Psychotic Dictatorship

Postby Marnady » Fri Jan 06, 2017 11:17 pm

This is complicated for us to answer

Is the head of state elected democratically? We have no election.
Does the head of state hold executive authority? We have no head of state, but Yugi Irving, the Evil one, is the owner of the Corporation of Marnady, he own nearly all homes and most business markets as he build the state, he also has a private militia
Is the head of government elected democratically? no election
Is the legislature elected democratically? no election
Is the legislature independent? there is no legislature, private property is absolute, Yugi Irving decide the law and how anyone living on his private property must live, he owns nearly all homes. but there are few back alley who are not controled
Are all hereditary titles abolished? we have no title.
On a scale of 1-5, 1 being confederation of entirely sovereign entities and 5 being unitary state, how centralised is power in your nation? 5
Yugi Rule all, some others homes are owner by other peoples, so these people will set their law instead of Yugi Irving,
Are all non-criminal adult citizens allowed to vote? We have no election
Does your nation have central banking? we have no central bank, Yugi has created many bank who print differents money, usable in stores who accept the money printed.

All the answer belong, only apply in Yugi Irving Property, if you are in someone's else property, the owner set the rules, for exemble Public nudity is Legal in Luke Moonlight's home, but he only own a house north of the Capital city. Differents private property will impose different rules.
Can citizens possess weapons indefinitely? If citizen are seen with gun, they are shot dead without question asked
Can citizens possess and use drugs indefinitely? Drug always lead to death sentance
Is there complete separation of church and state? Non members of the evil religion are shot dead
Can citizens freely associate and do business, and refuse to do so, with whomever they desire? People are free to do with any correct citizen, someone doing business with the opposition or a unproper citizen such a Gunned man, will be shot dead
Are all sexual acts between consenting adults legal? Yugi irving only allow adults to have at night in their home, with contraception or protection. citizen are inspected for sexually transmissible disease and are killed if they have one, citizen who disobey are shot.
Are citizens ensured freedom of speech and complete freedom from censorship? Citizen who criticize the evil religion, capitalism, libertarianism or Yugi irving are shot dead.
Can people enter and leave the nation’s territory indefinitely? Formelly Yes, they can tries, but as the outside is very polluted, leaving the nation is like killing yourselves, but there is always many who tries to leave, and less then 1% pass the polluted border
Do police require a warrant and probable cause? We have no police, but Yugi Irving's militia haven the right to shot anyone for any reason on his private property
Are LGBT+ citizens, immigrants, ethnic minorities, and women ensured the same rights as other citizens? All citizen have the same right to submit themselves to Yugi's Irving Law, or to die, as being homosexual is illegal, they tend to die, but the militia can still shot a citizen without reason
Are all ‘victimless’ crimes completely legal? They are totally legal, You don't need to do a crime to be shot by the militia,
Is private property legal? Yugi Irving own the land, it is his private property.

Is the head of state elected democratically? Yes.
Does the head of state hold executive authority? No.
Is the head of government elected democratically? Yes.
Is the legislature elected democratically? Yes.
Is the legislature independent? Huh? Um, yes?
Are all hereditary titles abolished? Yes.
On a scale of 1-5, 1 being confederation of entirely sovereign entities and 5 being unitary state, how centralised is power in your nation? 3, federation of semi-sovereign states
Are all non-criminal adult citizens allowed to vote? Considering almost everyone has commited a crime no matter how minor.....yes, and yes to criminals too, with the exception of the most heinous and evil people.
Does your nation have central banking? Yes.....we kinda need it.

Can citizens possess weapons indefinitely? You can keep your swords and crossbows and pepper sprays, though we do expect you to have training. You can keep your gun as long as you renew your license every now and then. Please, no bombs.
Can citizens possess and use drugs indefinitely? For medical reasons, yes. For recreational reason....well, we can't really stop you, but you will go to rehab when we say so.
Is there complete separation of church and state? Well, we teach religion in school.....all the major religions in our nation are taught and parents can choose the religion they and their child identifies as and let the schools teach them. Of course, there is an option to op-out for the irreligious and the minority religions and those who just don't want it for some reason. Well, we have the death penalty for killers and torture for offenders of abuse, but that's mostly what we think of 'payback' for all their wrongdoings. Other than that, there is mostly a separation of church/mosaue/temple/shrine and state.
Can citizens freely associate and do business, and refuse to do so, with whomever they desire? Yes.
Are all sexual acts between consenting adults legal? You must be married! If not, don't worry! It's not illegal unless you get caught!
Are citizens ensured freedom of speech and complete freedom from censorship? Censorship from government? Yes. Censorship from other people and themselves? No.
Can people enter and leave the nation’s territory indefinitely? Yes.
Do police require a warrant and probable cause? Yes.
Are LGBT+ citizens, immigrants, ethnic minorities, and women ensured the same rights as other citizens? LGBT is still illegal but slowing gaining approval so it may be legal and the government might try to give equal rights to them. But for now, it's general frowned upon by the somewhat conservative populace.

