Date: February 28th

As the year comes to a close, Jacrainese are optimistic about the new upcoming year this New Year's Eve. The government has successfully managed to contain COVID-19, with a strict curfew, testing, and vaccinations, as well as people caring about those, especially at risk. Now, after nearly two difficult years, COVID is declining and mandates are easing down. People are optimistic that it will no longer be an issue this upcoming year. Festivals will have fewer restrictions, and supermarkets may remove mask mandates. Jacrain may come back to be as lively as it was before 2020. In addition, economists are saying that this will improve the Jacrainese economy and bring back businesses that failed due to COVID. Some predict that post-COVID will be better than pre-COVID, as now, there are new innovations around the world that came as a result of the pandemic, that has reached Jacrain.

INFLATION BACK ON NORMAL RATES

The inflation seems to be stable again with the current rate falling to only 2.7%, much less than the numbers from the recent years with all the crises in sequence due to sanitary and consequent economic ones which ranged from 5% to even 8%. This shows a successfull, or at least partially successfull, program of economic recuperation and restabilization. However, unemployment is falling in a much more slow way than what the government probably wanted, and with unemployment insurances still accounting for much of government welfare spending, consuming precious resources that should be going to other essential areas ... With all this, the economy seems to only partially favor the National Liberal Party government.
