Are schools in your nation exclusively public or private, or do both types of schools exist?
Both, even since the first Jihd (1450) where all children and men must learn religious teaching (especially the Muslim)

Female students however uses long-sleeve white shirt (sometime short-sleeve only for non-Muslims) and pinafore (until knee only for non-Muslims).

On Friday or Saturday, students will go home early at least before 11:45 for the Muslims to perform Friday prayer and the SDA to do their Sabbath. In 12 hours school day, they will have additional 1 hours of recess starting from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm to perform said prayers.

If there are after-class activities, additional 2 hours are added. However, for 12 hours school day, 2 hours will decreased and replaced with the additional 2 hours.

Are schools in your nation exclusively public or private, or do both types of schools exist? Education is handled exclusively by private institutions with no connections to the state.

Is education compulsory? If yes, until what age? No, of course it is not, but it is a rare parent who does not secure at least some education for their offspring.

Are uniforms required? If yes, what do they look like? As schools are 100% private, this varies.

What values do your nations' schools instill? In addition to practical learning such as maths, social skills, chemistry, technical skills and the like, our schools tend to strive to instill in our youth ideas of the value of liberty and personal rights, and the responsibilities of a Freeman in the world today.

Is religion allowed in schools? Yes, of course. To attempt to exclude religion from society is a fool's errand at best.

What language(s) are classes conducted in? Most will be conducted in English, but some ethnic schools use other languages.

How long is a typical school day? What days of the week are classes held? Most schools run from Monday to Friday, and from 9 AM to 5 PM or so, with many variations.

What classes are compulsory? This varies by school, but usually courses such as mathematics, civics, law, history, and the like will be mandatory in most schools.

What kinds of elective classes are available, if any? This varies widely between schools.

Do students get lunch/break periods? Generally speaking, yes.

Most popular after-school programs? Again, this is massively varied, with everything from golf, horseback riding, football, MMA, gun clubs, and more.

How is discipline handled in your nations' schools? Again, this varies, but corporal punishment is not allowed by law.

Can students be held back for poor performance? In most schools, this is entirely possible.

Are schools in your nation exclusively public or private, or do both types of schools exist? Schools are public, unless you are royalty. Royal children are homeschooled.
Is education compulsory? If yes, until what age? Education is compulsory until the age of 16, unless you've been expelled. This means boys are not required to complete their education, since the boys' school goes until age 18. However, if a boy doesn't complete his education, he cannot become a knight, so in practice, boys will complete their education unless they are expelled or otherwise unable to proceed.
Are uniforms required? If yes, what do they look like? Yes. They are completely grey. Boys wear a shirt and pants or a toga. Girls wear a shirt and skirt or a toga.
What values do your nations' schools instill? The values of Weuh. Examples: emotionlessness, loyalty to the Wiewawoeian king and system, obedience… They also learn traditional gender roles (boys learn to fight and hunt; girls learn to cook).
Is religion allowed in schools? Depends what you call "religion", but in general, I'd say no.
What language(s) are classes conducted in? W.E. or C.W., depending on what city or town you are in. It's possible that there is some crazy school up in the North that teaches in A.W., but this is extremely confusing and not the common procedure.

How long is a typical school day? What days of the week are classes held? The First Children's School (preschool) is only a few hours a day. The Second Children's School (kindergarten and first grade) has days of six hours a day, including lunch. The CTC (age 7.5-18 for boys and age 7.5-16 for girls) has eight or nine hour days, including lunch.
What classes are compulsory?
What kinds of elective classes are available, if any? None.
Do students get lunch/break periods? Yes. All schools have a lunch period, though students are not allowed to chat during lunch. Both Children's Schools have a "playtime" period: the toddlers' playtime consists of free play (alone or with each other) and reading picture books; the Second Children's School's playtime enforces Wiewawoeian values during the playing (children are taught to play "appropriately"). The CTC does not have playtime: older children are not allowed to play.
Most popular after-school programs? There are no organized after-school programs.
How is discipline handled in your nations' schools? Teachers are strict and everyone must behave "appropriately". Aside from the usual punishments (like being hit on the hand with a ruler), CTC also uses a point system: if a student behaves badly (including things like smiling or possessing an illegal object), has an unusual appearance, or makes a mistake, they get a certain amount of "punishment points". Students can also repay their mistakes by tattling or doing chores for the school: in these cases, a few punishment points will be erased from the child's record. There is a maximum amount of points a student can get per day and a maximum amount they can have in total. If a student gets more points than either of these maximums, they will be expelled.
Can students be held back for poor performance? No, they would be expelled.

