However, at the start of this afternoon, the area was unexpectedly closed down by the ZPA as armored vehicles have occupied the sand dunes for driver training. Around nine Type 07 5th gen. main battle tanks and five Type 99-200 fire support vehicles from the 12th Guards Armored Storm Brigade of the 1st Guards Army, ZPA Ground Force arrived at the sand dunes at around half-past-three this afternoon where drivers will undergo off-road rough-terrain driving training. Many locals voice concern about the armored vehicles ruining the sand dunes, however a spokesperson for the 12th Guards Armored Storm Brigade stated that the driving training "will not damage the sand dunes" and that the armored vehicles "will leave and return back to base before midnight". Regardless, locals are annoyed that the training is being done in a popular public spot rather than at a driving range inside the several thousand military installations all across Mainland Zhouran and Overseas Zhouran. Although, the spokesperson argued that the training was done in public in order to give the new armored-vehicle drivers confidence in driving armored vehicles in public areas. Fan Wylgen stays PM after agreement reached

DE HAVEN — Prime Minister Jytte fan Wylgen will continue in office after her centre-right Liberal Party reached a coalition agreement with the right-wing People's Party on Sunday; exactly 4 years to the day since she was first appointed. Free of the constraints of previous coalition partners, the Christian democratic Conservative Party, the coalition looks set to become Wetterland's most right-wing government for three decades.

The agreement, which is titled Beter Bouen (Building Better), sets out the government's policies in the aftermath of the COVID–19 pandemic and record borrowing and spending by government. It will see People's Party leader Andy Leif remain as deputy prime minister and foreign affairs minister. The internal affairs portfolio, which handles immigration policy and policing among others, will also go to the People's Party while the key government departments of finance and health will remain with the Liberal Party.

Economic recovery and "restoration of the public finances" are the key tenants of the agreement, with a mix of budget cuts and tax increases expected. It's a surprise turn around for fan Wylgen who stated there would be no tax increases in any government she led. The People's Party, who began their rise to prominence in the midst of the European financial crisis a decade ago, were understood to have pushed hard against spending cuts alone to reduce public debt which has just ticked over the €50 billion mark.

However, it has not been all win for Leif's People's Party: there will be no UK-style referendum on European Union membership and immigration laws will remain largely unchanged. Conceding a central plank of its platform, the People's Party instead agreed that any "future transfer of sovereignty" to the EU will be put to a public vote. The People's Party was scathing of the EU's approach to the vaccine rollout and has long advocated leaving the bloc.

In what appears to have been a resounding endorsement of the fan Wylgen government's handling of the pandemic, the two parties between them won 65 of the 124 seats in the Rieksdag at the general election on 15 May. The Conservative Party, which was critical of "endless" national lockdowns, chose to enter opposition rather than continue on in government. The Liberal Party–People's Party coalition will be the first two-party coalition in more than a decade, with many pondering if it marks a return to the standard left–right blocs that were characteristic of pre-financial crash Wettish politics.

A spokesperson for Prime Minister fan Wylgen said that Cabinet make-up details were still being finalised but that they would be complete by early next week when Queen Katharine will appoint the new Cabinet, the country's 50th.

ANRO wins general election in expected landslide

VICTORIQUE - The Angelan Nationalist Revolutionary Organization won its 50th consecutive electoral victory in the annual general election held on Saturday.

The ANRO won 60 out of 65 seats in the People's Council, an addition of one seat to its existing supermajority. The Communist Party won 2 seats, with an upset loss to an independent in South Victorique.

As per the usual process, the month between the first meeting of the new legislative session on July 12, where the People's Council will elect the President of the Republic, the ANRO is expected to hold its annual Congress to determine the party Chair and the composition of the Central Committee. No major changes are expected, with incumbent Chair Ami Delmaré still in firm control of her party. She is also expected to win her 8th consecutive re-election to the presidency.

Across the country in local races, the ANRO once again swept up local councils, though the share of votes for independents was noted to have increased slightly. The Victorique Metropolitan Council saw the inclusion of two more independent candidates at the expense of 1 ANRO and 1 CPGA councilor.

ANRO irredentist faction overtakes reformists as second-largest party group

VICTORIQUE - The conclusion of the 2021 general election saw the Catrionan Advancement Conference party faction overtake the Reform Bloc in legislative representation, all but ensuring minimal opposition for incumbent President and party chair Ami Delmaré.

