Allamunnic Gridiron League
Circa 1930

The Allamunnic Gridiron League was founded in 1930. As time went by, it merged with the rival leagues of the Federal Gridiron League, and the Osterian Gridiron League. However, in 1930, there were only ten teams, each playing a nine-game season. The playoffs consisted of all but the Divisional losing teams.

Teams are listed with 1930 Season Record. First Federal Bowl was played on December 20th, 1930. The first official league game was played between the Thomasburg Ironmongers and the Wilsonville Monitors on September 3rd, 1930, with the result being a 8-7 win for the Ironmongers.

Northern Division
Dunnmaar Destroyers (8-1) - #1
Thomasburg Ironmongers (7-2) - #2
Wilsonville Monitors (6-3) - #3
Inneville Patriots (5-4) - #4

Southern Division
Derrick Crimson Tide (8-1) - #1
Mobilston Tigers (7-2) - #2
Vienna Huskies (6-3) -#3
St. Theodore Saints (5-4) - #4
Dreichium Comets (2-7)

The Allamunnic States' National Soccer Team
Nickname: Regulars
Style Modifier: +1.5
Coach: Wilhelm Schroeder (Age: 51)
Base Formation: 4-3-3 (4 Strikers, 3 Midfielders, 3 Backfielders)

RP Permission:
Please, TG before doing anything but scorers or game-ending injuries. Injuries outside of game-ending for a player are determined by myself. If you're going to godmod events, make sure it doesn't violate any of the above rules. TG me just to be safe with those. Don't do any penalizing worse than yellow cards without permission, please.
.
Also, if you godmod an event of any kind, by all means, have fun with it, but please keep in mind other permissions apply (such as injuries and the like).

OOC Please Note: The official name of the nation is the Allamunnic States. The demonym is Allamunnic. The term "Fanboyist" is considered IC'ly to be rather offensive, and I will treat it as such in RP. OOC'ly, I don't really care if you use it, but be aware of what the IC reaction will be. I will try not to come across as jumping down anybody's throat. Any perceived IC rudeness is not meant as OOC'ly, as well.

Team Overview: A new offensive focus brought by new head coach Wilhelm Schroeder should allow an Allamunnic team that finished 8-4-4 in their last outing at the 58th World Cup, falling just short of qualification, to stand a real chance of qualifying for the World Cup proper. With players that indicate a not-inconsequential level of talent and typical Allamunnic discipline and physical play, qualifying may be a realistic goal this time around (World Cup 60), especially if the team can pull together and continue the physical play that Allamunnic teams are well-known for, and can keep a new-found intensity from their training camp going strong.

The Allamunnic soccer team's best finish to date remains a 10-1-5 campaign back in World Cup 57, where they were one play-off game short of qualifying.

Players:

Goalkeeper
#08 - Leopyld Hulms - (21; 5'10"; 201lbs, STARTING GOALKEEPER) - Leo was effective, if not exactly in the top tier of goal-keepers in the Regulars' last go-round. In all fairness to the man, he's only 21 and is gaining experience ; he might be able to do a little more for the team this year, especially if he isn't left to win games all the time through net-minding heroics.

#07 - Tara Hassan - (19; 5'6"; 134lbs, Reserve Goalkeeper) - Tara, Hulms' understudy, has a certain amount of natural talent. Her lack of experience against a high level of opponents means that there isn't a good indication of how good or bad she is, so she serves as a reserve until the actual extent of her talents can be determined.

Backfielders

#35 - Honorius Haaldunn - (23; 6'3"; 230lbs, STARTING RIGHT BACKFIELDER) - Honorius is easily the largest player on the team. He's another part of the unit that can be used against teams that the Thunder want to grind-out or simply ball-hog against to kill time and prevent scoring. As large as he is, he can play exceedingly physically, and can be used to buy time or provide an anchor for the rest of the defense or ball-possessing players.

#32 - Daniel Otto - (22; 6'1"; 224lbs, STARTER, CENTER BACKFIELDER) - Otto is the large and reasonably athletic anchor for the defensive backfield, capable of crowding and creating jams in the middle to prevent easy scoring opportunities for opponents and to make himself ideally-suited to force turnovers to get the Regulars' offense moving again and to take the pressure off the defense.

#33 - Theodur Arnstadt - (24; 6'1"; 229lbs, STARTING LEFT BACKFIELDER) - Theo is a larger player who provides a greater measure of physicality that is available to the Thunder's backfield and defensive play. Arndstadt, like much of the team, is a little short on experience. That said, he's got plenty of talent and physicality, and is more than sufficient to kill clock and control the ball, primarily to help the midfielders in this primary aspect of their game.

#34 - Selyn Jordan - (21; 5'6"; 146lbs, Right Backfielder) - Selyn is one of the backfield's available finesse players, who can be used to help press the attack quickly to help capitalize on turnovers. Selyn is a faster player who, like much of the team, lacks experience. She'll mostly rotate, since the team's manager doesn't think she's ready to start or take on heavy play duties yet.

#51 - Zack Riley - (23; 6'0"; 230lbs, Right Backfield) - Riley is another versatile midfielder who can be used either as an additional ball-controller or as an attacker in the team's midfielder-based attack. Riley's relatively experienced by this team's standards, with a mix of finesse and physicality. Riley's skill makes him a player likely to be rotated in.

#11 - Lily Stokes - (26; 5'6"; 145lbs, Right Midfielder) - Lily is a generally fast, versatile, attacking and goal-shooting centerfielder, rather than one geared towards ball-control. She's more likely to help keep the ball moving, play defense, or move the ball around in the center-field to the strikers, or to help set up attacks and other plays with the strikers or other centerfielders.

