How strict are your nation's borders? Our boders aren't very strict but there are large patrols along the border that occur once a week.

From where do the majority of your nation's immigrants come from? China, Korea, Phillipines, and Brazil

How long does it take for an immigrant to become a legal citizen in your nation/what are the requirements? The requirements of becoming a citizen are:
  • Must have had a domicile address in Toropikaru for over 8 consecutive years
  • Must be a legal adult according to Karunese Civil Law
  • Must have good conduct
  • Must have a stable income of at least 420,000回(richi)
  • Must have basic knowledge of befitting of a Karunese national; such as understanding of the Karunese language, customs, and culture

Does your nation take in refugees? If so, from where? How are they accommodated? Do they need to have a sponsor before they can enter? Yes, but only 1,000 refugees are accepted per year. They all must have a sponsor. They are accommodated with free public housing and education(including language classes for both children and adults). All refugees are expected to find work and after 2 years they are required to move from public housing.

In general, what is the population's stance on immigrants/refugees? What is your native population's opinion of them (are they looked down upon, accepted, etc)? They are mostly accepted.

What percentage of your population are immigrants? .6%

Where do most of your nation's immigrants/refugees tend to live? Most immigrants live in big cities.

What kind of paperwork is required for entry/immigration into your nation? Are these papers hard to obtain? Alien Registration Card(ARC), passport, and medical records. Foreigners are required to get an ARC if they plan on staying for over 90 days and they must go through an extensive background check to receive it.

What is your nation's policy on visitors from another nation/tourists into your nation? They are welcome as long as they don't break the law.

Would your nation accept refugees from a country it was fighting in a war against? NO

Does your nation have anything like green cards/visas? Visas exist.

How strict are your nation's borders? Immigration and customs clearance are required before entry - this can be done at any official port of entry. Those with criminal histories are denied entry. Those unable to identify will be denied entry. Those carrying criminal contraband (ex. drugs, child pornography) are immediately arrested. Those carrying regular contraband (ex. firearms, unapproved foodstuffs) may face an immediately payabled fine unless said items were declared and surrendered. Otherwise, welcome to Neonix.

How strict are your nation's borders?
Somewhat lax. If you travel along major highways, you'll encounter an official port of entry, which looks more like a toll station than a border. Your passport and vehicle will be inspected, entered into a computer database, and your passport will get stamped with a time and date of entry. Past that, you might encounter a random police checkpoint to ensure people don't slip through the cracks. Even then, a missing passport stamp can be chalked up to an honest mistake or tourist ignorance. Otherwise, as long as your passport is in order and there isn't any contraband in your car, you'll be let in.

From where do the majority of your nation's immigrants come from?
Mainly the surrounding area and neighboring countries.

How long does it take for an immigrant to become a legal citizen in your nation/what are the requirements?
If marrying a citizen, citizenship can be granted immediately*. Otherwise, after about five years for citizenship through naturalization. After 1 year of continuous living and working in the city, an immigrant can apply for permanent residence. Permanent resident status allows individuals to live and work in the country without having to renew a visa every year. After three continuous years in the city as a permanent resident, the individual can apply for full citizenship by passing a citizenship test, which screens for a basic knowledge of Baudevauxian law, cultural knowledge and command of the French language.

*Regardless of how the status is obtained, new citizens are required to surrender all foreign passports held and renounce any other citizenship. A new passport, ID card and official certificate of citizenship will be issued to them. The new citizen may also legally change their name at this time.

Does your nation take in refugees? If so, from where? How are they accommodated? Do they need to have a sponsor before they can enter?
Currently there is no compassionate entry / refugee program. All immigrants go through the same process.

In general, what is the population's stance on immigrants/refugees? What is your native population's opinion of them (are they looked down upon, accepted, etc)?
If you can pay your bills, behave yourself and speak half-decent French, you'll be viewed as a Baudevauxian just like anyone else. That's really all we ask.

Are immigrants required to learn your nation's first language/any other things to assimilate into your nation's culture?
See above. French is a requirement. A foreign accent, awkward word choice or mixed-up grammar is forgiven as long as a sincere effort is made.

What percentage of your population are immigrants?
About 14%. We welcome our expat population.

Where do most of your nation's immigrants/refugees tend to live?
The 17th Arrondissement is known as the Quartier étranger, or Foreign Quarter. Expats from all nations congregate there due to low rent prices, cheap cafés and bohemian culture.

What kind of paperwork is required for entry/immigration into your nation? Are these papers hard to obtain?
A simple passport stamp obtained at a border checkpoint will get you in for 30 days. Any longer than that, and you'll need to apply for a visa. Visas can be obtained at the border, or by contacting the immigration office in advance. The whole process takes about ten minutes and incurs a fee. Visas are good for 12 months, after which they must be renewed, or the person must leave the country. There are a few types of visas:

- Travel Visa: The individual intends to visit or transit through the country over a term longer than 30 days. Costs about $50 USD.
- Work Visa: The individual intends to seek employment in the country, or has already been hired. Costs about $200 USD.
- Student Visa: The individual intends to attend an educational instituation in the country. Costs about $150.

What is your nation's policy on visitors from another nation/tourists into your nation?
We welcome all tourists, as long as they behave themselves.

Would your nation accept refugees from a country it was fighting in a war against?
Absolutely not.

Does your nation have anything like green cards/visas?
The work visa is essentially a green card.