Considering we're a multicultural society, immigrants and ethic minorities are given equal rights. Of course, immigrants still have to go through all that bureaucracy but still...

Women and men are treated rather fairly. It mostly depends on local culture and religion whether women have less or more or the same freedoms than men, but the government sees little difference between men and women and grants them the same rights.
Are all ‘victimless’ crimes completely legal? Some 'crimes' are but others....no, but most of them are considered fairly minor crimes and a fine or rehabilation or communiy service or whatever depending the type of crime will do. After all, littering is a serious matter!
Is private property legal? Yes.

Do police require a warrant and probable cause? There are no police - but note that some areas have established their own law enforcement much like the councils mentioned above. Some of these organisations have been reported as being heavy handed in their tactics.

Is the head of state elected democratically? Indirectly; the Parliament votes for the President
Does the head of state hold executive authority? Not really, no
Is the head of government elected democratically? Indirectly; the Parliament votes for the Prime Minister
Is the legislature elected democratically? Yes: The Parliament members are voted for in two elections: The first is a vote for the local government, for which the head of each constituency represents their local matters in the parliament, while another vote is for the members of the Parliament that vote for the Prime Minister and they vote depending on the country's overall political climate at large.
Is the legislature independent? Independent in what respect? If from foreign influence, then it's strongly argued that it is so. If from the other branches of the government, then yes: They perform specific tasks that the other branches do not perform and the constitution is explicit about their roles.
Are all hereditary titles abolished? The country, in its official standing, had always been officially seen as a democratic republic. Some measure of hereditary rule has always existed, but the last de facto definitively hereditary ruler passed away about two centuries ago, so by that sense, it has been abolished.
On a scale of 1-5, 1 being confederation of entirely sovereign entities and 5 being unitary state, how centralised is power in your nation? 3: Local governments hold a pretty large role in the context of the overall political landscape, but they do ultimately lean towards the decisions of the central government in many key aspects of Ardrenttide life.
Are all non-criminal adult citizens allowed to vote? Yes; many criminals, mostly those identified as having committed victimless crimes, also get the right to vote as well.
Does your nation have central banking? Yes: It is also officially the only bank that is legally allowed to issue legal tender.

Can citizens possess weapons indefinitely? They cannot; most guns are, in fact, very heavily regulated, as they are perceived as being inherently only capable of killing and little more. (Hasn't stopped a couple of creative individuals from attempting to create something from them outside of claiming self defence, but there's been little impression made by the self-touted "gun arts")
Can citizens possess and use drugs indefinitely? Yes for softer drugs like marijuana, which are listed as on par with caffeine; more moderate drugs (At least classified as such) like nicotine and alcohol are mildly regulated, though they are still readily sold in many nighttime oriented establishments; harder drugs like heroin and cocaine are banned and persons who are caught holding said drugs will find themselves going through rehabilitation in prison, usually for prison terms that last upwards of a decade at most.
Is there complete separation of church and state? Yes and no: The government isn't allowed to infringe into much of the operations of a religious organisation, which can include the ways in which said church collects and spends their money, but there also is a far stricter framework towards how one becomes a religion and that relies heavily on whether it follows an already existing religious script or text, what the history of the organisation has been, whether it bodes well to the well being of its followers as a whole, etc. (Many religions, on that note, that have not been well known for their treatment of LGBTs or minorities in general have been registered officially as religions for this reason, as there is a desire to retain many of the better aspects of those religions that those like, say, Scientology may lack that couldn't already be achieved by therapy)
Can citizens freely associate and do business, and refuse to do so, with whomever they desire? No; there are several laws on the books expressly regulating how some aspects of public life should be carried out, most to do with what the state deems are more marginalised individuals within the society (LGBT individuals, recent immigrants/refugees from the Middle East, etc.); they have not often been enforced as most of the disputes regarding these matters tend to be resolved fairly quickly, but it exists as a failsafe.
Are all sexual acts between consenting adults legal? Yes
Are citizens ensured freedom of speech and complete freedom from censorship? Generally, though many outside observers might feel that the way that Ardrenttides engage feels maybe slightly restrained, notably on the Internet, and this is arrived from more of the culture of the nation, which is undeniably shaped by the government's policies in some manner or another along with a general cultural propensity for introspection and empathetic tendencies.
Can people enter and leave the nation’s territory indefinitely? Yes.
Do police require a warrant and probable cause? They do for all instances, yes.
Are LGBT+ citizens, immigrants, ethnic minorities, and women ensured the same rights as other citizens? It is a mentality that permeates within the culture already, but in a legal capacity, yes.
Are all ‘victimless’ crimes completely legal? Many victimless crimes that are illegal, like the possession of hard drugs such as heroin, are treated more to be liable to serve rehabilitation sentences than they are to serve in any official jail capacity, though it's generally perceived as more of a quasi-prison for instances where the individual in question is shown requiring those restraints.
Is private property legal? Yes... in a manner of speaking: Most land is considered to be free to walk through and the only real requirement from most people travelling through those lands is that they leave the land as it is, though there are obviously massive holes in the enforcement of such a law and most of that is left up to the land owners: Ardrenttides generally aren't famous for being notorious litterers, so much as they're known for some measure of a lack of care: They'll take care to not throw something onto the ground, but if it touches it, then their most common response is a shrug as long as no one is present.