Centerfielders

#41 - Erik Drakarr - (23; 6'0"; 216lbs, STARTER, LEFT MIDFIELDER) - Erik is a physical player who helps contribute to the Blue's control of centerfield. He's got a little more in the way of finesse, but he's still inexperienced, and still learning. He's useful for setting up plays with the strikers and other midfielders, or for burning time playing keep-away with the other team, either through passing (which he's quite good with), or simple physicality (which he can also do just fine).

#21 - Ryan Carlson - (22; 6'1"; 221lbs, STARTER, CENTER MIDFIELDER) - Carlsson is a younger, power-oriented player who's another good anchoring member of the center-field. He's more likely to act as a more passive anchor for the centerfielders to work around, and to work with the backfielders and strikers, while leaving more of the pressing to the more experienced and aggressive Brom. Carlson is less experenced, hence his lack of aggressiveness.

#31 - Izaak Brom - (28; 6'2"; 217lbs, STARTER, RIGHT MIDFIELDER) - Izaak is a more-experienced power-oriented player who acts partially as a mid-field anchor and partially to help press the attack. His size allows him to anchor any attacks or plays, and to play physically and help control the middle of the field. He's got more than a little passing talent, which is useful for ball-control. For his realitive conservative play, Brom seems to have a certain amount of big-play potential, and will hopefully remain a key part of the team for years to come.

#71 - Theo Brom - (19; 5'11"; 236lbs, Right Outside Centerfield) - Brom is a powerful player who can kick powerful shots on goal, and can be used to control the ball. His inexperience is a slight liability, but given a year or two, he should be able to be integrated fully into the team's midfielder-heavy approach rather than as a simple substitute.

#36 - Olson Parmele - (24; 6'0"; 235lbs, Center Backfielder) - Parmele is a truely versatile player; large enough to be physical, experienced enough (five years or so in the domestic league) to have learned plenty, and with enough finesse to be a major threat downfield or to keep the ball away from the opponent, even to help press the attack to quickly capitalize off of turnovers.

#81 - Kyl Haalmund - (23; 6'1"; 240lbs, Left Inside Centerfield) - Haalmund is a big-play potential player. He's young, already a three-year veteran of the domestic league willing to join the national team full-time, and with plenty of big-play potential, versatility, and talent and unfulfilled potential a-plenty. Given a year or two to develop, it's easy to think he might be able to take a starting spot on the team.

#61 - Chloe Sharpes - (22; 5'7"; 151lbs, Left Outside Centerfield) - Sharpes is a finesse-geared player who will probably be used primarily to add to an attack or to keep the ball moving downfield rather than simply control it. Sharpes can shoot sufficiently that she is a threat on attack, who can be inserted in different packages to add potency to the Blue's attack.

Strikers

#27 - Derrik Carlson - (20; 6'2"; 234lbs, STARTER, LEFT FORWARD) - Derrik is midfielder Ryan Carlson's younger brother. Derrik is a versatile forward who can shoot accurately and powerfully on goal, and is quite useful for setting up plays for other strikers. His main disadvantage is inexperience and a tendency to fold in high-pressure situations. However, there are high hopes for Carlson, and an expectation that both of these can be overcome by simply gaining experience.

#24 - Mike Tesla - (25; 6'1"; 219lbs, STARTER, LEFT INSIDE FORWARD) - Tesla is a solid, reliable striker, who can make good, safe shots on the goal, with a reasonable amount of success. His other strength lies primarily in his ability to set up plays for other, more explosive strikers, and to tie down defenders and control the field. His ability to mix power with speed makes him dangerous, along with his lack of 'star-power' means that he's able to catch people on surprise.

#23 - John Horst - (27; 6'0"; 220lbs, STARTER, RIGHT INSIDE FORWARD) - John plays as an anchor in the middle of the field with the strikers, and is more than capable of making some excellent shots on goal. That said, his main contribution is his physicality which lets him keep control of the middle of the field, and set up shots on goal for other players, even if he's capable of taking them himself as well.

#22 - Derrik Leifsson - (22; 6'1"; 220lbs, STARTER, RIGHT FORWARD) - Derrik is as close as the team has to an actual star these days with the drought of players brought on by the institution of the volunteer system to the national team. He has the natural talent, play-making ability, physicality and finesse to be a true super-star and to play at the level of many of the world's elite players. That is, if he can play properly with the rest of his team.

#25 - Kelly Horst - (19; 5'4"; 130lbs, Right Forward) - Kelly is John Horst's younger sister. Kelly is a finesse-geared striker who specializes in making quick, accurate shots. Alas, there's usually not loads of speed on said shots, so there's reason to think she's not terribly effective at the moment. This can probably be owed to slight flaws in her fundamental form, which will, given her inexperience, probably be corrected as she plays and gains experience.

#26 - Hendrik Kristholm - (23; 5'10"; 226lbs, Left Forward) - Hendrik is a more power-oriented stiker; he's useful for keeping the ball around and push the ball around to set up plays and shots for other players. Hendrik is also good for ball control and supporting the other strikers. His own shots tend to be more powerful, but less accurate.

#28 - Kristina DePaul - (19; 5'6"; 144lbs, Center Forward) - Kristina is a finesse-geared striker, who shoots accurately and quickly (not so much powerfully) and requires little to no set-up before shooting, and she has a knack for getting the ball into the goal, somehow, some way. Kristina, however, isn't so good with ball control, which is a liability on this squad.

Base Formation:

Nation: The Federal Republic of Allamunnic States
Team: Iron Tide
Team Colors: Royal Blue, Dark Grey,
Style Modifier: +3

Choose my scorers: TG me first.
Penalise my players: Yes, make sure its a roughness or contact-related penalty. I’d prefer a TG first to clear it.
Eject my players: Yes, if it fits into the game well. Don't simply eject players if it wouldn't make sense from an RP or story standpoint. TG first.
Injure my players: Yes, but I determine severity outside of game-ending for a player.
Godmod scoring: Make it interesting if you use this. TG with me first.
Godmod injuries: Make it interesting if you use this. TG with me first.
Godmod other events: Make it interesting if you use this. TG me first.

