tbh a drum is not really a suitable ammo storage method for this weapon mount, you would be better of with a regular box magazine with a belt.

Why wouldn't it work? The belt would still be feeding from the same place into the same place if I changed it to a box

Both of BMPTs guns are dual feed and can be witches between HE and AP by the gunner at will.

The reason BMPT has two guns is rate of fire.

So mine being twin is fine since the guns have really low fire rate?

Are you making a vehicle to fill the same role as BMPT Ford?

Whether or not you can or should have twin guns is a question that can only be decided by you. We can praise or deride your decision afterwards regardless of its rightness or wrongness.

erm, can I phone a friend?

It's just a recon vehicle/IFV without the I

But if the BMPT is meant to handle pretty much any ground target it comes up against, I guess it does fill the same role

which Bofors are you talking about, because in 99.99% of cases the Bofors guns are fed from stripper clips not drums

Didn't think about that. Sheeeit

Would it be possible to not have it feed with belts, and to be spring loaded or electrically driven instead?

Airbornes. Better have mix of modified Humvee and Wiesel, or only one of each? Also, TOW/Milan Vs Spike LR? Gonna be used on every vehicle with ATGM on its upgrade, unless it's already fitted with. And also plan to upgrade the Marder 1A5 with AMAP and turret w Mk44, in months.

adapting an actual literal 40mm bofors gun to belt feed is probably not possible and the Bushmaster IV was never mounted on anything so i have no idea if it was belt fed or used the same sorts of ammo feeds

Well with my suggested electrically driven drum, it wouldn't have belts. It would have a motor things in the centre that spins and unwinds one of those one-way flexing chain tings that pushes the cartridges into the gun. So like the bofors just without the clip or gravity I guess?

you would have to mount the gun on it's side and the drums would have to be moved from their current position downwards, to line up the axis of feed with the gun breech.

I know, but with mine they'd be getting pushed in so no need for gravity. Or at least that's what I figured.

The feed direction is still from the top so the gun will need top be on it's side.

You can't just gas axe a hole in the side of the gun, there is a whole host of important stuff there.

i gathered that, the drums still need to be moved downwards though

as they are currently the axis of feed is too far up
