[Imperial States of Duotona]

"When good beats evil, the sky's the limit." - This motto was chosen after WW2, to commemorate the victory that Duotona achieved in it. It was taken from a speech made by Alexander Poles, who was President during WW2. It came via radio broadcast during the Japanese invasions of the islands. He wanted to keep the people's morale high since most were in bunkers and he wanted to avoid a presumed revolt that would've caused them to join the Axis. The revolt never came, however, but what the speech did do was boost the morale of those fighting, with many famously writing it on their helmets (like how American troops drew on their helmets during the Vietnam War.) Two weeks later, the Japanese would be forced out of the nation for the final time.

The motto of the Kingdom of Rwizikuru is Unity in Trinity.

This can be implied to mean that Rwizikuru is united by the Holy Trinity (of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit) which is an important part of Sotirian beliefs (since Rwizikuru is 83% Sotirian). However, another interpretation is that it represents the union of Kigomba, Riziland, and East Riziland into a single nation when Estmere gave Rwizikuru independence in 1946.

While the government has, since the 1970s, officially favoured the first interpretation, particularly given that Kigomba was invaded by Mabifia in 1969, and East Riziland broke off to form Garambura around the same time, most people believe that the latter interpretation is, in fact, the correct interpretation of the motto.

Fraternity, Diversity, the Crossoverian Brotherhood

This motto originated in the Crossoverian Revolution, and implies that all the people of the land shall rise up against any form of oppression together, regardless of who they are. Fraternity within the people of Crossoveria, Diversity as in humans and anthros of the land, and the Crossoverian Brotherhood as in, well, both of these things.

Liberty, Democracy, Socialism is the official motto of the Democratic Republic of Gandoor and has been used since the establishment of the Democratic Republic in 1904. The motto reflects the intent of the revolutionaries who created the Democratic Republic to create a society which embodies the ideals of liberty and democracy while working towards the establishment of a socialist society. The motto's wording was directly inspired by the motto of France (Liberté, égalité, fraternité), as most of the Gandoorese revolutionaries were inspired by the ideals of the French Revolution, and the motto was originally going to be Liberty, Equality, Socialism, a near direct translation of the French motto (just with Socialism replacing Fraternity) but was changed to reflect the revolutionary's goal of establishing a fully democratic state in Gandoor.

The motto replaced our nation's previous motto of For the Grace of God and Nzard, which was used during the existence of our nation's monarchy. Liberty, Democracy, Socialism replaced For the Grace of God and Nzard for the simple reason that the Nzardom of Gandoor no longer existed following the Gandoor Revolution. The new Gandoor was no longer a monarchy with a strong religious influence, it was to be a secular republic.

It is not an original motto however, as the same motto or slightly different variations proliferated in past governments that reunified the region and smaller governments that may have only held a city or two alike. Droiden also uses the motto "Alle Jorde skal syrne Godí favoriserer Droidenska," meaning "All Earth shall see that God favors Droiden," originally used by Kongur Eirik II during his exile in Finland.

Gelnhausens motto is "Friede den Hütten, Krieg den Palästen" which is a quote from Georg Büchners Der Hessische Landbote an eight page pamphlet from 1834 urging the rural population of the Grand-Duchy of Hessen to revolt against the duke. It literally translates to "Peace to the huts, War to the Palaces", emphasizing a simple frugal lifestyle and militant rejection of greed and oppression.

The motto is in Austro-Gaelic, one of the official languages of the Commonwealth and considered to be it's literary and poetic language. Translated, it means;
