Overseer Bradberry puts fourth stricter regulations on wasteland merchants

Following suit with his campaign promise, the Overseer has put a heavy tax on any merchant seeking entry into the Vault. If passed, the bill will require any merchant to purchase a Commercial License in order to do business in the Vault. Additionally, the bill also requires that merchants sanitize themselves, put on a Vault 93 jumpsuit, and bars any animals, including dogs and pack brahmin, from entering the Vault without approval from security. According to the Overseer, these provisions will "prevent the spread of disease, drugs, and other nasty stuff from above ground from seeping into the Vault" he has said in an interview with Vault Times reporter Julia Martin. The Council will vote on the bill on Monday.

Monday polls suggest tight race between Castelo and Meyer in UKP Primaries

Polls released yesterday by K-Net, Kennlind Today and Rapid TV all suggest a close 2nd round primary between frontrunner Felipe Castelo, and incumbent president Landon Meyer. Avery dropped in the polls significantly since announcing his campaign. Rapid TV's poll suggest Castelo will win with 39% of the vote, with Meyer sitting just one point behind at 38%, and then Avery at 23%. Turnout is expected to be around 0.2% lower, at just under 990,000 votes. Polls suggest Castelo will not be able to carry another 11% of the vote, and will lose narrowly to Meyer in the second round. Meyer's approval rating has recovered slightly, going up for the first time in three months, albeit by just 1%

Kennlind Provincial XI Cup - Amsenwold beat North Victoria 3-1 in Quarter Final

The hero of the day, Tom Jansik, put two goals through in the last ten minutes, as Amsenwold completed a second half comeback. Three goals in the last half hour of play, Amsenwold defeated North Victoria, the first time North Victoria are missing the semi-finals since 2004. With key striker Robbie Grier out, Gavin McLean was left alone up front. McLean gave hope to North Victoria however, scoring just before the half hour mark, a cross from Jamie Reid into the box was met by Mies van Gender, who's header sent it straight to the feet of McLean. With no goals coming for another half an hour, a substitution was made, and 18 year old Amsenwold Athletic midfielder Guus Alphen was brought on. Minutes later, Alphen sent the ball through to captain Maarten van Joor, who curled it around the keeper and into the net. In the 83rd minute, a free kick was awarded, and striker Jansik took it with ease, sending it straight into the top corner. 9 minutes later in extra time, Jansik leathered it into the top corner from outside the box, ending all hope for North Victoria.

Kennlind Championship Transfer News

Reigning champions Amsenwold Athletic have signed winger Marcos Ruy Vargas from Santo Antonio side Costa Norte. Vargas scored 11 times in 24 games last season for Costa Norte, including a hat-trick against rivals Atletico Barboya. At the age of 19, Vargas already has two Santo Antonio Cups and a Kennlind First Division title under his belt, he's expected to grow into a major player in Kennlindian football. The transfer which cost just under K$15 Million is only the second made by Amsenwold Athletic this season, the first being the K$22 million acquisition of Drikberg defender Martin Shell.

Primeirona 2012 - Atlético Nacional prepares to face Clube Paulista at home - If the visitors win, defending champion Vinte de Setembro could lose the championship lead. It is going to be a difficult confrontation and the Paulistas will have to bet on their counter attacks and police protection to avoid brutality by Uruguayan fans.

The manhunt for Miguel Souza continues... - The most wanted multi-task criminal in the world was seen entering a commercial building in Recife, however, there is no trace of his presence. Given that nothing was stolen, nobody was killed, and the videotape witnessing his moves is proven to be real, perhaps he just vanished into thin air...

American Cup 2012 Round of 16 first leg: Club Maya (Mexico) 2–2 União do Iguaçu - The club from Rio de Janeiro managed to draw at Estadio Maya in a match ridden by foul play and fights between the fans and the referee. Supreme Court agrees to hear a case from the Youth Liberation League (YLL)

The 5-member Supreme Court, in response to yesterday's announcement from the YLL accepting responsibility for vandalizing People's Party headquarters, decides to hear a case being pushed by a group of youth (a growing mostly online movement made up of teenagers), on the constitutionality of Age of Consent laws. The YLL has been decrying such laws unconstitutional after one of their influential leaders, 14-year-old Brody Hurley, was arrested on statutory rape charges back in May. The case will be heard sometime in August, with the verdict to be revealed on the final day of the court's term; September 8.

