KRISSAL IDHNARNAKOTS

Hey, Queen Krissal of Eikangaard.
Somebody had the bright idea to sign me up for this to give me something to pass the time other than politics, politics, and more politics. So now you guys get to ask me whatever questions you want. They can be about me, they can be about my country, whatever, I'm not gonna be picky about what I answer.

Fire away folks!

Rhodevus wrote:"What's Eikangaard like?"

Well that's not a hard question to answer at all!

I mean where do I begin? I guess I could talk about how the country typically ranges from "somewhat warm" in the summer to "god does not love anymore" cold in the winter. Then again we've got a lot of mountains and ski resorts and I like to snowboard so I can't really complain. And I mean there's this really cool waterfall called Queen's Loss Falls in the south that only partially freezes over and leads to the formation of some really cool and really weird ice formations!

Another thing I guess I can say is that all those rumors about Eikangaardi's being unfriendly or melancholy isn't true, though I admit we can come off as such. See our culture advocates for people to hide their emotions and keep them private in public, so it can lead to us coming off as a bit cold-hearted to visitors. Seriously though, just talk so us a little, and yeah there are jerks around but there are jerks everywhere.

Rhodevus wrote:"So, what's it like being a queen?"

Stressful and a high workload. Eikangaard's monarchy isn't really the same as other nation's, as the reigning monarch acts like a permanent fixture in Parliament. Basically I'm an MP that isn't elected with the same powers as the Prime Minister, so I gotta lobby for reforms just like anyone else. I can't just magically wave my hand or decree anything although for the most part the PM seems to differ to me a lot of the time since we tend to see eye-to-eye.

Plus I'm sorta taking over for my father who just passed less than a month ago and looking after my kid sister so that's also been a bit of a time-sink. It's been rough but I'm holding together pretty good all things considered.

Rhodevus wrote:"How are the weed laws over there?"

First, Eikangaard allows the sale and purchase of marijuana from registered and licensed outlets. Procuring marijuana from illegal sources will result in an arrest and fines or jail time depending on the severity.

Secondly, really dude? Really?

Dirkhizistan wrote:Wat do u think of Dirkhizistan?
-QuantumCringe

I'll be honest, I didn't really have any strong opinions of Dirkhizistan until the coup in Valorsante. While I feel its too early to say how this'll pan out, I am concerned about their use of military force in another nations internal political issues. Not to mention that this has also had the effect of increasing global tensions with VSSA nations.

Belantica wrote:"Did you think Queen Karen was a bit intimidated? I know you're 6'2" and she's only 5'8"."

Probably not. Karen was a cop, and I'm pretty sure that means she's dealt with people bigger than me at some point. Besides she seemed relaxed enough around me and we got along well I think.

Belantica wrote:"How will help keep the Isolationist happy while still working with the rest of the world?"

Now isn't that the question of the day?
I'm hoping to find a middle ground since it seems that its more of a reaction to the fact that now Eikangaard is coming out of out isolation and is taking a more active role in international politics. Now that brings about uncertainty, and I think a lot of their positions are based on that, especially considering the rise in global tensions.

How am I going to address that? AS of now I have no definitive idea since a lot of it is a bit out of my control. Best I can do is try to build as many bridges as possible. One thing's for sure though, as long as the crown is in my possession we won't be heading back into isolationism. I don't think Eikangaard could survive on its own anymore.

Belantica wrote:"What's your favorite drink?"

There's this specific brand that makes an iced-tea with a hint of peach in it. It's actually pretty good.

Belantica wrote:"Do you think Ventismar needs to become more cooperative instead of remaining hostile or bitter towards each other?"

Yes definitely! A lot of the global tension could be resolved with greater cooperation in Ventismar, and greater trade could allow the continent to project its influence further than it can currently. That said, it doesn't mean that easing the tensions in Ventismar will just magically make the world a better place, but it would be a good start!

The Seven United wrote:Does Queen Krissal believe that Climate Change/Global Warming is real? If so, what is your plans for combating it?

Yes its a real thing that exists and needs to be dealt with. That said its not as easy as flipping a switch and magically fixing it. I'm hoping to introduce a bill to eliminate coal power by 2026 as a start. We'll see how that goes and move on from there.

Rhodevus wrote:"What sports do you do?"

Snowboarding, Hockey, and Kickboxing.

I have perfected the art of "Punch ya in the Gabba"

Rhodevus wrote:"What's your favourite activity to do in your free time?"

I like to stay in shape if I'm being honest, and I don't like to sit still for extended periods of time. So when I do get free time I tend to be working out in some form. I mean keeping the gunshow open takes work you know? :)

Rhodevus wrote:"Have you ever gone scuba diving before?"