Since 2014, the Delmaré's National Concord faction, currently still the largest group by far, have been in a controversial de facto coalition with the Conference, which is considered by many to be ethno-nationalist and militaristic. Until this year, the Reform Bloc, led by former president Adrianne Raimilia, had maintained their status as the second-largest faction in the People's Council, finding themselves able to on rare occasions force concessions on the part of the government.

However, with tensions seemingly rising in Aichelle and a renewed sense of nationalism sweeping much of the country, the Conference managed to elect more than twice its number of councilors since the 2020 election, relegating reformists to a distant third place and ensuring that opposition to Delmaré's agenda, including major increases to the defense and security budgets and sweeping re-nationalization efforts, will encounter minimal resistance.

The Conference's de facto leader, Calo Lyvienne, celebrated the faction's victory in a public address to its membership, a speech which still drew criticism despite its much more cautious tone with regards to her usual nationalistic statements.

"We have a chance to resolve the Aichelle conflict within this administration's term. At a time of deep uncertainty and tension on our borders, we must take bold measures to end the unsustainable status quo once and for all."

Some observers see internal party dynamics, especially those about to play out at the ANRO's upcoming congress, as indicative of a further shift away from the liberalization that ended in 2014 with the ousting of the Reform Bloc, as well as a further cementing of Delmaré's control over her party and the country.