Is the head of state elected democratically? No.
Does the head of state hold executive authority? Yes.
Is the head of government elected democratically? No, and the head of state is also the head of government.
Is the legislature elected democratically? No.
Is the legislature independent? No.
Are all hereditary titles abolished? No.
On a scale of 1-5, 1 being confederation of entirely sovereign entities and 5 being unitary state, how centralised is power in your nation? 3.5 or 4 maybe? - The king has the last say in big matters (laws, big crimes, general school system) but small matters (buildings, small crimes) are mostly organized by each city seperately.
Are all non-criminal adult citizens allowed to vote? No. (There is no voting to begin with.)
Does your nation have central banking? No.

Can citizens possess weapons indefinitely? Police can. Ordinary citizens can too, though if they have a very large amount of weapons, this will be seen as suspicious. Women, slaves, children under the age of 8, and anyone with a criminal record cannot possess weapons (though this does not include kitchen tools, working tools, sticks, etc.). Certain weapons (including guns, explosives, narcotics and electrical weapons) are illegal for anyone to use.
Can citizens possess and use drugs indefinitely? Drug use and possession are not officially illegal, but it is illegal to behave as if you're under influence of drugs (whether or not this is the case doesn't matter). Starting a fire with a reason other than to cook or keep warm is also illegal, which includes any sort of smoking.
Is there complete separation of church and state? Not exactly, but religion is not seen as an important matter. The churches are monitored by the government, not vice versa.
Can citizens freely associate and do business, and refuse to do so, with whomever they desire?
Are all sexual acts between consenting adults legal? No. Sex with anyone other than your wedded partner is illegal, as well as sex in the presence of other people.
Are citizens ensured freedom of speech and complete freedom from censorship? Definitely not. Censorship is everywhere: what can be said, what can be read, what can be seen, what people can look like and dress like...
Can people enter and leave the nation’s territory indefinitely? Anyone can enter Wiewawoe, but if they don't conform to Wiewawoeian law and culture or claim to be from any country other than Wiewawoe or its neighbor Tannix, they will be arrested. People are not allowed to leave Wiewawoe (except for things like trade, fishing, etc.), but there isn't much border patrol, so once you get past the wilderness to the border, it's pretty easy to leave. You will be seen as a traitor if you do this.
Do police require a warrant and probable cause? No. For searching a house or random registered citizens on the streets, they do need to have some sort of suspicion, but this can be a small thing such as a rumor or the person's appearance.
Are LGBT+ citizens, immigrants, ethnic minorities, and women ensured the same rights as other citizens? Definitely not.
Are all ‘victimless’ crimes completely legal? No.
Is private property legal? Yes.

Is the head of state elected democratically? Sort of. The Head of State is the Emperor, and the title is ereditary, but there is the rule that, after two years of rule, there has to be a referendum over the Emeperor, where the people can decide whether they want that Emperor to continue be in place or not. In case the people wants that Emperor to step off the throne, he is substituted by the oldest brother or sister, who has to undergo the same thing. In case a certain person becomes Emperor/Empress, and that person is last in the line of succession among the children of the previous "referendum-surviving" Emperor, then that person cannot undergo the referendum, until one of his/her brothers and sisters has children with 16 years or more.
Does the head of state hold executive authority? Yes. The Emperor has the possibility to come up with up to ten "Imperial Decrees", that require no vote from the Parliament, but can be removed by the parliament, if a jury asks the parliament to vote on them.
Is the head of government elected democratically? Yes.
Is the legislature elected democratically? Yes.
Is the legislature independent? Yes.
Are all hereditary titles abolished? No.
On a scale of 1-5, 1 being confederation of entirely sovereign entities and 5 being unitary state, how centralised is power in your nation? 3: A Unitary and Centralised State, but with huge autonomy to the various parts, like Jugoslavija.
Are all non-criminal adult citizens allowed to vote? Yes.
Does your nation have central banking? Yes.