Overview: The "Volunteers" system seems to have worked well; players, at least temporarily, for the duration of their time with the team, resign all contracts with domestic teams or franchises, and join the national team full-time. This change in approach yielded the first World Bowl playoff appearances for an Allamunnic team, and a championship run for the lacrosse team, so the formerly-lackluster hockey team hopes to continue to benefit from the change in approach.

Physicality has generally been a strength of Allamunnic teams, not finesse. It’s those roots the Tide is looking to get back to, as they'll try to bludgeon every team they face with superior power, strength, and aggression, and they'll focus more than ever on playing fast and hard after being outclassed by a championship-winning Plutoni squad in the quarterfinals in the 12th WCoH. An aggressive offense will likely be the hallmark of this team. There will be a very good power-play presence for this team, with hopefully a lot of scoring overall. Expect good penalty-killing, as well. Fighting will not be nearly as prevalent as it was last time around, but it will still be a big part of the way the Tide plays.

Head Coach: Kyle Smart (Career Record: W: 36- D: 39- L: 32) - After two WCH's, Smart (a cousin to World Bowl coach Ryan Smart) has more than proven himself after leading the Tide to their best finish in the Cup of Hockey, with a 7-1-2 record in qualifiers only falling in the playoffs to the eventual champions (Plutoni) in the quarterfinals after knocking out Sarzonia in WCH XII, and after making it to the second round before losing to eventual champions Kelssek in WCH XIII. Smart's approach of balancing finesse-offense and brute Allamunnic strength has done good things for the team, and the rough and tumble defense he espouses doesn't hurt their ability to play against the best.

1st Line - Balanced

LW#03 Skaade Saen-Vaalhulm (Height: 5'6"; Weight: 156lbs; Age: 21 - Iron Tide) - Skaade is another budding player, also a bit short on experience. Along with Theodur, she had yet to enter the draft when offered a spot on the Volunteers. She's a good precision shooter, and lacks some of Theodur's aggression, but she is a quite active and effective player in her own right, especially after she gains some experience. She will be lower-producing than Theodur, and shouldn’t get a whole lot of playing time, even if she will get some. Skaade has made her place domestically on the Thomasburg Penguins.

C#22 Theodur Braannur (Height: 6'1"; Weight: 228lbs; Age: 21 - Iron Tide) - Theodur is a much more talented, but much less experienced player. He's quite aggressive, and is a near-superstar. Given a few years, he will likely be a star player. For now, he will simply have to be content to be way better than a rotating player has any right to be. Powerplay and Penalty-Kill!

RW#02 Kristin Maarks (Height: 5'6"; Weight: 141lbs; Age: 25 - Iron Tide) - Kristin was a fairly noted player for the Huskies, and is a fast, accurate, and agile player. She’s got a surprising mean streak, and will team up with Theo Braannur for just about everything. Kristin will probably be moderately-producing in terms of goals. She will likely not be penalized often. Last time, she and Braannur wound up being one of the highest producing duos in the World Cup of Hockey.

2nd Line - Rotating Players and Scoring Line

LW#11 Danielle Andicek (Height: 5'8"; Weight: 162lbs; Age: 28 - Vienna Valkyries) - Danielle is one of many returning faces on the team; she's everything that most of the team isn't: fast, agile, and very precise. Don't look at anyone besides her to do anything terribly finesse-based or acrobatic; she's the precision shooter and the most nimble Allamunnic player on the ice. That said, expect her to be moderately high-producing for goals. Danielle used to play (and lead) the Vienna Valkyries, a middle-of-the-road team that could usually manage moderate playoff success. She's also a lefty.

C#77 Maarkus Stahlburg (Height: 6'3"; Weight: 288lbs; Age: 32 - Copenhagen Crimson) - Team Captain - Stahlburg is the elder brother of World Bowl running-back Haanryk Stahlburg. He hits hard, doesn't apologize, and until recently had a horrifying lack of subtlety. However, he’s become a prolific puck-handler and shooter in the years that have elapsed since WCH 11, and has managed to turn himself into a major hazard for defenders everywhere. Along with defenseman Artie Weiss, he's the most prone to fighting, although his discipline is getting better, but, having also played defensive line on his high-school gridiron team, can't resist a good hit, legal or illegal, as often than not. His shooting is ridiculously powerful, and is becoming reasonably accurate, so expect his output to be a lot higher than it was last time, despite occasional inconsistancies in the polish to his play. Maarkus played for the league-dominating Copenhagen Crimson. Powerplayer and Penalty-Killer!

RW#31 Honorius Skmyt (Height: 6'2"; Weight: 272lbs; Age: 27 - St. Theodore Saints) - Honorius is a lot like Maarkus as he is now, except his aim is still better. He's still a little less powerful, though he's been working on that with good results. He's also a bit less prone to acts of senseless violence, which, depending on how you look at it, is either a good thing or a bad thing. He's still a bit easier to hold up on the ice and slow down, but he's still a lot stronger than he was last time around, and he's taken on a bit of Stahlburg's punishing style, as his more-accurate shooting has rubbed off on his center. Honorius is still notably more consistant than the recently-polished Maarkus, but he's not as accurate as Danielle; he's a middle-of-the-road shooter, who should produce moderately. Honorius plays for the Saints. Powerplayer and Penalty-Killer!

3rd Line - Enforcement and Grind-Out Line

LW#25 Haanryk Muhlburg (Height: 6'3"; Weight: 309lbs; Age: 25 - Copenhagen Crimson) - Haanryk is the leading enforcer for the New Copenhagen Crimson, and is usually only too happy to deliver jarring hits and play rough. He is very aggressive, and will usually put heavy hits on opponents, but will have low goal output. Another horror from the Crimson. Surprised? I think not. Penalty-Killer!

