Abortion in your nation

In the Second Roman Empire, abortion since 1840 is PROHIBITED in all regions of the country, but in 1998 a bill created by Senator Marcelo Rossi in which women victims of rape have the right to abortion up to 3 weeks, where the fetus already have advanced systems and feel some kind of pains.

This bill was approved by 196 of the 361 senators, most of them liberal and went live a year later in 1999.

Despite the law, there are very few rare rape in the empire (the latter being in 2014) which made only a small portion of women abort. According to the latest census of 2015, only 12,102 women have aborted in the last 15 years, which is less than 2% of the population.

Abortion is fully legal, and was even mandatory for those carrying unborn human-vampire children, or those with genetic defects during the reign of Ingal III.

Nowadays, they're fairly common, but people don't make much of it.

Abortion is used for Eugenics and in cases of Rape. The government prohibits the abortion of a healthy child, because the government wants to increase the population.

Abortion is outlawed, with exceptions in cases such as rape (where abortion is voluntary) or cases involving mixed-race parents, pregnancies resulting from an incestual relationship, or wherein the fetus has a harmful genetic disorder, in which abortion is mandatory.

Abortion is completely legal in Rhodevus, and can be done without the consent or knowledge of parents, guardians, spouses, etc. It is actually one of the only medical practices that can be completed on a minor without the consent or knowledge of a parent or guardian (although it is often encouraged to let the guardian know what is going on, the doctors are not legally allowed to discuss anything with the guardians).

Abortion is not made a huge fuss about.

Completely legal. Also, the government has a say when you get an abortion.

Abortion is legal, but highly discouraged. Even free abortion centers in the inner city struggle to keep up with demand. So, the Administration of Health and Safety is proposing a new ad campaign for adoption centers. Both incoming and outgoing adoptions will be featured.

Another way to solve a problem is to prevent it from ever happening. Zaydra has also decided to enforce strict contraception laws in order to avoid "accidents". Our most hardworking sweatshop employees are doing their best to create state-of-the-art condoms and birth control pills with a 100% success rate. If they didn't work, then you probably did it wrong.

Abortion rarely happens in Arkosis, in face an abortion occurs at an average of only one every 25 years in Arkosis except in cases where abortion is done to save the mother if it is at a point where the baby can't be saved. This stems from the belief that if there is an alternative option it should be used.

Abortions are illegal in Valgora, except for a few exceptions such as rape, incest, damage to mother's health, or the fetus has a sever genetic illness.

Abortions are provided for free in all those cases.

It's on demand and quite common in Arioslavia. However, aborting a healthy foetus is rare, unless it's an effect of a rape (unwanted pregnancy is also uncommon, due to wide and easy access to contraceptives). However, there's no mandatory abortion, except the cases when the mother's life is in danger.

Legal and entirely unrestricted. Want to abort even though your partner's against it? Sure. Extremely late term abortion? Go right ahead. If it's in your womb, you can do with it whatever you want; current legislation classifies fetuses as organs, which you are permitted to do with whatever you want.

Why does this seem to be such an issue in our societies? It's puzzling.

Abortion, and the related 'paper abortion', are perfectly legitimate and obviously legal medical/juristic procedures. It's covered by standard healthcare and welfare insurance(s). Current attitudes favour a pro-woman stance, i.e. abortion is basically entirely the decision of the woman. Some exception may include the woman being in circumstances or under conditions that impair judgement (mental/medical issues/diseases, being under extreme stress/duress, being misinformed, etc), in which case her relatives and/or physician may intervene. The only prerequisite for abortion is that it's done entirely voluntarily, that is that no pressure from external parties, coercion, misinformation, or similar are involved. After the voluntary aspect is confirmed there's a short period of counseling, which includes offering alternative options (e.g. carrying to term and offering the child for adoption) and warnings about potential consequences, after which a date for the procedure is decided on. Unless there's a necessity for an earlier procedure, like health issues (i.e. the woman's life/health being endangered), the date is usually set about a week after the counseling, to give everyone involved one last chance to rethink and reconsider, and any potential legal issues to be resolved as well. After that the procedure is performed.

A 'paper abortion' is technically available to any partner, but is usually reserved for men to 'legally' abort a child, but essentially renouncing it. The parent, as mentioned typically the man, waives his or her right to any benefits related to having a child, e.g. tax reduction, lesser chance to be conscripted, public financial aid, preference for employment (given same qualifications a parent has always an advantage over a non-parent), and so forth. Women who use a 'paper abortion' typically carry the child to term and then immediately give it over for adoption, but they receive a one-time financial reimbursement for the pregnancy.

this is where we stand as well. If the mother is unable to care for her child then the state will adopt it

It's legal and unrestricted. Abortion numbers are surprisingly low however, since the government mandates sex education in public schools and provides free contraceptives.

Federal law is generally silent on the abortion issue, seeing it as the realm of the various provincial laws, with one exception: as a last resort option when the mother is in mortal peril.

The various provinces have different laws surrounding abortion, from "legal and unrestricted" in Palawan to "last resort only" in Bohol.

In all cases, even in those provinces with no restrictions there is considerable social stigma attached to abortion on demand, especially if it was at the behest of the would-be father.

We are a debauched sex crazed nation who often engage in public orgies in the middle of the street. As a result of this we have high demand for abortions. Abortions are completely legal. We even have drive in abortion-clinics working round the clock like fast food outlets.

Abortion is legal even after birth. You can abort a child as old 17, if you want.