Are schools in your nation exclusively public or private, or do both types of schools exist?
Education is exclusively a state prerogative, so all educational establishments are operated by the state.
Is education compulsory? If yes, until what age?
Sidhae are cyborgs, built to adult size, so that makes the process of educating them markedly different from organic beings. All Sidhae have a Standard Educational Data Package installed by the time of their activation, which is roughly equivalent to high-school education. How they educate themselves from there on is completely up to themselves.
Are uniforms required? If yes, what do they look like?
Uniforms of various kinds are pretty much universal throughout Sidh society. Students of universities, colleges and technicums naturally have their own, distinguishing them as members of their particular establishment.
What values do your nations' schools instill?
Young Sidhae are encouraged to be ardently patriotic, selflessly devoted to the service of their empire, and suspicious of any and all outsiders. The basis of this indoctrination is already encoded into their minds by the SEDP, and higher educational establishments only reinforce that indoctrination.
Is religion allowed in schools?
The Way is the only "religion" allowed or tolerated in Sidh society at large, educational facilities being no exception.
What language(s) are classes conducted in?
Sidh, obviously. Foreign languages are usually downloaded and installed as software rather than studied in classes, though it still requires some practice to become proficient at them.

How long is a typical school day? What days of the week are classes held?
Studies take place during weekdays, and go on as a regular work day, from 0800 to 1700.
What classes are compulsory?
Imperial history, Patriotic education, and Civil defense classes are a requirement in all branches of study regardless of their subject or specialization.
What kinds of elective classes are available, if any?
Students are required to pick at least one elective class for each year in order to accumulate the necessary score for graduation. The subjects of these classes vary greatly, and can be anything from a foreign language to starship navigation.
Do students get lunch/break periods?
Obviously they do. A typical break is 15 minutes, with a lunch break of 1 hour in the mid-day. Sometimes students get gaps of several hours between lectures, which they can spend studying on their own or resting.
Most popular after-school programs?
Young Sidhae enrolled in universities most often partake in one of their university's sports teams, seeing it as a matter of pride to represent their place of study.
How is discipline handled in your nations' schools?
Discipline isn't really a problem in Sidh educational establishments. Being manufactured to adult size and coded to function as capable adults, even young Sidhae fresh from the progenitory aren't children who are herded in schools and made to spend time there against their will. Sidh youngsters know for a fact that improving their education is expected but voluntary, and if they want to get ahead in life, that is the way, so the ones who choose to study know why they are there and are highly motivated. Any misconduct on their part can be punished with either a reprimand, a fine, or in the worst cases expulsion.
Can students be held back for poor performance?
Absolutely. Education in the Imperium is free, but that doesn't mean the state will allow underperformers to drag along at it's expense. Examinations are tough and quickly separate wheat from chaff - if a student can't make the cut, he drops out and that's the end of it.
Freedom doesn't mean being able to do as one please, but rather not to do as one doesn't please.

A fool sees religion as the truth. A smart man sees religion as a lie. A ruler sees religion as a useful tool.

The more God in one's mouth, the less in one's heart.

What values do your nations' schools instill? Patriotism, Freedom, Humility, Candour.

Are schools in your nation exclusively public or private, or do both types of schools exist?
Education for the common folk is predominated by elementary schools funded by the clerical establishment and local aristocracy, while education for the elite class is usually provided by private tutors. However, the Imperial Court also provides literacy and training programs in more underdeveloped regions as well as a patronage system similar to school voucher in barbarian states. In the Imperial Realm, madrasa refers to higher education similar to Western colleges, while maktab refers to primary and secondary education.

Is education compulsory? If yes, until what age?
Education is compulsory over an age range starting between five and eight and ending somewhere between ages fourteen and sixteen, depending on the policies set by local authority in question.

