi Teikoku no Otome or "Kazumi the Heavenly Maiden" who has her origins tracing back to the Middle Ages in the Principality of Pilazzio and founded by Giotto Satori.

Practices and Beliefs

Kazumi Teikoku no Otome taught people to work together in harmony and peace through charitable and educational work. Preaching the name of Kazumi Teikoku no Otome is important for the adherents and also singing is widely considered respectful.

System of Religion

The system of Kazumi no Michi is monotheistic and has elements of saint worship.

Origins
The worship centers around the Goddess Kazumi Teikoku no Otome or "Kazumi the Heavenly Maiden" who has her origins tracing back to the Middle Ages in the Principality of Pilazzio and founded by Giotto Takamasa. One day Giotto Takamasa was near death and he went to a pool and a tear rolled down his face into the water. Then suddenly Kazumi appeared and gave him milk and rice she told him to spread the word of her kindness and build temples and preaching.

Afterlife

Life after death is incomprehensible to the living, although minor sects say the afterlife is awarding to those who are pure at heart. The afterlife can not be reached by living humans.

Principles

In general, Kazumi no Michi is focused on honoring ancestors, not indulging in personal wealth, and to have freedom from corruption, evil, lust, and other unclean thoughts.

On a personal level, people focus on the welfare of others and health, avoiding earthly delights and selfish behavior. The reduction of physical desires is commonplace and as well as giving back to the community.

Ethics
Good people are expected to be loving and caring towards each other and not show any animosity. Evil is defined as despair, envy, and malice. The forbidden practices are forcing outsiders to convert, worshipping evil spirits, and renouncing faith through violence.

The Spirit World

The spirit world includes benevolent angelic beings, angry ghosts, and demonic possession. Also average person avoids any demonic entities, and sometimes greatly fears them. The Great Akuma is the adversary to the Goddess Kazumi Teikoku no Otome and sometimes fight each other through words.

We don't have an official religion, of course, but 29.5% of our people believe in Church of the Divines

"Yet the wicked and foolish are not doomed, for in their infinite mercies, the Nine have said, "Repent, and do Good Works, and the Fountains of Grace shall once more spill forth upon you." — The Ten Commands of the Dotenkirken

The Church of the Divines is the most popular religion in Pilarcraft. having a shared origin between the Men and Alfe (that each claim responsibility for). The Church is a pantheon of Nine gods, normally called 'Divines' or Marpat, who have since long ago been worshiped by the majority of Pilartics. Before the Confederal Alliance, during and even long before The Grov Empire, The Church of the Divines was the absolute state religion, with worship of other religions barely tolerated at best and violently punished at worst.

It is not exactly clear whether or not the Nine exist (since one of them does, and actually lives in Pilarcraft himself), but the majority of its believers have long since dropped non-secular worship of their gods, with only a few factions wanting to reestablish the Church as State religion.

The Nine are as followed:
  1. Dotlev
God of natural cycles, particularly Life and Death (hence his name literally meaning God of life), Dotlev is more popular among the man races, and is actually worshipped as a Totem in the Totemic Religion.
  2. Jefre
Goddess of Beauty, art, and carnal love, Jefre is popular among many worshippers (and has the highest number of non-worshiping followers in Pilarcraft) and has various cults dedicated to her all over Pilarcraft.
  3. Kenart
Goddess of nature, rain, wind, and the moon, Kenart is worshiped by many, and is actually worshipped as a Totem in the Totemic Religion. An Unofficial motto of the Unitary Navy is "With Kenart's mercy".
  4. Mara
Goddess of motherhood, love, compassion, and marriage, Many marriages were held in her churches (or overseen by her priests), and even now in the more rural areas, people leave her offerings for a successful married life.
  5. Stun
God of Mercy, Law, and Righteousness, Stun is actually an unpopular god among the population, due to the dark history of his Vigil causing mass suffering on many Minoren.
  6. Talos
God of Heroes, war, Justice, and a symbol of human hope, the mythical talos was a war hero that was turned into a god after death (there are various stories that explain he achieved godhead before death). Being the only mortal and man to achieve godhood, Talos is hated by the Alfe, particularly Alfemar, and beloved by men.
  7. Tesun
God of work, commerce, and wealth, Tesun is normally considered god of business, and is worshipped by many workers and small-time vendors.
  8. Yulian
God of logic, wisdom, and the arts of magic, Yulianic temples have, for long since, acted as places of education and learning for people without any better options, and many of them get funding and help to teach people.
  9. Yurel
Chief of the Pantheon of Nine, normally depicted as a dragon. Worshiped as The Sun by the Alfe worshippers and as God of Truth by the Man worshippers.

45% of the population are Protestant Christians, with the largest denominations listed below;
The second largest religious denomination is Roman Catholic. Roman Catholics make up about 15% of the population. Other large religious denominations include Buddhism, Islam, Mormonism, and Judaism.

A large portion of churches in the nation are dominated by a single ethnic/cultural group. For example, Dutch Protestants and Lutherans are almost entirely Dutch-speaking, with a great number of Lutherans being descended from German and Belgian settlers. Naturally, almost all Anglicans are descended from Anglo-Celtic settlers from the British Isles, with a majority of Catholics (with most Anglo-Celtic Catholics being Irish or Scottish), as well as a majority of Baptists, Presbyterians, Methodists, and Latter-day Saints being descended from the British as well.

Buddhists are almost entirely ethnically Chinese, and Muslims are almost entirely Indonesian, Malaysian, or Lebanese. Like other Pacific nations, there is also a great deal of Pacific Islander influence within the LDS church since the first Mormon missionaries arrived in the Islands. It's not particularly known why the LDS church appeals to the Pacific Islander population so much, but the correlation is too large to be ignored.

*The term Other Lutheran is used to distinguish Dutch Protestants and Lutherans who are not members of the Dutch Protestant church.
