Men and women are held to a number of identical virtues and a smaller amount of contrasting virtues to reflect the roles of their sexes played out biologically and naturally. Men are the providers, the soldiers, and the leaders of the state. Women are the homemakers, the wives, and the mothers. When these roles are embodied to their utmost, the complement one another perfectly.

Whilst the idea of singular marriage is promoted, with a woman more so praised for having just one husband, divorce can happen for a number of reasons and there's no stigma to it unless a certain act caused it. An offence by the woman such as adultery will end their marriage. Her husband will be permitted to take her dowry as his own assets, as well as compensation from the lover. The symbolic act of divorce in this instance is the casting of the woman from the house. The husband is legally obliged to return to her the property she brought to the marriage, but typically this will be offered to her father as he is the entrusted guardian.
