Communism/Fascism in YN

Postby Southern Archipelago Bay » Sat Mar 25, 2017 4:58 pm

Communist and Nazi symbolism is banned in Southern Archipelago Bay, and is punished by mindwiping.

The government would be considered Fascist by many, but we do not like to think that we are that.

We are a Soviet Republic led by the Unified Communist Party of the of the Working People. Anti-communist propaganda is banned. Fascism or chauvinism are banned and a death penalty can be very easily issued to the offenders.

Both ideologies are viewed as collectivist and are widely vilified.

Fascism is usually taken a little more seriously, but that doesn't say much.

Following the activities and complete oppression of people of nearby nations like Bretia (a fascist state) and Kazakovo (an authoritarian communist state similar to the USSR) and the brutal Bretan-Kazan War, both ideologies are viewed very negatively especially due to their (usually) authoritarian nature as the majority of Biancavillans tend to be somewhat Libertarian. There are some socialist-type politicians in the Parliament, but not nearly enough to have much of an impact. The Socialist Party lost most of its popularity following the Pavlov Mission by the Biancavillan Intelligence Agency, which revealed the brutal conditions of the Kazakovan people which had been jaded by propaganda. The Biancavillan Fascist Party never really gained traction as Bretan war crimes, especially in her colonies, had become widely known throughout the region before it was able to gain popularity.

Auzkhia has a communist party, it is called "Die Linke", (The Left in German), while not explicitly communist, it is an anti-capitalist, socialist big tent party for any left wing radical, socialist, and marxist, but it is the leading communist party, there are others, but they do not have parliamentary representation. The Social Democratic Party is older and was founded by socialists who preferred gradual reform within representative democracy, while the Left is descended from old communist parties who agitated for insurrectionary revolution.

Fascism, however, is less popular, it had some support when reactionaries took power, but post war conditions saw a resurgence in liberalism and even social democracy. It has some fringe support in a few isolated districts which are vulnerable to right wing extremists.

Both are seen as a bit extreme, with communism having more popularity.

Communism is represented in parliament through the United Communist Party, however, we have never been communist and it's not viewed in a very positive light.

Fascism was banned from the 1940s until recently, when the ban was lifted. Before the ban, there used to be the United Fascist Party, but it too, was banned. Nowadays, fascism is not illegal, however it's still frowned upon and isn't allowed to gain much foothold. A fascist party in power would be unconstitutional.

Whilst neither communism nor fascism are banned, nor could they ever be banned, neither are even rare.

Whilst the People's Party of Paladins began as a revolutionary vanguard communist party during the Six-Year's Anarchy, they have since moderated into socialists, or more accurately, social democrats. Whilst a few Paladins are still communists, the ideology is generally looked down upon, in consideration of it failing upon trying to be implemented, and the amounts of death associated with it. In fact, in many ways, people dislike it even more than fascism, in consideration of how many more died under communist regimes than fascism.

Fascism, on the other hand, has never been a political ideology which has gained ground in the Domain. Everyone knows the history of what happened with fascist regimes, and they want no part of that, particularly in the Domain.

Both parties are for the moment at least legal although neither is popular. The White Peoples Party is seen as a party of hatred, whilst the Communist Party is seen as a danger to the economy.
The Megatronist Party is facist in some ways but doesn't say it openly, nor does it hate people, ponies or changelings because of their skin colour. In fact it got rid of the old racist laws against blacks.

Fascism is banned in the Commune and those who adhere to Fascist ideals are threatened with death.

Communism, specifically Marxist-Leninism, is the ideology of the Kusini Commune. Communism is the only allowed ideology and the state strictly adheres to it. Religion is banned while banks are outlawed and the state does not have any currency and people trade with wheat. Kusini has an entirely agricultural economy as other economies are banned by the Agrarian People's Party.

Fascism is outlawed in Vanadrene. Sentences for supporting fascist organizations, groups, or movements, range from mandatory re-education to execution (in the case of material support).

Communism is the state ideology, as extolled by the Marxist-Leninist line of the Communist Party, the sole legal party in Vanadrene.

Both communism and fascism are discouraged within Soviet society, despite the nation possessing many of the traits of both ideologies. Communism is basically thought of as "that one idea with good intentions, but ends up being a major f*ck up", whereas fascism is viewed as "that thing with the cool armies. Don't know the rest, such books have been banned". We are a socialist country, we do not like either.

Communism and fascism are both legal ideologies in Gandoor.

While one of Gandoor's two major political parties is the Gandoor Communist Party, the party removed all remnants of communism from official party documents (other than the name) by 1961. Among modern people, communism is a somewhat unpopular ideology due to the widely held belief that it's unworkable due to human nature.

Facism, conversely, is widely hated in Gandoor and is considered antithetical to everything Gandoor stands for. A political party espousing fascism does exist, the Gandoor Fascist Party, although they only have an estimated 1900 members nationwide.

In Kendor, Communism and Fascism are both legal. However, both Communism and Fascism are hated for their oppressive nature, while Kendor's citizen are liberal. For Communism, it's widely hated, with only few Kendorians being communist, which is because the Communist government, ruling from 1928 to 1988, ruled Kendor with iron fist. For Fascism, it's also widely hated for it's oppressive and totalitarian policies, as well as the aforementioned fact that most Kendorians are liberal, and fascism are opposed to it, even calling it "moral filth"

Speaking good of communism/socialism or communist/socialist countries is absolutely illegal and could result in life in prison depending on the severity of the crime and if it was done to convert people to communism. Communist imagery and propaganda (Including but not limited to the hammer and sickle, red/yellow star, or raised fist) that portrays communism in a positive light is also illegal.

Fascism is welcomed as a decent working system, and the IFR is usually friendly and in open relations with fascist countries. However, it takes the official stance that fascism could be made perfect by removing the factor of the state-controlled economy.