Parliament almost unanimously passes sanctions on Russia

Parliament passed, with a vote of 287-8, to freeze the assets of Russian citizens in the Serene Republic in response to increasing hostility from Russia. Five members, all from the extreme right, boycotted the vote. The bill is due to be sighed by President Bell on Monday. "We want to send a clear message to Putin that we will not be bullied" said MP Abigail Zadeh, primary sponsor of the bill. "And that we'll stand with any country who live with the specter of a potential Russian invasion into their homes.". Members of the Alternative Right and National Socialists, who boycotted the vote, refused to be interviewed by us.

[Ihu System] Feud over design layout of HC Galliant injures multiple

At around 1724 AP yesterday a dispute in the lobby of HC Flura erupted in chaos. 20 were left with slight to slightly moderate wounds, all of which are expected to recover OK. The incident is reported to have started with an argument between Lead Interior Designer Erai Gev and Lead Coordinator Uva Apon. Both were placed in charge of overseeing the layout of the new Hub Center in District 40 Zone 93, Planet Tallis [Ihu System] named "Galliant." Erai Gev and Uva Apon are said to have gathered near the food court of the Flura lobby to collaborate on its design, where Erai Gev displayed his plans. Uva Apon apparently became so enraged upon seeing the design that she berated him yelling "Only the very horrid mind of the Force of Abomination could ever think to conceive of such an atrociously hideous awful Grace-forsaken thing." Tensions escalated at which point the Flura's Guards became involved. Evidently a portion of the guards took the side of Uva Apon agreeing that the designs were so unsightly that it was a "Unspeakable dreadful insidious plot by the Force of Abomination to deride the honor the heart and the very fabric of the foundation of the Empire, Eugen, and Grace." Another portion are said to have felt that the safety of Erai Gev was in so much jeopardy that they acted to defend him resulting in a shootout. The Tallis Planetary Department of Oversight Director referred to the incident as "An Overreaction"

President Delgado meets with U.S. President Donald Trump
President Juan Aníbal Delgado met with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington, D.C. on July 28. This is the first time President Delgado has met a U.S. President since his meeting with former President Barack Obama in 2012. The two leaders spent a large amount of their discussion talking about Cuba, with Delgado urging Trump not to reinstate the embargo and to further improve relations with Cuba. They also talked about security concerns in Central and South America. Relations between the United States and Socialista Libertario were low for a number of years, until they improved dramatically in the 1990s after the end of the Cold War and the dominance of the Partido de la Revolución, before declining after the election of Trump.

Referendum on withdrawal from United Nations fails
A national referendum on withdrawal from the United Nations was announced last September. The proposal had the support of Prime Minister Alvarado but not President Delgado. The referendum narrowly failed, 51.2% to 48.8%, with a 93% turnout. Despite its failure, Alvarado pledged not to resign.

Felipe Castelo expected to win outright majority in Presidential Election 1st Round

Conservatarian Felipe Castelo, who defeated incumbent Landon Meyer, is expected to win a majority in the first of the presidential elections. Polling as high as 54%, the Progressive Union and People's Party candidates have collapsed behind him. Assuming he fails to gain a majority, it's expected he'll win as high as 72% of the second round. His Pro-Gun, Anti-Abortion and Pro-Business stances have gained him a lot of support from all kinds of groups - farmers, businessmen and urban conservatives. This was the first time an incumbent president has ever lost in the party primaries. The 53-47% primary was a shock across the nation, Meyer conceding less than an hour after exit polls suggested Castelo would win with around 54% of the vote. Current polls are looking like this.

Felipe Castelo (UKP/DDP) - 52%
James R. Smith (People's Party) - 15%
Mattheus Dreesen (Socialist Movement - Endorsed by AAP) - 14%
Josh Wicker (Progressive Union) - 10%
Maria Paszekis (Republican Initiative) - 9%

Kennlindian Provincial XI Cup SEMI FINALS

It's Stanhope and Amsemwold moving through to the final. Raikesbury and Capital crashing out, the former losing 4-1 to Amsenwold, and the latter losing 4-2 on penalties to Stanhope after a 2-2 draw. Amsenwold captain Marten van Joor scored an early free kick, before striker Tom Jansik hit home a hat-trick, starting with a penalty just before half time, a header from a corner, and a stunning shot from outside the box. Raikesbury grabbed a consolation goal, Adam Sands banging home a through ball from Steve McLerty. Stanhope and Capital Bay played a stunning match, defender Alfie Cox scoring twice for capital bay in the first 20 minutes from two corners, his efforts were in vain, as James Mackevin pulled one back from a cross by Hayden Watermin's cross, before Watermin himself bagged a goal, a curled shot from the outside of the box hitting the post and going in. The final will be held on the 7th of August

ooc post: I have plans for multi political party municipal, provincial and national elections, and a new constitution.