C#01 Thomas O'Daniel (Height: 6'5"; Weight: 291lbs; Age: 27 - Wilsonville Mariners) - Thomas is similar to Haanryk, if a little less thug-like in the way he does his job. He's a good defender, and, along with Daniel Peake, is the highest producing of the three enforcers. He played for the Mariners before all of this. Powerplayer and Penalty-Killer!

RW#04 Daniel Peake (Height: 6'4"; Weight: 287lbs; Age: 28 - Copenhagen Crimson) - Daniel is a very large, powerful, and accurate player, who is the most high-producing of the enforcers, and is murderous on the powerplay. He was a key player for the New Copenhagen Crimson. Powerplayer and Penalty-Killer!

Defensemen

LD#28 Artie Weiss (Height: 6'4"; Weight: 294lbs; Age: 31 - Wilsonville Mariners) - The worst person, possibly on the planet, in terms of acts of random aggression is Artie Weiss; Some can't resist a good hit; Weiss can't resist delivering any kind of hit, again, legal or illegal. His usual method of separating attackers from the puck is to simply ram into them or muscle in, leaving it to his teammates to make sure that they get the puck from there. Artie is pretty low-producing in terms of goals, even by defensemen's standards; there are three-year-olds with more subtlety and accuracy than him, but there are rhinos with less power. In other words, he'll get the puck in if he's perfectly on target. Which might happen once a year. Artie played for the Wilsonville Mariners.

RD#66 Haanryk Grimmur (Height: 6’1”; Weight: 295 lbs; Age: 26 - Iron Tide) – Why is there another new face among the right defensemen? Because both the Greens left when the Caps recalled them to full-time play in the major leagues, that’s why. After this show of no support from the domestic team, Capitals players were barred from playing on the team. Which is why Grimmur is a new face from the Crimson. He’s a rough-and-tumble player who should complement Artie Weiss in his mission to damage everything that moves, and most of the things that don’t move.

RD#18 Joe Willems (Height: 6'1"; Weight: 212lbs; Age: 26 - Iron Tide) - Joe is a competent player, and a good, reliable, stabilizing defender. Don't expect much scoring or penalties from him. Joe played for the Northwatch Rangers.

LD#55 Joe Quinn (Height: 6’0”; Weight: 274 lbs; Age: 25 - Iron Tide) – Who’s this guy? Only an excellent defenseman from the Barrons. Joe Quinn, in addition to being a very good defensive player, with good instincts, good speed, good size, and discipline (unlike a certain fellow left defenseman), is a good shooter and can turn a turnover into a score for the Tide. Look out for this kid.

RD#24 Sheila O'Connor (Height: 5'8"; Weight: 141lbs; Age: 25 - Iron Tide) - Sheila played for Vienna Huskies, and is a reliable defender, good at separating attackers from the puck by hook or by crook, and is more than willing to smack some heads to get it back and away from their own goal. Sheila is unlikely to be heavily penalized, and probably won't get too many goals, either. Perhaps a few assists.

LD#95 Thomas McKnight (Height: 6’0”; Weight: 274 lbs; Age: 24 - Iron Tide) – Last year, Thomas McKnight saw most of his limited action at center. However, with the team's needs at defenseman increasing, the powerful, versatile young man has moved to left defenseman, and

Goalkeepers

GK#88 Vaalhulm Aandrikson (Height: 6'7"; Weight: 318lbs; Age: 25 - Wilsonville Mariners) - Vaalhulm is a man that, simply put, clogs the goal. It is nearly impossible to get shots past him for the good and simple reason that there is not much of an opening ever present because of his size. He isn't fast, but at his size, and at goalkeeper, that's not exactly a major problem. He played well for the Wilsonville Mariners. He was an early draft pick a few years back, and led a nut-crushing defense.

GK#07 Aandrik Stok (Height: 6'1"; Weight: 241lbs; Age: 25 - Iron Tide) - Aandrik is a crazily-athletic goalie who specializes in making spectacular and efficient saves. He has great stamina, and is potentially the new man rising up to take the starting goalie spot. Aandrik is also an experienced goalie, even if he's a little young.

GK#04 Piotr Ivanovich (Height: 6'0"; Weight: 236lbs; Age: 29 - Danzig Knights) - Piotr is a good goalie who played for the Danzig Knights, and led a prime defense in the league. Piotr is noted for keeping his cool under pressure, even if he doesn't make the truely spectacular saves.

Nation: The Federal Republic of Allamunnic States
Team: Lancers
Coach: Greg Bragg (Age: 56)
Team/Uniform Colors: Royal Blue, Silver,
Home Stadium: Thomasburg North Municipal Center (seating: 6,254)
Style Modifier: -2
RP Permissions: Yes to all, but I'd appreciate a TG with anything other than single-game or regular things (nothing really out-there without prior TG approval)

This is an Allamunnic non-gridiron or non-hockey team: in other words, its filled with rejects from either of these two sports because they, alas, lacked the heavy build that most players in these two sports that hail from the Federation have: well, mostly. Even by international standards, they're rather large and not exactly light on their feet. The Lancers play the same way every other Allamunnic team in any sport does: physically. While this is great on the gridiron or the ice rink or hockey field, and maybe even the rugby or soccer pitch, this is not necessarily a good thing on the court. It is quite likely they will attract more than their fair share of penalties. Look for a moderately good defense, but keep in mind this is an Allamunnic team filled with incredibly inexperienced players: the Allamunnic National Professional League barely even qualifies as a proper league by other country's standards. Other teams seperate the cream of the crop, the best of the wheat from the rest of the wheat. This one tries to find the grain of wheat in all the chaff they got saddled with. Most aren't even all that tall, can't jump terribly well, and have to compensate by mass, blunt-force, and accuracy and quick shooting. Which, luckily, many being reject recievers, pitchers, and quarterbacks, many can. One of the other key points is that Allamunnic players, especially the larger ones, will tend to be rather good at recovering rebounds. They tend to be rather good at forcing themselves into the big ol' nasty scuffle under the basket to get the ball, and from there the teams focus more on eating the clock once they have a lead of any kind.

