Education

Prior to the Second World War French and English were taught as foreign languages in secondary schools. Since the war Russian has become the primary foreign language taught, with English as an optional third language along with the languages of Warsaw Pact countries, Arabic and Mandarin.

Historic minorities

Historically East Vordanian has Jewish and Polish minorities speaking Yiddish and Polish. However during the war the Jewish population was largely murdered in the Holocasut and after the war Polish majority districts were incorporated into the post-1945 Polish state.
