Since they can't get their hands on the real thing they'll created fake historical pieces and try to sell them to you as the real thing. There are con artists that try to sell people "get rich quick" schemes and can take thousands of dollars from their victims. Some scammers try to sell fake jewelry, counterfeit designer clothing and stolen electronics. The police crack down on these activities but unfortunately many tourists fall victim to these kinds of criminals every year.