"Blunt Force" is the name of the game. It's an Allamunnic team. What did you expect?

Starting Players:
C#10 Steve Hanks (Male; 31; 6'1"; 250lbs) - Hanks is about as close to a star as you get within the rather low standards of Allamunnic basketball. He has a penchant for sinking three-pointers and makes layups look easy, can tear down the court while keeping the ball securely in his possession, and can pass as precisely and accurately, like a sharpshooter. The rest of the starters are at least decent, by international standards (even if they're nothing special), but Hanks is the glue that holds them together, is the gear that makes everything click.

PF#34 Derrik Holmes (Male; 27; 6'5"; 271lbs) - Holmes is a power-forward, and takes the 'power' part of that seriously. He's mostly useful to control court-space and set up plays for other people to make; he adds angles to attacks and can cover as well as anyone, but you'd have to be stupid to put the bulk of your scoring in his hands, since he's not all that accurate. He'll stick mostly to either short, easy shots or layups when called on to shoot a basket.

SF#44 Julia Daniels (Female; 28; 6'0"; 171lbs) - Daniels, by contrast, takes the 'shooting' part of her position quite seriously. She can get down court quickly and can make some beautiful, difficult shots, but she can't hold her ground for her life. If another angle needs to be opened up, don't use her to do it, instead, leaving her behind the three-point line as an option.

SG#23 Ian Harper (Male; 28; 6'6"; 259lbs) - Harper is another solid shooter; as a high school quarterback, he is very accurate with his shots, which is good, because like Daniels, don't go expecting many layups from him. He's probably the most likely of the starting five to dunk anyone, but don't hold your breath for it, because he's not all that likely to do it, attempting it or succeeding if he tries. Harper is quite good at coverage, and at disrupting shots, patterns and plays, so that's his main use.

PG#35 Kyle Stapleton (Male; 30; 6'4"; 273lbs) - Stapleton's probably the least-talented of the starting five. He's reliable and useful for cherry-picking easy shots, as he's extremely opportunistic, and he's useful, like Harper, for disrupting plays on defense and running interference on attacks. He's probably the most physical of the starting five, so therein lies his main strength; he can push other players around, within reason, and clear a path or add another point of attack.

Rotating Players:

C#99 Garret McKnight (Male; 23; 6'5"; 272 lbs) - McKnight is one of the more physical players available to Bragg. McKnight is possessed of some good passing abilities, and as such serves as a useful anchor and focal point for plays. His size makes him a good coverage man, and he can run interference on opposing team's attacks and can cause chaos and disorder on the attack, giving needed room to any teammate hoping to take a shot.

PF#34 Eric Daisley (Male; 23; 6'3"; 268lbs) - Daisley is a versatile player who can shoot solidly and can clear a path and force himself into the two-point zone with relative ease. Given his flexibility, he's rather useful and is a mainstay of the team's sustained efforts. His coverage is a little more physical than it probably needs to be, but somehow he tends to get away with it.

SF#32 Andrew Spurr (Male; 22; 6'2"; 265 lbs) - Spurr has strong shooting skills, particularly outside the foul line. Spurr's three-point shooting is excellent, to contrast with piss-poor layuping and mediocre field-goal shooting. He appears utterly incapable of dunking (which is okay, given his height). He's big enough to plow into a crowd and give himself a place to shoot from, or to give himself breathing room and time to get the ball to someone with a better shot.

SG#43 Jill Ford (Female; 21; 5'11"; 173 lbs) - Jill's shooting and running is nothing if not spectacular; she's probably either the second-fastest or fastest player on the team, with great breakaway abilities. She can reliably make two or three-pointers and has solid layup skills. Also, completely counter-intuitively, given her height, she can jump stupidly high, making her one of the team's few genuine dunkers. Add that to frequent underestimation because of her size, and you've got an extremely dangerous playmaker. Jill's only real caveat is inexperience, since she's fresh out of college, but even that should change with time.

PG#25 Doug Walker (Male; 23; 6'6"; 274lbs) - Add Doug to Jill and you've got a frightening tandem. Doug's got similar, if not as spectacular shooting ability, has the size and power to clear a path or give breathing room to his smaller partner in crime, and has a fair amount of dunking ability himself, since he is rather large, and has some great jumping ability. There are many reasons why the Allamunnic team rotates heavily, and Doug is one of them.

Reserve Players:

G#04 Greg Stover (Male; 24; 6'5"; 265lbs) - Greg is a new addition to the team's guards, having originally played center. Stover is a reliable, large player with the relatively common-place path clearing and defensive skills on the Allamunnic team. He's useful to insert in a pinch or if a player's injured, but he's nothing special.

G#02 Isaak Walters (Male; 22; 6'1"; 271lbs) - Walters is inexperience personified; he's demonstrated ability to make some lovely shots and force his way into the mess on the court to make some quick, easy lay-ups or cherry-picks, but he's extremely inconsistant on offense. His defensive skills are quite good though, so if the Lancers are anticipating having to grind things out with someone, he might well come in.

F#21 Darius McFadden (Male; 25; 6'5"; 278lbs) - Darius is a solid-all-around player, who's one of the better players from the domestic league who decided to join up with the Lancers. McFadden is fast (especially for his size) and has some great play-making ability. His play is a bit foul-heavy, hence his place as a reserve. That said, expect to see him play any time some physical play is needed, or a quick spark is needed for the offense, since he has a penchant for some spectacular offense, in contrast to some of the more workman-like players that start.