Can citizens possess weapons indefinitely? Depends. People have to undergo very detailed scrutinee before having access to PERSONAL weapons. However, as ALL the people are part of the Armia Krajova (like a national militia ready in case of invasion), they have their weapons from the AK.
Can citizens possess and use drugs indefinitely? No. Drugs are illegal.
Is there complete separation of church and state? Yes.
Can citizens freely associate and do business, and refuse to do so, with whomever they desire? Yes.
Are all sexual acts between consenting adults legal? Yes. But in certain cases, when there is a substantial age difference (ten years or more), the two or more people should all write a "Consent Document", stating that they are consenting; this is to avoid fake accuses of rape, as well as to avoid rapists from being treated lightly and not be punished.
Are citizens ensured freedom of speech and complete freedom from censorship? Yes, as far as the public is concerned. However, individuals are free to censor information. For example, the owner of a private newspaper is free to censor the info he/she wants to.
Can people enter and leave the nation’s territory indefinitely? Yes.
Do police require a warrant and probable cause? Yes.
Are LGBT+ citizens, immigrants, ethnic minorities, and women ensured the same rights as other citizens? Yes, but there is a bias in favour of Slavs, with "Purely Slav" families, marriages and so on being promoted. This is because that is a law from the 19th century which has never been removed because of lack of will. Like the UK's law saying that "It is legal to kill a scotman carrying a bow in York".
Are all ‘victimless’ crimes completely legal? No: the notion of "victimless crime" is not considered a thing here, as the people who commit the crime themselves are victims of their own actions (for example with an overdose: the one who abused of drugs is the victim).
Is private property legal? Yes.

Is the head of state elected democratically? Yes
Does the head of state hold executive authority? No
Is the head of government elected democratically? Yes
Is the legislature elected democratically? Yes
Is the legislature independent? Yes
Are all hereditary titles abolished? Yes
On a scale of 1-5, 1 being confederation of entirely sovereign entities and 5 being unitary state, how centralised is power in your nation? 1,5-2
Are all non-criminal adult citizens allowed to vote? Criminals are also allowed to vote, only foreigners who aren't citizens are barred from voting.
Does your nation have central banking? Not really.

Can citizens possess weapons indefinitely? Yes, but not all kinds of weapons. Automatical and military-grade weapons, grenades etc. are not allowed under any circumstances for civilian use. Background checks and a licence proving shooting skills are also mandatory.
Can citizens possess and use drugs indefinitely? Only marijuana, alcohol and tobacco. (And medical drugs, some only with prescription)
Is there complete separation of church and state? The institutions are separate, but churches have cultural power which can indirectly influence politics.
Can citizens freely associate and do business, and refuse to do so, with whomever they desire? Yes, but all agreements have to be on equal terms, i.e. only co-operating with, not employing of people is allowed. Discrimination against people based exclusively on origin, views (as long as they aren't inciting violence against a particular person, multiple persons or one or multiple groups of people) or sex, gender or sexual orientation is also banned. Healthcare is not seen as a business, but an obligation, and so is education, as well as what are generally seen as utilities. Therefore they do not fall under this.
Are all sexual acts between consenting adults legal? Usually (assuming "adults" refers to anyone older than 18), but in some cases they might be found to violate laws. I.e. "consensual" assault that would lead to, or has lead to significant injuries could be ruled to be regular assault. Many are also socially frowned upon and publicly and culturally heavily discouraged (this does not include monogamous same-sex relationships, though)
Are citizens ensured freedom of speech and complete freedom from censorship? The only two limits to freedom of expression are, the ban on public calls, as mentioned above, for "violence against a particular person, multiple persons or one or multiple groups of people", and of course libellous or slandering statements aren't also grounds for prosecuting.
Can people enter and leave the nation’s territory indefinitely? Yes
Do police require a warrant and probable cause? Yes
Are LGBT+ citizens, immigrants, ethnic minorities, and women ensured the same rights as other citizens? Yes
Are all ‘victimless’ crimes completely legal? Some, but not all (Hard drugs remain illegal, though you will not go to jail for using them. What constitutes a "victimless" crime here is also not clear)
Is private property legal? Property is yours as long as you actually use it. Including for example, but not limited to having a house you, friends or family lives in for free on it, having another building, such as a manufacture on it that isn't currently standing empty on it, cultivating the land for food or other legitimate purposes, using it as a ranch, land for your animals, a wildlife refuge or similar. Using it as a "investment", for speculation purposes or simply to block other people from using or wandering across it is not allowed. Renting unused land does constitute "using" it either.
