This may seem like a generic answer, but G-pop is one of the most popular music genres in the Democratic Republic. As it probably easy to figure out, G-pop is short for Gandoorese pop and, while the genre can trace its origins to the 1960s, modern G-pop originated during the 1980s and was influenced by the kayōkyoku genre (kayōkyoku is a Japanese musical genre that became the base of modern J-pop music) that was popular amongst Japanese-Gandoorese in the 70s and 80s. While there are certainly similarities between G-pop and J-pop considering similar origins, there are still distinctions between the two genres. Probably the biggest one is that a G-pop song in the modern day is just as likely to be in English as it is to be in Japanese (Russian-language G-pop songs, on the other hand, are much more rare. They do exist, but they're not very common or popular outside of Russophone communities, obviously enough).

As far as a musical celebrity that everyone would know, while it's not a single musical celebrity, you'll be hard-pressed to find a Gandoorese who hasn't heard of NatsuMei.

NatsuMei is a pop duo that was formed in 1983, made up of wife-and-wife Natsumi Okino and Jin Mei-ling (although Okino and Jin were not married until same-sex marriage was legalized in 1988, they had been in a relationship since 1981). They are the most successful musical group in Gandoorese history, having released the best-selling song of all time in our nation, 北京恋人「ＢＥＩＪＩＮＧ　ＬＯＶＥＲ」, which has sold over 9 million copies since its release in 1989, and having a cumulative sales record of over 45 million.

1. For many foreign-born residents who are from more culturally conservative countries (especially in regards to ones with more rigid gender roles and norms), our nation's open acceptance and tolerance of the breaking of the male/female gender binary can come across as fairly shocking.

2. The largest number of foreign nationals (defined under Gandoorese law as 'anyone living in Gandoor who holds neither Gandoorese citizenship or permanent residency status) residing in Gandoor are Filipinos, with 102 thousand foreign nationals living in Gandoor being from the Philippines.

The main religious groups in the Democratic Republic are the non-religious, Buddhism and Shintoism. 68.5% of Gandoorese report having no religious affiliation, 11.4% report being Buddhist, and 9.6% report following Shintoism.

1. There has never been a successful magnicide in Gandoorese history, however on 7 August 1837 Richard Gladstone attempted to assassinate Nzard William I in response to William I's establishment of the Royal Parliament a few months prior.

Gladstone was an ardent supporter of the existing absolutist system in Gandoor and believed that the establishment of the Royal Parliament, along with William I having previously passed a law granting male landowners aged 30 or older the right to vote and run for office in local elections in 1830, was proof that William I was part of cabal that wanted to see the death of absolute monarchy and its replacement with, in Gladstone's own words, 'the greatest mockery of government known to all man: democracy or rule by the uninformed and ignorant populace, instead of rule by a just and divine ruler'.

Gladstone did not succeed in his assassination attempt as he was subdued by three Royal Guards after hearing him fire two shots from his pepperbox revolver. The first shot missed William I completely and the second shot barely grazed his shoulder (it did not cause him any injury, however, and merely damaged his clothing).

Richard Gladstone was tried and found guilty of treason for his attempted assassination of Nzard William I and was hanged for his crimes on 21 September 1837.

2. We did not have any formal reaction to the Sino-Soviet split, beyond hoping that such a split would not lead to an outbreak of conflict between the two nations. Our nation was allied with neither country (we had been neutral in the Cold War since 1953, prior to that we were formally allied with the Soviet Union because of the rule of Alexei Petrikov from 1940 until 1951) and we did not (and still do not) have official diplomatic relations with the PRC.

I don't understand this question - Viola is literally my name? I didn't 'get' it, it's literally the name I have chosen for myself and have been using for over 10 years now - it's the name I go by, it's the name others refer to me using, and it's the name I am planning on legally changing my first name to. It's my name.

The Democratic Republic maintains diplomatic relations with the Republic of China, making our nation the largest and most populated nation to have official relations with the ROC, and considers Mainland China.

This relationship is an artifact of our Cold War foreign policy where our Government generally avoided recognizing the governments of nations that declared themselves socialist for most of the Cold War (with the exceptions of the Soviet Union itself and Yugoslavia, and the latter was because of its status as a neutral nation), not due to any hatred or distaste for socialism by our own Government (the Gandoor Communist Party, which is actually a socialist party and not a communist one, dominated Gandoorese politics from 1951 until 1976, our constitution calls for the establishment of a socialist economic system in its preamble, and our ideology is constitutionally defined as 'democratic market socialism') but due to concerns that other Western states would assume that we were ideologically aligned with these states if we maintained relations with them.

I believe that should make our nation's view of monarchies and monarchists clear enough, although we certainly don't oppress or otherwise restrict the rights of the (very few) people in our nation who wish to restore the old monarchy nor the (also very few) people in our nation who support foreign monarchies.