F#09 Archie Howe (Male; 23; 6'1"; 272lbs) - Archie, on the other hand, isn't all that good. His inclusion on the roster is a symptom of the overall crappiness of Allamunnic basketball. On his best days, Howe might be capable of holding his own against the more middling players on other teams' rosters. That said, his best days aren't all that frequent, and even then, it's only a possibility, not a liklihood.

C#16 Theo Deaderick (Male; 24; 6'7"; 274lbs) - Deaderick is a solid player who can hold his own against most opponents, most of the time. That said, if he gets into a funk, he's absolutely terrible, and it has been known to happen at particularly bad times, hence his reserve role. When he's on his 'A'-game, Deaderick is as solid as they come, but that's inconsistant enough that he won't get loads of playing time unless injuries start crippling the team.

C#17 Hailey Brenner (Female; 22; 5'11"; 170lbs) - Brenner will be a plenty-good player, everyone is quite sure, although there's some question as to why she's a center. Hailey's playing-style is completely at odds with most Allamunnic centers, since she's much more along the lines of a play-maker than a supporting player. Brenner's main weakness is inexperience and a tendency to become rather unreliable in high-pressure situations, hence her reserve role. If she can ever shake that off, she might become a more regular fixture on the active team. Until then, don't expect to see a whole lot of her.

Country: Allamunnic States
Team: Volunteers
Coach: Frank McDowell (Age: 39)
Style Modifier: +2 (Most Offensive)
Team Colors: Grey, Blue
Home Field: Federal Steel Field (Capacity: 142,000 people)

RP Permissions: Do you know what? If you're doing anything outside of the scorers, TG for approval first. There, that's out of the way.
RP Scorers: Yes, but keep in mind team's approach (I still know little of lax, so I still don't really know what that means for this)
GodMod Scores: Make it interesting, if you absolutely must do this. TG for approval first.
RP Injuries: Nothing beyond game-ending. I make the call beyond that. TG for permission first, preferably.
GodMod Injuries: Nothing beyond game-ending. TG for permission first.
GodMod "Other" Events: Only if you do something fun or awesome with it. Boring people will be shot.
Penalize/Eject Players: Yep. Make sure its for a charicteristic penalty, though. Usually roughness-related or somesuch.

Goalkeepers

#08 - Leopold Fuchs (6'0", 256lbs, Age: 26) - A bit earlier than anyone would have liked (including him), it seems that Leo's time in the spotlight has come. Faced with the same gruelling play as always, the Vols have turned to the one goalie they could find who would quit the domestic league to practice and play year-round with the Vols. With any luck, this will be a job he's ready for.

Defenders

RD#41 - John Willems (6'1", 238lbs, Age: 23) - John is a little bit young, and is just out of college; his skills are still very much developing, and he is a very good player, but he's a little prone to fluctuations in his performance. Well, he was, but he's proven far more steady of late, and is rather likely to rotate. He's a little less 'grind-it-out' minded and tends instead to focus on simply forcing turnovers, and so he adds a little more versatility to the defense.

MD#49 - Ryan Oslo (6'0", 224lbs, Age: 26) - Oslo is one of many new faces on the team. He's a committed four-year veteran player who was willing to renounce his commitments in the newly-booming Allamunnic Lacrosse League to come play for the Volunteers. He's not too much unlike the old breed of Allamunnic defensive player, although he is a little bit lighter and faster than the old norm was. More than anything, though, he's still the type of physical player that Coach McDowell has always favored.

LD#46 - Slava Hendriks (5'5", 138lbs, Age: 26) - Slava is a very fast, very skilled and plenty physical, in contrast to the rest of the defensive players. Slava specializes in forcing turnovers, rather than simply grinding down and wearing out attackers. Slava's a proven commodity on a team that doesn't have many.

Midfielders

RM#32 - Zak Mueller (6'4", 228lbs, Age: 23) - Zak may not be the kid of the team anymore, but he's still young, and, more to the point, like most of the team, is still a young player who has been forced to assume a greater role because of the new eligibility rules for the national team. Mueller's certainly got plenty of physical talent, and his relatively long tenure on the team (he's one of only a handful of players remaining from the Vols' WLC 7 championship run), all of which place him in the position of one of the team's new leaders.

CM#38 - Walter Marsh (6'1", 236lbs, Age: 30) - Walter Marsh is among the oldest, most experienced players still with the Vols. Like fellow right-midfielder Zak Mueller, he was on hand for the team's last championship run. And like Mueller, he's had to step into a leadership role. Formerly a veteran substitute position player, Marsh has stepped up admirably in the team's leadership and experience vacuum to teach the younger players and cover for them when they inevitably make mistakes in their on-the-job-training (as it were.

LM#36 - Cassie Downing (5'6", 144lbs, Age: 20) - Cassie is something of a sporting prodigy in the Federation, in Field Hockey and Track and Field, most notably. Lacrosse is, apparently, no no exception to her talents, and she's quite fast, with a fair amount of power. She lacks a certain amount of refinement in her playing, because of inexperience, but she's fairly good. That said, like most of the younger players on the team, Cassie is being pushed into a position where she is being required to grow up and assume more responsibility on the field then may be advisable.

Attackers

RA#15 - John Dahlgren (6'1", 268lbs, Age: 26) - John has had the unenviable task of going from a supporting player to a prolific group of scorers to the stabilizing veteran in a group of attackers who are by and large only barely out of college. Dahlgren will probably account for considerably more assists than goals, and will be focused largely on covering for the mistakes of his younger, less experienced fellow attackers.

