On that same forum page is a gif of a quarter-circle shaped mechanism that might be possible to expand into a semi-circle.

Some other possibilities are a sort of vertical belt system along the lines of this:

Or if you want to get really weird, a derivative of the old T-64 carousel system that doesn't form a complete circle, sacrificing the ability to select different rounds in favor functioning more like a curved magazine on an assault rifle.
Nevermind that's stupid.

The autoloader would've had all of Buntar's ammunition so a semicircular Molot loader would only give it 16 rounds, and the belt looks like it holds 14 or 16.

16 rounds isn't terrible TBF.

That's about Abrams' ready ammo load before you start needing to disassemble the racks to get the rest of the ready ammunition.

And then there's the semi-ready racks and the hull bin.

Leopard 2 can iirc fire 6 rounds before the loader has to start collapsing racks to fit the next rounds through the blast door

I'm experimenting with putting my Raksha turret on the hull i was working on a while ago. Needs much more work, but atleast it is not so tall now.

Might take a bit of inspiration for the outline you posted by extending the front, and Making the rear hang out a bit.

The use of a muzzle brake is certainly interesting. Any idea why that is?

Given the light weight of the tank and the lack of changes to the turret there probably is not enough room for a sufficiently long recoil travel, it probably has the same recoil stroke as the 120mm gun.

So if I went ahead with my SCh-8 idea proposed earlier, which would probably be around 55 tonnes with a 3-man crew, would a muzzle brake be necessary there as well?

A small aesthetic voice in me wants the answer to be yes but really I don't care

Unless you leave room in the turret to accommodate the longer recoil stroke of the future gun then it would be desirable.

However Object 292 did not need a muzzle brake to mount a 152mm in a T-80 and it seems to have functioned fine. The Russians seem a bit more tolerant of high recoil impulses in their tanks though.

Is it in any way sensible to have an SPG with a 150mm howitzer have pretty thick frontal armour (100mm in this case), but to save weight have armour on the side that only repels small arms? I know the Brummbar's lower side armour was garbage and only meant to protect against small arms, but I'm asking about the entire side armour.
