Donuts are very popular here, 103% of the population loves donuts.

No, this is because donuts are made out of grown food/ingredients such as wheat. The climate of Valgora isn't able to support farming on a scale that would allow donuts to become a normal part of breakfast. Ponies do tend to eat more donuts than the rest of the population.