...Scuba diving.

...In Eikangaard.

Rhodevus wrote:"Have you ever had a near-death experience? What was it?"

Back when I was in the military working SAR I was a rescue swimmer on a helicopter. I remember one rescue where a ship capsized in rough seas and we needed to get the sailors out of the water before they succumbed to hypothermia. I was in the water, working on getting the third man out when a wave hit me, dragging me under and snapping my harness. I managed to grab onto the line when I surfaced and got the guy out but that's probably the closest I've come to a near-death experience.

You learn things being in that situation though. Like a lot of movies like to show a person in a near-death experience as resigned to their fate. It's really not like that. At some level your mind is trying to work out a way out of the situation and your first thought is still making it out alive.

A great question! The Constitution was suspended due to several loopholes that made it easy for the Monarch to dissolve the Uijeongbu - the State Council. These loopholes are being addressed in the new Constitution. The constitution is also being rewritten to address things like tax codes.

Rhodevus wrote:"Is culture and tradition a very important part of Jeongui life?"

Ah, yes. Culture and tradition plays a very large role in life in Jeongui. Older generations, like myself, tend to be very very traditional - while the younger generations have found their own balance between the old ways and newer ways of doing things.

Rhodevus wrote:"Does Jeongui work with Rhodevus?"

We do work with Rhodevus to an extent - but we haven't formalized any major relations yet. Currently, however, I believe our governments are beginning to discuss and formalize these into trade deals and the like.

Belantica wrote:"Do you see the youth of Jeongui will tend to pick up more cues from the west? Do you prefer that Jeongui stays to it's traditions over westernization?"

Today's youth are very westernized - many of today's youth have never worn traditional clothing preferring the western style clothing, as an example. The traditional style clothing is mostly only worn on special occasions - wedding days, for example - or if you work closely to the King, such as myself. In other things, like food, we have a balance between western and eastern. In terms of traditions - we've made a balance in the younger generation.

Belantica wrote:"Are you concerned about Kaming increasing the amount of troops along your border with them?"

No. Kaiming is a tiger that growls loudly, but it's claws have gone dull. Our nation has many alliances with nations that are ready to help us defend if Kaiming ever attempts to reawaken.[/quote]

Belantica wrote:"Is there plans to trade with Belantica? Do you think Belanticans will like to come visit Jeongui?"

I would love to see more trade between our countries! I do think Belanticans would enjoy visiting Jeongui - we have a lot to offer to tourists. From the ancient buildings, right down to our E-Sports arenas. There is something for everyone to enjoy in Jeongui.

Belantica wrote:"Do you think the Vukmiri government overreacted to the finding of Haley Hannibal?"

If Kaiming is the Eastern Tiger that growls loudly but has dull claws, I believe Vukmire is the Western Tiger that growls loudly but has dull claws. They enjoy to be heard, but I do not think they have the means to back up their voice. So, yes - I do believe their government reaction was over done.

Rezua wrote:Do you think that your government is fair to your people? In other words, are your people treated humanely or oppressed?

In Jeongui, all ministers of the uijeongbu (State Council) take an oath upon becoming a member. "I will represent the nation in the name of the King. I will represent the people who have called upon me to serve them." We take this oath very seriously. Jeongui can be called a land of referendums - on many major decisions we hold referendums to hear what they people think before the government votes - that way we can ensure the people are happy with the Government.

Rhodevus wrote:"What was the largest war Jeongui has fought in aside from the world wars?"

Jeongui was in fact neutral during both World Wars. We had not modernized yet in WWI - until 1922 our army did not have access to guns - and during WWII we again remained neutral as a Client State of the Empire of Kaiming, which had also remained neutral during the wars.

In recent years, the only war we have been involved in was the Kaimingese invasion from 1970 to 1973 when a cease fire was signed. We had broken our status as a client state of Kaiming, due to their Communist revolution, and nations such as Cill Airne was heavily investing in the westernization of Jeongui. This led to Kaiming to invade in attempt to reestablish the status quo.

Rhodevus wrote:"Are there any famous freedom fighters in your nation?"

Three come to my mind immediately - Park Junhyu, Jeong Hyeok-yim and Yi Manse. All three were key freedom fighters during the Kaimingese invasion. Jeong Hyeok-yim is better known as King Geonheung today - though Geonheung is a title meaning victorious in war. He fought bravely against the Kaimingese forces to liberate the nation alongside international forces. Park Junhyu, who died last year, is well known for her efforts to liberate the nation through peaceful means. And Yi Manse was the Yeonguijeong during the invasion - and well known for his resistance efforts and for keeping the nation together.

