"I personally was elected by my family after my grandmother expressed a personal wish for me to be her heir, this happened when I was very young so I had plenty of time to prepare, and any member of the immediate royal family to the current monarch is eligible to vote. In my case it was my father, mother, Aunt, Uncle, Sister and my other grandparents"

"Our nation is already quite democratic, we have taken a more British model of parliament since the late 50's and I have had very little reason to invoke any new legislation myself since the start of my reign"

"I can see why people would ask this but no, there is no relation between us and Germany any more than there is relation between Ireland and The Ivory coast"
