At a ceremony presided by the Hundredstar Coast Guard Commandant, Rear Admiral (CG) Ralph Benson, GACO Aviation & Missile System officially handed over an GACO H-1 Firefly helicopter to the Hundredstarian Coast Guard.

This new helicopter, which will be based in the Coast Guard Aviation Station Queenborough and used for search and rescue missions in the Hundredstar sea, marks the start of the renewal process for the Coast Guard’s fleet of helicopters. The GACO H-1 Firefly delivered to the Hundredstarian Coast Guard has an Automatic Flight Control System, an invaluable flying aid that allows SAR missions to be carried out with greater precision, safety and effectiveness. In its SAR role, the aircraft is equipped with searchlights, a winch, and a rescue basket, although it can also be rapidly reconfigured to carry out other missions such as coastal surveillance, port security or aid missions for coastal communities. H-1 will be equipped with the most advanced search and rescue mission systems and operated in security enforcement, territorial sea guard duties as well as disaster relief missions.

On August 6, Hundredstar and Khantari kicked off this year’s edition of their joint army exercise in the latest defense interaction between the two states. The exercises once again shed light on the ongoing security collaboration that is underway between the two countries as part of their wider bilateral relationship despite lingering challenges. In January 2012, Hundredstar and Khantari established a base for defense collaboration, with the inking of a memorandum of understanding on defense cooperation. It foresaw a range of exercises, joint patrols, exchanges, and dialogues in place. But both sides have also been looking to step up security ties in recent years as well amid wider trends within their respective foreign policies as well as within the region more generally, despite the structural constraints that remain in doing so.

On the army side, one of the key interactions within this broader relationship is Exercise Flaming Crow. Recent iterations of the exercise have tended to last about two weeks and involve around 100 troops from the Hundredstarian Army and the Khantari Army.

This month, the defense side of the Hundredstar-Khantari relationship was in the headlines again with the holding of the latest iteration of Exercise Flaming Crow. The exercise involving both armies in Khantari is expected to last until August 19. According to the Hundredstarian Defense ministry, the exercise is focusing on the honing of tactical and technical skills in joint counterinsurgency and counterterrorism operations in rural and urban scenarios.

Hackworth Reunion Port

NEW GOLD MINING SITE CONNECT TO SEA PORT
__________

Hackworth - Hackworth city’s government estimated the construction of a road between the Lancerbrook gold-copper deposit and the Hackworth seaport in the region’s east coast at $608 million, the Hackworth city’s Head of the Transport, Communications and Road Department Stuart Palmcutter said on Wednesday during a meeting with Hundredstar’s Deputy Minister of Transport Ms. Jessica Spinas. The priority is to finish building the road, which will be 250 km long and will connect the Keeperbond village with the deposit. According to Palmcutter, this task is in line with an order from Hundredstarn President Dr. Baygents to consider this project. The deposit is scheduled to start operating in 2022.

The Hernwell Valley area in Hackworth, of which Lancerbrook is a part, is rich in resources with 23 million tonnes of copper and 2,000 tonnes (64.3 million ounces) of gold. Lancerbrook holds 9.5 million tonnes of copper and 16.5 million ounces of gold. The mine is expected to reach an annual output of 148,000 tonnes of copper and 275,500 ounces of gold, where for the first decade the output would be 250,000 tonnes of copper and 400,000 ounces of gold a year.

The seaport in Hackworth covers 19 to 23 hectares for cargo storage, which would be necessary for developing new deposits and for constructing an energy plant from the East-coast town of Burndell. The cargo turnover is due to growing starting in 2019 when the port is expected to receive additional construction materials for cultivating the Lowerbrook, Klendisbrook, and Lancerbrook gold deposits. The seaport’s annual cargo turnover is 250,000 tonnes.

Hundredstar Masters player, Harris Lovett was a deputy mayor of this goldmine city of Hackworth. Reelect for two terms, Lovett's involvement in a youth football atmosphere in Hackworth is prominent, as he owns a youth team known as Hackworth Young Miners FC.