According to the MoD, the aerial battle actually happened earlier this year on the early morning of April 18, when five F-15EX fighter jets from the Royal Zollerhollorn Air Force entered Tshekovia and disregarded warning from the Tshekovian Air Force. With its small combat fleet made up only of 36 Yak-130 LIFTs and 24 F-7G fighter jets, Tshekovian air-defense forwarded radar data of the Zollerhollorn fighter jets to Zhouranese forces stationed in Tshekovia. At the Zhouranese overseas installation Air Base Zukronxaya, two ZPAAF Jian-19-3-3 gen. 4++ fighter jets were quickly scrambled under the callsigns Steel Hawk 6 & 8, each fully-armed with four off-boresight capable within-visual-range air-to-air missiles (WVRAAMs) and eight highly-sophisticated AESA radar equipped beyond-visual-range air-to-air missiles (BVRAAM). Under a quickly-planned operation, the two Zhouranese fighters had one simple task: Shoot down the Zollerhollorn fighter jets in order to send a message that Zhouran would no longer tolerate Zollerhollornland's complete disregard for Tshekovian sovereignty and total support for Tshekovian NGO-paid color-revolution reactionaries. Amidst the moonlight in the still-dark early morning, the two Zhouranese fighters took off from Air Base Zukronxaya, and in full afterburners, quickly head their way towards the Zollerhollorn squadron while a ZPAAF AWACS provided constant network datalinking and real-time observation & tactical support. By the time the pair were only a few hundred kilometers away from the Zollerhollorn squadron, onboard footage from helmet cameras showed Steel Hawk 6 & 8 warning the Zollerhollorn planes they were in Tshekovian airspace and that they should leave immediately. The Zollerhollorn aircraft did not respond. By the time they were 108 km away from the Zollerhollorn aircraft, the pilots gave another warning, however this time the two Zhouranese aircraft quickly took evasive maneuvers as they successfully dodge three AMRAAM missiles fired from the Zollerhollorn aircraft, their highly-sophisticated Type 03 Airborne Self-Defense Alert System allowing each of the Zhouranese fighters to automatically deploy flares rapidly at the right moment. Steel Hawk 6 takes the first kill as he shoots down one of the F-15EX fighter jets that was tailing Steel Hawk 8 with a WVRAAM while Steel Hawk 8 kills the second enemy by going head-on towards it before firing a BVRAAM and executing a tight turn while the second enemy tried evading the highly-maneouvrable BVRAAM before getting shot down. With three enemies remaining, Steel Hawk 8 chases one while Steel Hawk 6 has an F-15EX on his tail. While the enemy fires his cannon, Steel Hawk 6 managed to evade cannon-fire before meticulously performing a J-turn maneuver and witnessing the pursuing aircraft fly past him. With the enemy now on his sight, Steel Hawk 6 chases the target at high speed, and as the F-15EX pulled a hard evasive turn at high g-force (much to the detriment of its non-supermaneuverable airframe), Steel Hawk 6 fired a short burst of cannon-fire before disengaging to regain consciousness. Steel Hawk 6's helmet-cam shows a deadly hailstorm of armor-piercing high-explosive shells hitting the target aircraft’s rear engines, causing it to violently explode and rip apart while the mutilated bodies of the F-15EX's two crewmembers were violently flung out of the cockpit. With one of the remaining F-15EX fighter jets chasing Steel Hawk 8, Steel Hawk 6 quickly head towards it and saves his wingman by shooting down the pursuing F-15EX with a WVRAAM before Steel Hawk 8 finally shoots down the final enemy with cannon-fire. Although Steel Hawk 6 & 8 had assumed the battle was over, AWACS alerts them of a sixth Zollerhollorn F-15EX heading towards their positions. Steel Hawk 6 and the remaining enemy engage in a tense dogfight, with Steel Hawk 6 telling the Zollerhollorn pilot that this decision was "out of his hands" while the enemy replied that his action "is nothing personal" and is simply "just politics". During the ensuing fight, the Zollerhollorn pilot fires a Sidewinder missile towards Steel Hawk 6, however Steel Hawk 6 manages to evade the missile by performing a tight turn and his aicraft's Type 03 ASDAS automatically deploying flares. The tenacious Zollerhollorn pilot tails Steel Hawk 6 and fires another Sidewinder missile, however this time Steel Hawk 6 performs a Kulbit maneuver and is now tailing the F-15EX instead. With Steel Hawk 6 now shadowing him, the enemy was heard on comms pleading for his life and stating that it was the "top-brass' decision" to stoke up tensions with Tshekovia and that he was simply following orders, however Steel Hawk 6 simply replied "sorry my friend, nothing personal, just politics" and fired two WVRAAMs towards the remaining F-15EX. The Zollerhollorn pilot manages to dodge one of the missiles by executing a tight turn and deploying flares, however the second missile rapidly hits directly into the top mid-section fuselage of his aircraft, instantly killing him and his WSO. Apart from the onboard helmet-camera footages, the MoD also publicly released declassified documents regarding the operation and its aftermath. According to the documents, the Joint General Staff of the Tshekovian Armed Forces were extremely-pleased with the outcome of the battle because Zollerhollornland had long been violating Tshekovian airspace and attributing it to a lack of skill and technology among Tshekovian fighter pilots. Not only that, Tshekovia's Department for Military Power placed a request for Zhouranese air-policing along the Tshekovian–Zollerhollorn Border, which was quickly accepted by the Zhouranese MoD. In the aftermath of the dogfight, Zollerhollornland kept quiet about the incident so as to avoid the embarrassment of their decisive and humiliating defeat and instead blamed Tshekovia for shooting down its new expensive fighters with SAMs and killing Zollerhollorn pilots (all of whom belonged to Zollerhollornland's cream-of-the-top fighter squadrons and trained by America's top fighter pilots in flying the