It implies that the Polistasi is this order, and the state of anarchy is chaos, and hence this quote is often used to justify the suppression of rebels.

Adopted in 2012 AD, this is the second motto of TurtleShroom. It reflects the nation's view on "traditional values" and a rejection of change and "progressivism". This motto reflects the belief that conservatism and traditionalism are still the way forward for a nation seeking to preserve herself from moral rot and degredation.

An ancient phrase dating back to before any form of central government has even existed yet, this phrase has become a common zeitgeist across Duotona in its history which states that anything is possible when the correct people are at the helm. It was elevated to motto status in 2005, after being a common phrase of Anti-Milson movements all throughout the 80's, 90's and 2000's.

"Defend The Weak And Liberate The Oppressed"

The unofficial motto of the military, this motto has become a common way of thinking of the military that the weakest countries caught in a war should be prioritised, as they are the ones most susceptible to long-term damage. Duotona has been historically vocal about violence towards weak nations, including the Anchluss of Austria in 1938 and the independence movement in Taiwan.

My nation's motto is "Through Hell and Back, We Still Stand" or, "Зá aд назад мы стоjять"

The motto originally came from an anti-golgavich protestor's sign that read, "You've put us through hell and back, however we still stand! Remove the tyrant, Free the People!" His sign was posted on social media which quickly spread like wildfire which resulted in the quote becoming a national anti-olgavich slogan for protestors.
When Novakev gained independence, Tsar Leo I adopted the slogan as the motto of Novakev to not only resemble the Novaki Rus' toughness but to mock the Voinya government.

The current motto of Rhodevus is 'Until Victory', which was the final words of King Rubin Machin's speech after the collapse of the Rhodeve Empire (and the start of the Rhodeve Monarchy), where he proclaimed, "Even though Rhodevus was defeated and forever changed, it would not mean the end of the Rhodeve spirit, people and way of life. Rhodevus would remain strong and free and brave. Forever. From now on, until victory."

Those words became Rhodevus's motto from 1846 until this day.

Prior to this motto, from 1715 until 1845, the Rhodeve motto was 'Jakti Ouewei Tansi' which translates from the Ghong dialect to mean "We do not bend in victory". Ironically, this was a message sent by the chieftain of the Ghong tribe (chief Lightning Shadow in 1672) to the republican delegation, after the republican revolutionary movement requested that the Ghong tribe align themselves with the rebels, after the Ghong tribe participated in a major victory over them. In 1715 once Rhodevus won its independence and the triarchy system was established, which granted equal rights to native peoples, this became the national motto of the young republic.

The proper national motto of Agencourt, in their dialect of French, is:
"L'Unité est Éphémère, Mais Nous Sommes Éternels."

This can be translated literally: Unity is fleeting, but we are eternal.
Or figuratively: Unity is ephemeral, but we will]outlast (it).

As for a rundown: This is ironically what the last King of Agencourt uttered when being forced to flee, in an attempt to twist the words of the rébellion against themselves, as it had initially supported the Japanese invasion. The phrase ended up becoming the slogan of the united monarchist-republican-communist resistance that would eventually push the Japanese out with American support, and from there became a statement associated so strongly with the Agencourtian republician movement, that it was adopted as the national motto upon the foundation of the Federal Republic.

"Society over Individuality". This is the defining tenet of our civilization. We are a collectivist nation that believes that the needs of society must always come before the desires of the individual. Selfish and/or egotistical acts are highly frowned upon in our nation.

It's generally abbreviated as LLSS, it's a remnant of our war for independence where it was a guiding principle of our army, and it is drilled into people's heads everywhere in our society. We believe in tight controls over speech, as unfettered free speech leads to the spread of hatred and disinformation.

"Sit Nomine Digna" (English: May [the country] be worthy of the name) is a reference to the emperor of Japan, after whom Chrysanthemum State is named. It is not commonly used, except for diplomatic missions abroad.

Why is it the national motto: Originally, it's linked to the formation of Kaprein - representing that the lose coalition of minor nations and city-states couldn't survive on their own, and thus they formed a larger nation, with the motto United we Stand, Divided we Fall representing that Kaprein will remain strong as long as it is united. The motto's meaning has changed slightly, as when Kaprein became a republic, the motto went from meaning 'united following one ruler', to 'individuals united as a collective society while maintaining identities and rights as individuals'.