Are uniforms required? If yes, what do they look like?
Depending on the institution in question, although the requirement of modest clothing is universal.

What values do your nations' schools instill?
Piety, discretion, respect, proper adherence to tradition, diligence.

Is religion allowed in schools?
As the Imperial education system is dominated by the clergy, yes.

What language(s) are classes conducted in?
Typically vernacular language within said area, also to some extent Classical Arabic and Farsi.

How long is a typical school day? What days of the week are classes held?
Depending on the institution in question, some schools last from daybreak well until midnight while others are separated into "morning" and "afternoon" classes, each lasting from three to five hours. Friday and Saturday are regarded as traditional weekend in the Imperial Realm.

What classes are compulsory?
Also depending on the institution, typically the education in the maktab encompasses Islamic metaphysics, scriptural sciences, language, literature, Islamic ethics, and basic manual skills---these are widely considered as the most elementary subjects that should be taught in all institutions. Some schools also taught "rational sciences" such as mathematics, geography, physics, and chemistry, or arts and physical exercises such as archery and swimming per the Prophet's instruction.

What kinds of elective classes are available, if any?
Specialized subjects started from the secondary level of the maktab, ranging from literature, craftmanship, commerce, medicine, geometry, numerology, legal jurisprudence, philosophy, etc etc. Specifics depending on the institution in question.

Do students get lunch/break periods?
There's no universal standard, but the Imperial authority monitors the institutions to ensure the well-being of Darussian pupils regardless of the system implemented.

Most popular after-school programs?
Chess, polo, musical ensemble.

How is discipline handled in your nations' schools?
Corporal punishment is widely used and permitted as long as no permanent mark is left on the pupil's body, usually done publicly to ensure humiliation.

Can students be held back for poor performance?
Generally yes, although depending on the institution in question.

Good morning,
the situation in the Free Lands is like to this:

Are schools in your nation exclusively public or private, or do both types of schools exist?
Most schools are public, while I am not sure about how to classify the Temple Schools.
Is education compulsory? If yes, until what age?
Yes, until Graduation from 10th class regardless of age. Most student are between 15 and 17 Springs by that time.
Are uniforms required? If yes, what do they look like?
Depends on the school, if uniforms are required or not, or how they look.
What values do your nations' schools instill?
Respect for both oneself, others and what is around a person, strength and courage. The constant pursuit of wisdom, not knowledge, but wisdom, is also high on the agenda, as well as the betterment of oneself.
Is religion allowed in schools?
Yes, both in the City-Schools and in the Temple-Schools. For the Selkie in attendance, there is usually a small grove set aside on the grounds for prayers. Knowledge about other religions is taught as well in a subject called Religious Sciences.
What language(s) are classes conducted in?
Except for language classes, which are after a certain degree of knowledge held in the language taught, all lessons are in Selkie.

How long is a typical school day? What days of the week are classes held?
The length of the school day depends on the grade one is in, but for the oldest students, school goes from 9 o'clock a.m. to 2 o'clock p.m., lasting for six periods of 45 minutes and breaks inbetween, with after-school activities usually starting at 3 o'clock p.m.. School's in session from Monday to Friday with elective classes on Saturday.
What classes are compulsory?
History, Physical Education/Sports, Philosophy, Grammar Class/Languge, Literature and Poetry, English, one more foreign language, Mathematics, Sciences, Music, Art, Geography (only in elementary school).
What kinds of elective classes are available, if any?
Elaborations of Sciences, mainly Physics, Biology and Chemistry, Home Economics, Geography (as continued from elementary school) and then it depends on the school in question.
Do students get lunch/break periods?
They get breaks and there is lunch break between 2 and 3 o'clock p.m..
Most popular after-school programs?
Called after-school activities or clubs here, there popularity widely depends on the area in question. Generally speaking, though, are musical clubs well received and sports club tend to be rather popular as well.
How is discipline handled in your nations' schools?
Helping the groundskeepers is one form of punishment, detention is another one, banning from after-school activities is also practiced, suspension is the last resort. Corporal punishment is forbidden, but Sports Teachers tend to use misbehaving students as practice dummies.
Can students be held back for poor performance?
    Yes.