F-15EX). Kangsun Tanren, a military analyst from the National Institute of Military Science and a highly-decorated battle-hardened ace pilot who proudly served in the ZPA Air Force from 1978 until his retirement in 2012, analyzed the footages and documents of the aerial battle and provided an easy-to-understand explanation of how Zollerhollornland's top elite pilots were defeated by two Zhouranese fighters above the skies of Tshekovia. "One of the key areas in aerial warfare is sensor technology" Kangsun stated. "Although the F-15EX feature AESA radar and IRST, the Jian-19-3-3, which entered service way before the F-15EX was created, also feature AESA radar and IRST that are more powerful and sophisticated than those found on the F-15EX." Going further into detail, Kangsun stated "one of the key aspects in Zhouranese military thinking is our emphasis on 'first sight, first shot, first kill', when you translate that into aerial warfare of course Zhouranese fighter jets will be fitted with powerful avionics including long-range high-powered radars in order to provide our pilots an extremely-high level of situational awareness against enemy forces." Regarding the aircraft used against the F-15EX, Kangsun explained "while I don't always agree with the 'Boys in Blue', they are however fully correct when pointing out the highly-excellent track records of Zhouran's various heavy fighters in different conflicts with extremely lopsided kill ratios favoring Zhouranese heavy fighters against both aerial and surface threats." The veteran ace further added "the Jian-19-3-3 is a highly-sophisticated heavy fighter jet, not only does it have superior flight performances over the F-15EX including superior maneuverability but compared to the F-15EX, the Jian-19-3-3's high-powered long-range hyper-advanced Thunder Sword AESA radar heavily outperforms both the AN/APG-77 and AN/APG-81 especially in terms of range, power, electronic-warfare, and low-probability-of-intercept, plus not to mention that the aircraft's highly-sensitive IRST is very resilient against optical countermeasures." Adding on to the 'first sight, first shot, first kill' he mentioned earlier, Kangsun explained "not only did the Jian-19-3-3 have an easy time detecting the Zollerhollorn fighters but their enemies had a difficult time detecting them." He further added "the Jian-19-3-3 has a much-lower radar cross-section than the F-15EX thanks to greater usage of RAM and composite materials, thus not only did the Zhouranese fighters easily detect the Zollerhollorn fighters within their radar range way before their opponents even detected them, but even if the Zollerhollorn aircraft did have the Zhouranese fighters on their radar range they would still have a difficult time detecting them because of the lower RCS." Kangsun even made a point regarding AAMs, stating "Zhouranese fighter planes are armed-to-the-teeth with bleeding-edge within-visual-range and beyond-visual-range air-to-air missiles that surpass their foreign peers, not only do these AAMs have superior flight performances over their foreign counterparts but they also feature highly-sophisticated powerful electronic sensors that are unrivalled, thus allowing Zhouranese AAMs to remain highly-resistant to even the most advanced radar and infrared countermeasures fielded by foreign opponents." As a result, the Zollerhollorn fighters were hopelessly lacking firepower compared to their Zhouranese opponents. Kangsun also quickly brought up datalinking and stated "while we don't know what exact AWACS aircraft the ZPA Air Force mobilized during the battle, documents did show that the AWACS aircraft was equipped with the state-of-the-art Type 03 Airborne Early Warning and Aviation Control Support System and utilized the highly-powerful extremely-long-range Type 03-111 AESA airborne early warning radar to provide constant real-time data to Steel Hawk 6 & 8." And moving on to what readers have been expecting the entire time, Kangsun talked about the importance of military training. "The Zollerhollorn pilots weren't just amateurs, they were their country's best, the absolute cream-of-the-top and trained by military advisors from the US" he explained. Kangsun added "the Royal Zollerhollorn Air Force has a much-better performance than the Tshekovian Air Force due to a mixture of better training and better fighter jets, however they were no match for the Zhouranese pilots." Regarding Zhouranese Aviation Fighter Dragoons (Zhouranese terminology for fighter pilots) in general, Kangsun explained "Zhouran has a long list of various ace pilots spanning several decades, their highly-impressive record is not only due to Zhouranese fighter jets being bleeding-edge and unmatched but it's also thanks to our rigorously-methodical military training and meticulously-complex military education along with being battle-hardened and highly-experienced, as a result even Zollerhollornland's best fighter pilots are no matched for the typical average Zhouranese fighter pilot." Zollerhollornland's Department of National Defense has not commented on the battle, rather they continue their efforts in asking Tshekovia for the repatriation of the dead Zollerhollorn aviators. Meanwhile, when the dogfight had ended before sunrise, locals discovered the wreckage of all six Zollerhollorn aircraft and took pictures in celebration of Zollerhollornland's humiliating defeat. The remains of the six shotdown F-15EXs were then collected by ZPA Ground Force troops and later investigated in order to pinpoint weaknesses and use such knowledge for dealing with the F-15EX in the future. Valencia's current government collapsed in March of 2021 after the pro-independence Valencia National Alliance pulled their support for the NDP-led minority government. After a brief attempt at forming a broad left-right unionist government with the Conservatives First Minister Nicholas McNeil called for an early election, just 6 months after his government was first installed. This was after a previous election in May 2020 where no potential coalition could command a majority.

