Outside of our nation's two official languages (English & Balkvlain), French is the most widely spoken due to the close proximity to other French-speaking nations. In fact, we even had one President who's first language was French and learned English as a second language.

Other foreign languages spoken in the country are:
Bislama
Fijian
Fijian Hindi
Malay
Maori
Nauruan
Niuean
Tok Pisin
Tokelauan
Tongan

Of these, only Fijian Hindi and Malay do not use the Latin Alphabet, so it unheard of to see a sign written in both Latin script and either Devanagari script or Arabic script.

One of our official languages, Dutch, is linguistically foreign to Hindia Belanda but nearly everyone in the country speaks the language fluently. The Dutch language is no longer considered a foreign language since 1949.

The most spoken foreign language in Hindia Belanda is perhaps Timora Taal, which is a creole of Germanic, Romance and Austronesian languages spoken in areas bordering Timor-Leste and the United Kingdom of Sumbawa and Flores.

Danish, mostly spoken amongst the royal family and nobility as well as history buffs, though since 2011 it has been an optional language to learn in school.

English is our largest foreign language. As it is considered an official trade language, most adults in Ru speak it at least proficiently and many are fluent.

Aside from West Crylantian (Nordicised Latin) and East Crylantian (Latinised Danish), Crylante's two native languages, the most commonly spoken foreign language would be Siarad (English), which most of the population learn how to speak in school. In terms of linguistic minorities, there is a minority in the areas bordering Nausikaa speaking Nausikaan (Finnish), and a minority on the island of Aversi speaking Newreyan (Old English).

Arabic, due entirely to the presence of a Muslim community. It has little penetration outside of this community, however, and native languages dominate. English is second largest, due to its presence among the educated classes.

The foreign language with the largest number of speakers is Chinese, which although is listed as one of the nation's official languages, is largely only used for official and ceremonial uses and not mainly used in everyday life. Around 79% of the nation's population are able to recognise a basic amount of 1000 common Chinese characters, while around 51% can speak the language fluently.