CA#18 - Joanna Sommers (5'8", 141lbs, Age: 22) - Sommers is a reliable and skilled player, who lacks some of the flash and awe-inspiring ability of some of her team-mates, and is still developing her skills. But for all that she's still developing, it had better happen fast; the Vols will have to lean on their attackers with their former leading scorers gone to the domestic league.

LA#17 - Erika Shoenburg (5'4", 137lbs, Age: 22) - Erika, like Joanna, has been pitched into a starting role probably earlier than she should have been. While so far in practice she's held up admirably, there are questions about whether or not she'll be able to play full games. Which, given the Vols current lack of substitutes, is a major concern.

Reserves

GR#31 - Gaarutt Aronbacher (6'0", 244lbs, Age: 26) - When the new rules for national team eligibility came through, Gaarutt was among the first players to renounce their domestic league commitments. Aronbacher, as a result of the Vols' general short-staffedness, has been required to learn all of the positions and act as a general reserve and substitute for any player that needs breather or is injured. Given his natural talent, he's as well suited to most of the positions as anyone, but he's also still learning to some extent for his new roles (with the exception of attacker), and so he'll probably make some mistakes in other positions.

Overview:

Plenty has changed since the Vols made a championship run back in the seventh World Lacrosse Championship tournament. A lot of it happened in the year between WLC's 9 and 10.

In the light of the team's sliding performances in the 8th and 9th editions of the tournament, Coach McDowell had tightened the restrictions on team eligibility, namely that the 'Volunteer' system that gave the team its name would return in full effect. All players who wished to remain on the team were required to renounce their domestic league committments. Unfortunately, many did not, and the team lost its leading scorers and leaders in the Sturgis brothers, among others.

With that trial now on the Vols, McDowell has been forced to turn to a group of considerably younger, less-experienced group of players, many of whom are just barely out of college (and one, Cassie Downing, isn't even out of college yet, and is the lone exception to the Volunteer rule, so that she can finish her education).

Unfortunately, what it also means is that the Vols are rather short-handed; McDowell was barely able to find enough players to fill the roster and field a team for the 10th WLC, meaning the Vols as they are now have no substitutes. Expect exhaustion to take a toll on the players, along with simple fatigue, weariness, and aching pain.

Most squads, in the face of these problems, would declare the whole thing a 'rebuilding year' and would aim simply for a playoff berth. But most teams don't have the Volunteers of the Allamunnic States' history. McDowell, with the full backing of all the players, have declared that their intent is to win another championship, odds be damned. But if they are going to, this team is going to have to grow up. Fast.

Info:

The Blue-and-Grey are a developing team, and have had little success in their two major outings. Since they are an Allamunnic team, the Blue-and-Grey are mostly power-oriented and running oriented, as well as focusing on being difficult to bring down, rather than speed and passing.

The Federalists have a focus primarily on pitching and defense; a few sluggers provide most of their offense, and they tend to be lucky to get more than two or three runs a game. They are possessed of a goodly amount of pitching depth, which combined with a flexible group of fielders, makes for good defense.

9. Zack Clijsters (#22, Designated Hitter, Male, Left, Age: 18; 6'2"; 230lbs)

Impact Players:

Theo Dunmaar (#05, First Baseman, Male, Right-Handed, Age: 31; 5'11"; 203lbs) - Dunnmaar is a eleven-year veteran of the Allamunnic domestic league, which has more in common with a semi-pro league than a proper professional one. He's a complete package player, capable of slugging with the best of them, and an excellent first baseman. He makes catches efficiently, and he's accurate with his throws. He tends to hit balls towards left field.

Cliff Gaines (#07, Pitcher, Male, Right, Age: 21, 5'10"; 201lbs) - Cliff is a young pitching ace who the national team, in its building efforts, managed to convince to join up. He's thrown a 100-mile-an-hour fastball, and his change-up's still nasty fast with a wicked curve on it. Cliff's already had to undergo Tommy-John surgery (in college, he suffered an injured ligament in his elbow), which seemed to help him for the better. He seems to be at the top of his game, without much hope of significant improvement. The real trick will be whether or not he can maintain his current play.

Joe Gaither (#49, Closing Pitcher, Male, Left, Age: 20; 6'0"; 200lbs) - Joe is not the ace that Gaines is, but he's a bit smarter about how he changes his throws and uses them. His catching isn't half bad, either, so he's a good general defensive player. His smart play makes his closing a pretty safe bet for the team when they want to preserve a late lead.

Zack Clijsters (#22, Designated Hitter, Male, Left, Age: 18; 6'2"; 230lbs) - Clijsters is probably the best slugger the team has available to it, hence why he bats clean-up. Clijsters' form could be improved, hence why he came to the national team; he figured playing with the best, internationally, might get him recognition and a chance to join up with a coaching staff, either on the national or with a foreign league team, to help him reach the peak of his game. At 18, he's got plenty of good baseball in him.

Katie Dupont (#29, Pitcher, Female, Right, Age: 22; 5'5"; 135lbs) - Dupont lacks Gaines' fastball speed, but she makes up for it with a smart approach and a wide variety of changeups that make her a dangerous option on the mound. Dupont is another strong general defensive player to boot, and makes for a useful starting pitcher herself.

Nation: Federal Republic of Allamunnic States
Team: Iron Belles
Head Coach: Sarah Johnson (Age: 54)
Skill Modifier: -2

Overview:
Like rugby, field hockey is one of the few sports in the Federation which is not commonly played coed. Field Hockey remains an exclusively-female sport at the professional level, and almost exclusively so at the college level. Like most Allamunnic teams, physical play is a focus, and a defensive outlook predominates. Ball-control is a key part of the Belle's game, as is Allamunnic superstar Cassie Downing (of Track & Field and Lacrosse fame).