Hello people of the internet! I'm Zaira Timmel. Long lost daughter of Nathanial Timmel. Yes, that Nathanial Timmel (General of the Rhodeve Armed Forces). I am currently an Admiral-General in the RAF (Rhodeve Armed Forces), but have lived quite an interesting life to get me to where I am today. I'm an ex-Special Ops Commander for the Rhodeve Rubin 5 Division. I'm an ex-spy and saboteur, and probably most well known is that I am an ex-assassin and Bannerless Brotherhood Operative, who was tasked with assassinating my dear old dad.

So, I'm open to any questions you have about me, my crazy life and of course the Bannerless Brotherhood pre-1995. And as the saying goes: Ask Me Anything! AMA!

Thanks,

Well. In short, the Private Military Act of 1997 was a law which banned all private military contractors from operating in and out of Rhodevus.

The long version brings us back to post-WW2 when Private Military Contractors were huge business, especially for nations involved in the Cold War. What better way to insight revolution than to have a PMC do it for you? Of course Rhodevus got in on that business, with quite a few very prominent and very very wealthy PMCs. The one I worked for for most of my formative years was the Black Pirate Corporation. During the Cold War, the BPC and many other contractors based out of Rhodevus worked for multiple governments to steal new technologies, sabotage research facilities and other military compounds, and of course assassinate high profile and low profile targets.

What many didn't realize was that the Brotherhood seemed to have a pretty big hand in many of these contractors. So, it's 1995 and I come along. I spent my entire life up until that point in the employ of what I thought was my family at the Black Pirate Corporation, working for them doing a bunch of different tasks, including everything listed above. By a few very lucky events, I was discovered by Nathanial Timmel, my actual father and he helped me to discover the behind-the-scenes aspect of the BPC and other contractors like it.

So, the big event of the mid-90s in Rhodevus was the take down of the BPC, which until that point had been a billion-dollar enterprise. Of course, there were a bunch of smaller incidents involved as well, which closed down another 3 contractors in the country between the years of 1992-1996. Finally, in 1997 with large amounts of evidence backing the claims, the Private Military Act was written up and passed, which kicked out all PMCs from the country and seized all their assets. The major reason was the discovery that the BB was using million and billion dollar companies in Rhodevus and internationally to fund and fuel their terrorist attacks. This bill allows the government to take down huge portions of income for this group and also end Rhodevus's promotion of war and espionage.

The law has remained in place ever since.

Hopefully this has answered your question. if I missed anything, please ask again.

It definitely is a growing possibility. Belantica is in a prime location to develop a large naval presence in Southern Sunalaya, which can definitely effect Corentian and possibly even Southern Ziambani diplomacy and economics.

Belantica wrote:"Do you see yourself as trying to follow in your father's footsteps? Have you thought about working your way to becoming the highest-ranked general in the Rhodeve military?"

I have thought about trying to continue for a generalship, but as it stands now, this is the highest I ever see myself going. It is an open secret that my past is coming back to bite me, and my previous engagements with the Brotherhood bar me from many of the ranks that are currently above me. But, my choice to even join the Command Battalion (essentially any ranked person with '-general' in their title) was heavily influenced by my father.

For now, I am happy with my current position as an Admiral-General. It focuses less on the actual fighting, and more on the communication between divisions in the armed forces, which is a pleasant change of pace.

Hmm... I don't think I have. Interesting, the more you know.

Belantica wrote:"What would you say is the car culture like in Rhodevus? What kind of car do you use?"

I'd say the car culture in Rhodevus is fairly relaxed. Nothing like that of Belantica. You do see some nice looking rides during the summer, but for the winter months it is fairly bland and boring. You should check out the Ile du Fleurs though. That place is sunny 24/7 so they got some excellent vehicles.

I currently own 2 vehicles. The one I use for the winter and cold months is a 2015 Civic. But, my pride and joy is my bike. I've had it and have been working on it since the late 90s. It's a RC45 sports bike 125 bhp, 284 km/h (I've yet to max out the speed), V4 motor. And of course some personal upgrades I've made over the last 20 years. Still runs like a charm; though I can mainly put that down to everything being replaced with newer gear.

Well, I can honestly say I haven't had much interaction with the people or military (or is that the same thing?) of Platinum Falcons. While I'm all for military conscription (We've got that here as well), I'm not a huge fan of child soldiers. Platinum Falcons conscripts people at the young age of 16, which is still quite young. And, as someone who grew up in the equivalent of the military, I can say that it is not fun. Pushing military age back to the universal standard (18) might be a bit better, especially since there is less conflict now than back even 30 years ago.