José Díaz-Balart reporting for Miami TV News and
La Habana Cuba TV News, Live from La Habana:
Image

Image:
Short Interview of the President of the Democratic Republic of La Habana Cuba, President Elián González.

José Díaz-Balart: Mr President, does the democratic republic of La Habana Cuba have a constitution?

President Elián González: After the economic sanctions, secret help and encouragement by the President of the USA of America, Donald J Trump, and my successful military coup d'état, with which none of this could have been possible, without the help and support of President Trump, certain parts of the democratic 1940 Cuban constitution are being respected by my democratic government, until a new constitution is created.

José Díaz-Balart: Who is going to create this new constitution?

President Elián González: After the national multi political party elections to be held, the Parliament members will propose, debate and discuss the constitutional laws to be passed by them, approved and signed into law by me.

My administration will propose the democratic 1940 Cuban constitution to parliament for its consideration, certain parts or all parts of the 1940 democratic constitution might be approved.

José Díaz-Balart: How democratic is the 1940 Cuban constitution?

President Elián González: Very democratic, it was created by a constitutional assembly with 9 different political parties participating, from the right, left and center, including the communist party of the time.

José Díaz-Balart: Under what government was this democratic 1940 constitution constituted?

President Elián González:The constitutional convention was presided by Carlos Márquez Sterling, during President Federico Laredo Brú s' administration. The constitution was approved and constituted during the then democratically elected President Fulgencio Batista from oct 10 1940 to 0ct 10 1944.

and from oct 10 1944 to oct 10 1948 under President Ramón Grau San Martín. (whose family's descendants the o.p once personally met in Miami, it was a great personal honour).

and from oct 10 1948 to march 10 1952 under President Carlos Prío Socarrás, both of whom signed the 1940 constitution.

José Díaz-Balart: What happened to the democratic 1940 Cuban constitution?

In 1952 former President Fulgencio Batista overthrew the Government of President Carlos Prío Socarrás, and suspended certain parts of the 1940 Cuban constitution, via a constitutional act, but kept multi political party elections to the house of representatives and the senate, along with free enterprise,
freedoms of the press and religions.

During the government of President Fulgencio Batista, two 2 communists leaders served as Ministers in the government of Batista, Carlos Rafael Rodríguez and Juan Marinello, who later served Fidel.

The leader of the Cuban communist party of the time, Blas Roca signed the 1940 Cuban constitution, and once supported Batista and served as Fidel's President of the Cuban National Assembly CNAP.

Then Fidel and the revoltution for life, suspended all parts of the democratic 1940 Cuban constitution, after promising to restore the democrtatic 1940 Cuban constitution if he came to power.

José Díaz-Balart: Where did you learn all this history?

President Elián González: It wasn't easy.

José Díaz-Balart: I see, very interesting, Any last words or comments to our viewers?

I am promoting this interview all over all the world in as many news media as possible.

President Elián González: I have invited President Donald J Trump and Vice President Mike Pence of THe USA of America, to La Habana Cuba City Province for a Victory Celebration. We welcome President Donald J Trump to La Habana Cuba, which without the economic sanctions, secret help, support and encouragement my successful military coup d etat would not have been possible. His Vice President Mike Pence, President Lincoln Diaz-Balart and Vice President Ileana Ros-Lehtinen of Miami Shores, who also secretly helped me and supported me.

We have a lot of work to do to Make and Keep Cuba Great Again.

I promise the Cuban people and the NS world of democratic multi political party nations, real democratic changes you can believe in, real freedoms of the press, religion, personal and political expressions, with real economic freedoms and prosperity for all, not just for the privileged governing elite as in the recent past.

Municipal, Provincial and National multi political party elections, with a new and democratic constitution within a year.
