Op-Ed: Legend of Korra is a Capitalist Show

While I was in sitting during the quarantine, I used to watch tv cartoon shows I'm fond of watching. Legend of Korra is one of them. But upon re watching it, I learned that it was arguing with a debate between communism and capitalism. The Equalists were the communists wanting everything equal. While the benders wanted capitalism. It sounds very appealing that equality was something everyone to look forward to but is it truly good for society? It lowers happiness of benders just as how higher taxes end up leaving the ones who earned their income worse off. The proletariat remarks, "The rich are oppressing us! We must make everyone equal in income!" But what he fails to understand is that the rich have earned their income. They built the businesses. They are the doctors whose work saves lives. They are the administrators and chief financial officers whose work is truly appreciated. The bankers who keep the engine oiled. Just as benders are the ones who keep functioning society. In effect, the logic preceding, the proletariat is flawed. However that's not to say capitalism should run uncheck. There are balances to be made by social programs to support the poor and working class but any idea to support mass scale of redistribution so that the everyone make the same wage is fruitless.

DoubleThink has Taken Borovan

DoubleThink has imposed a new order in Borovan. One that seeks to rather already has upends order and fabric of society. Borovan has remained free as a democratic society but it was always the hidden framework that was changing attitudes that's more potent than any ideology. It is our society and culture that's at fault. And it's revelation will be scathing.

Mankind has always been forced between good and bad. Human nature, rugged as it is has a tendency to act towards its desires and chaotic side but it's superego, imposed on us as a child by discipline and deterrence by our parents brings a balance of sense of right and wrong. However it's always at work. People try to do what's right but desires conflict.

In society and culture, it is problematic that we have pressures that work against us nature. Doublethink is at work. It is told that we don't need a attractive female to be happy in life. The man, being wired to nature seeks attractive female as part of its aim is to get married and have children. But this idea conflicts sharply with the other. At its most dangerous, the man can shut down its desires and impulses. It is the same thinking in different ways. Society taught us about how not everyone is privileged and that we are always worried about the worse off. I remember an attractive girl I liked and this thinking came up. I was worried about how the more ugly girls would feel. It would seem so selfish or even downright uptight to even be with a attractive girl, when someone else has not the same fortunate event as you. The consequences following this can be fatal, best avoided and this idea to the more unfortunate is debunked as God gave us gifts and we should enjoy them.

Suppression is a hard thing to handle. We wonder what if it's worth to pursue when we are told that aims are about doing good, friends and have a career or even be open about your character. But the issue of suppression and nature is there. In autism, I studied the effects of the boy who was behaving erratically against society, only to be disciplined which made him cry and became brought him to social isolation. The isolation made him appreciative of low points but the sadness was there. Later on, he developed and was autistic, aware of the sins he committed and the two conflicts of Desire and Superego was there. Society tells us that the goal in life is to have friends, support our family, and find career you love but it tells us also that we should not let finding a woman be the sole coming or even that attractiveness does not matter. To this effect, the boy suppresses his feelings against his innate desires and if worse, strictly holds still to that premise.

This museum, striving to educate the public on mental processes and human behaviour, has been long-awaited by the psychology community. Spokespeople from the Mental Health Association, the Department of Psychiatry at Prollac University, and the Chandra Trellis Center for Psychological Care were at the opening. The museum will introduce the history of the fields of psychology and psychiatry, with documents on old theories on psychology, films of old interviews, historical devices for mental health treatment, information about common psychological quirks, and hands-on activities for all ages.