The Mid Life Capability Assurance Program (MILCAP) upgrade is being undertaken at Pierclove by the Defense Equipments Upgrading Agency. HNS Jean Fromguards’s docking marks a significant milestone for GSMS, where it joins sister ships Michael Cloudbridge and Outerwolf. This will be the first time that three frigates have been on the hardstand at the Pierclove facility.

HNS Jean Fromguards will be the second ship to receive the MILCAP upgrade which includes:

-Upgraded ventilation systems;
-New sewage systems;
-Upgrade onboard fire-fighting system;
-Improvements to the diesel engines to improve power and efficiency; and
-Replacement of the full communications suite on the ship.

The frigates’ Tryget Tuna J-90 lightweight torpedoes launching systems will be upgraded to the J-90B standard, which performs better in littoral waters and MILCAP also including redesign of ship compartments and structures, modifications to the operations room, and the provision of a suite of simulation/ training systems, and is also integrating other sensors and weapons acquired under prior standalone programmes.

__________
INTERVIEW WITH ANDREW E. PARBOLIN, Ph.D., CEO/ PRESIDENT OF TECUMSEH ROYAL INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Image
__________

Andrew E. Parbolin, Ph.D, became Chief Executive Officer of Tecumseh Royal International Airport (TRIA) on November 1, 2170. With many years of executive experience, Parbolin has led organizations in both the public and non-profit sectors. As head of TRIA, Parbolin oversees 13,598 employees. Parbolin first gained experience in transportation when Governor Stacey Dacia of Freeport appointed him to be General Manager of the Freeport Transportation Agency in 2159, where he took charge of an agency with 7,000 employees serving nearly 680,000 daily commuters from 78 communities. Parbolin had also served in state government as Deputy Welfare Commissioner from 2161 to 2175. Probolin also served as Executive Director of a Humming Parrot Castle Task Force on Youth Employment in 2179.

Are you happy with the performance of the airport so far in 2018 and do you expect to meet your targets?
We are satisfied with the management of TRIA from all departments. We are more than confident that our targets for the year will be met due to the rising number of demand for regional and international flights. Our cargo department is, I would have to say, a bit behind on expectations due to a few behind the scene trade "situations" being worked out by the Minister of Trade. Overall we shouldn't be suffering too long as I have my full support in the department to get the best for our nation.

What is the strategy for the next couple of years?
We are in the works of opening hub destinations in multiple nations. The names of those nations are being withheld at the moment but with the accomplishment of those deals being signed off by both nations, plenty of doors are going to open for TRIA. We would also like to open more destinations nationwide to connect our citizens with each other. One Jamaica has one of the largest tourism industries and we look to bundle cheap tickets, hotel reservations, and others to foreigners looking to see the sights of our glorious nation.

How do you see technology improving airport operations?
Technology has made airport operations a ease for all of our employees. Communications between all departments are clearer than ever before, customer satisfaction is in the top 3 % of the world and airplane malfunctions and crashes are at an all-time low. We have contracts with multiple technology companies, with the Minister of Defense to name a few and we have a few projects in the works that will be discussed at a later date.

Yes, I am quite happy with our performance so far in 2018, although we have had some minor setbacks suck as A330neo delivery delays, 787 engine issues, and delays on the Pratts on the A320neo. We expect to meet or beat our targets for 2018.

Our strategy for the next few years is to consolidate our position in the European market and expand in growing markets, especially in Asia and Africa.

If you could change one thing about aviation tomorrow, what would it be and why?
I don't know, I can say at this point, I'm excited to see the introduction of possibly electric and carbon neutral aircraft in the future and aircraft that can fly halfway across the globe without the need to refuel. Who knows what will happen in the future, maybe we'll have 1000-seater electric luxury airliners flying halfway across the world!