Goalkeepers:
#12 - Theodura Roen - (24; 5'6"; 146lbs)*
#03 - Andrea Holms - (22; 5'7"; 141lbs)

Field Players:
#04 - Sheila Brenner - (23; 5'4"; 151lbs)*
#06 - Hailey Marshall - (25; 5'5"; 148lbs)*
#23 - Ellie Gaines - (24; 5'7"; 143lbs)*
#14 - Joanna Kole - (26; 5'6"; 141lbs)
#19 - Elana Junnsunn - (25; 5'6"; 145lbs)*
#25 - Jill Cooper - (22; 5'4"; 135lbs)*
#07 - Cassie Downing - (20, 5'6", 144lbs)*
#09 - Erin Holmgren - (27; 5'6"; 147lbs)
#11 - Zoe Stables - (16; 5'3"; 108lbs)
#26 - Mare Aronmunn - (26; 5'7"; 152lbs)*
#01 - Nicole Vasquez - (24; 5'6"; 143lbs)*

Impact Players:

Elana Junnsunn - (Age: 25; 5'6"; 141lbs) - Junnsunn is a good all-around player who specializes on defense and ball-control; Junnsunn can muscle in to get the ball, and then use her strength to keep possession of it and eat clock, or get the ball to teammates who are in position to make plays. Nimble and athletic, she's also more than capable of making those plays herself.

Cassie Downing - (Age: 20; 5'6"; 144lbs) - Cassie is something of a sporting superstar in the Federation; she's well known in Track & Field and as the team MVP of the World Champion lacrosse team. Downing is a key offensive player especially; though she can play out possession and kill time, or play good defense, Downing has a knack for finding the goal and racking up points for the team.

Zoe Stables - (16; 5'3"; 108lbs) - Along with Downing, Stables has become something of a well-known figure, bordering on cultural icon. Stables is well known as being the only non-legally-adult member of a national team. This has at times caught her an unwanted variety of attention on message boards, but on the whole tends to lead to plenty of impressed people. Stables is a strong offensive player, and is excellent at setting up plays for teammates as well. She's not so good on defense, since she's a bit on the small side.

INDOOR VOLLEYBALL

Men's Squad
Starters
#5 - Mike Pike - (24; 6'4"; 194lbs)
#3 - Rick Stokes - (26; 6'3"; 187lbs)
#8 - Charlie Michaels - (25; 6'4"; 183lbs)
#2 - Isaak Horst - (24; 6'3"; 193lbs)
#9 - Fredrick Ulst - (25; 6'2"; 191lbs)
#4 - Junn Dannalsunn - (22; 6'4"; 205lbs)

Rotating Players
#11 - David Johnson - (26; 6'5"; 187lbs)
#14 - William Schmidt - (24; 6'4"; 198lbs)
#18 - Matt Stauffen - (25; 6'5"; 209lbs)
#13 - Greg Crist - (26; 6'3"; 189lbs)
#12 - Dorik Strum - (23; 6'6"; 194lbs)
#19 - Henri Dufief - (25; 6'8"; 201lbs)

The men's team is fairly good, but nothing special.

Women's Squad
Starters
#01 Zofya Thurmunn - (20; 6'0"; 142lbs)
#07 Marie Renault - (20; 5'11"; 138lbs)
#02 Kirstin Steyer - (17; 6'1"; 141lbs)
#05 Myka Erikson - (18; 6'0"; 134lbs)
#09 Sheila Flannegan - (18; 6'0"; 137lbs)
#06 Daniella Danzig - (22; 6'1"; 141lbs)

Rotating Players
#14 - Dana Bering - (24; 6'2"; 128lbs)
#17 - Joanna Harper - (20; 6'3"; 134lbs)
#13 - Hannah Grear - (22; 6'4"; 129lbs)
#18 - Layla Asmail - (25; 6'3"; 135lbs)
#11 - Francine Darren - (22; 6'2"; 131lbs)
#15 - Jenna Zimmermann - (20; 6'1"; 131lbs)

The Allamunnic women's volleyball team, on the other hand, is something of a cultural thing, mostly because of the volleyball shorts and the physical appearance of it's members. That they are actually fairly good certainly doesn't hurt.

Women's Soccer National Team

Goalkeeper

#07 - Tara Hassan - (18; 5'6"; 134lbs, Reserve Goalkeeper) - Tara is a newly-recruited goalkeeper (straight out of high school), with a certain amount of natural talent. Her lack of experience against a high level of opponents means that there isn't a good indication of how good or bad she is, so she serves as a reserve until the actual extent of her talents can be determined.

Backfield:

#37 - Nicole Hartley - (29; 5'7"; 178lbs, STARTER, LEFT BACKFIELDER) - Nicole is faster than most of the other backfielders, and it shows. She also has more finesse control, if lacking some of their power and physicality. But that doesn't mean that opponents shouldn't be wary of her; like most Allamunnic players, she does play physically. Simply not as much as some of her teammates.

Centerfield:

#11 - Lily Stokes - (26; 5'6"; 151lbs, RIGHT OUTSIDE CENTERFIELD) - Lily is a generally fast, versatile, attacking and goal-shooting centerfielder, rather than one geared towards ball-control. She's more likely to help keep the ball moving, play defense, or move the ball around in the center-field to the strikers, or to help set up attacks and other plays with the strikers or other centerfielders.

#61 - Chloe Sharpes - (21; 5'7"; 151lbs, Left Outside Centerfield) - Sharpes is a finesse-geared player who will probably be used primarily to add to an attack or to keep the ball moving downfield rather than simply control it. Sharpes can shoot sufficiently that she is a threat on attack, who can be inserted in different packages to add potency to the Blue's attack.

Strikers:

#25 - Kelly Horst - (18; 5'4"; 130lbs, Right Forward) - Kelly is John Horst's younger sister.