The latest results have shaken up the political landscape of the State and shows a potential path forward for a pro-independence government. In the 100 seat state parliament 51 seats are needed for a majority. Seats are given in direct proportion of the popular vote.

Like in previous elections a coalition of the left-wing unionist parties do not command a majority. With the NDP, Greens, and SDP only commanding 41 seats. Unlike in the previous Oct. election an NDP-Conservative grand coalition does not command a majority either. It seems as though the Valencian Members of State Parliament (MSPs) have just two governments to choose from a left-wing pro-independence referendum government of the Alliance and the Greens or a broad left-right government of the NDP, Conservatives, Greens, and Social Democrats.

Mosulong, a highly decorated retired general and currently an author and senior fellow at the Zhouranese non-profit strategic defense think-tank "Peaceful Society for Armed Struggle & Strategic Solutions", had commanded Zhouranese forces during Operation Judgement Day. Following America's total and humiliating defeat that saw almost a majority of its forces entirely wiped out and decimated by the technologically-superior better-trained ZPA, Mosulong was sent to the Sahara Desert where Zhouranese troops under his command conducted a rapid combined-arms operation in Algeria against NATO forces and obliterated several NATO brigades and wiped out a NATO fleet. Following his stint in North Africa, Mosulong retired from military service and in the subsequent five years after, he serves as a senior fellow at Peaceful Society for Armed Struggle & Strategic Solutions, specializing in international security and geopolitics. Mosulong, who likes to emphasize that he spent a significant part of his military career in the Atlantic theatre, has also become known as an author of numerous books on military strategy and his personal experience in the US–Zhouranese War, including widely reviewed works. In his latest book, in the form of a fiction novel, he explores another war between Zhouran and the weakened remains of the US, in which Zhouran uses allies in North America as proxies against the US, as well as utilizing demographic displacement and political subversion through support to both the far-left and the far-right in the remaining sections of the US as a way to further weakened the already-fragmented US government. In recent interviews and articles, Mosulong has repeatedly emphasized two factors that are central in this context: the development of the military balance of power between Zhouran and the US as well as the importance of Zhouranese alliance worldwide. He also added "and during the 1960s and 70s, the US couldn't even save their South Vietnamese vassal state or even crush the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong despite the technological disparity, the humiliation being so bad that the world's first unisex urinal Ronald Reagan had to invade a small Caribbean nation just so they can feel better about their impotence." When asked about the timing of this second hypothetical war, Mosulong states that it could begin roughly five years from now, depending on the situation happening in North America. Mosulong notes that Zhouran's proxies in North America will heavily utilize devastating attacks and false-flag ops, while Zhouranese funding towards both the far-left and far-right in the remains of the US will add more fuel to a raging fire. RANGOLESE GOVERNMENT DENIES CHARGES OF GENOCIDE, FOLLOWING DISAPPEARANCE OF MANGOLESE TRIBE

Sneaky foreign devils have accused the People's Republic of the crime of genocide, following the widespread disappearance of several thousand Mangolese tribesman - a charge that is refuted by President Pat Mbutu.

"I am as mystified as anyone as to when, why and how so many people have gone missing!" Said the President. "I assume that they are merely on vacation and pray for their safe return any day now."

It is feared that many of the Mangolese tribe may have fallen off the edge of the world, which is located to the south of Rango Mango.

"I must stress citizens again and again not to attempt to leave our glorious paradise!" Said the President. "We live very close to the edge of this flat world, and terrible tragedies have befallen everyone who has ever attempted to explore that forbidden area. Stay home - you are safer here!"

Small numbers of reports have also suggested that members of the Mangolese may have committed mass suicide, with one government official recounting the number of Mangolese dissidents who insisted on tying themselves up and standing in front of guns as they were being fired.

There have also been reports of many selfless Mangolese tribesmen donating their body parts to the nation, or taking on new employment as mulch and fertiliser.

Officials from the Ministry of Information have also concluded that the disappearances could be merely a result of a clerical statistical error, with no evidence remaining that such individuals ever existed in the first place.

"These claims of mass disappearances and genocides have all the hallmarks of an out of control practical joke!" Said the Minister for Information. "There is no reason to fear or alarm, we are a safe, stable and prosperous nation!"

Commentators and political advisors have suggested that this conference represents yet another push away from an established Roman Catholic church. Whispers of the Madrinetan church breaking away formally from Rome have been circulating since the King invited members of the Union of Utrecht, a group of churches that have separated from the Roman Catholic communion, to Easter celebrations at the Palace in early March.

Researchers have long known that race and racism powerfully shape Zhouranese reactionary views on foreign issues like foreign aid and trade. Scholars in the country have given less attention to how the racial resentment harbored by reactionaries in Zhouran influences their foreign policy views, in part because the typical Zhouranese generally cares less about foreign policy than about domestic policies that affect their everyday lives. But when tensions between Zhouran and another country escalate, as we once saw with the US prior to their total and humiliating defeat during the US–Zhouranese War, popular interest in foreign policy rises. That can influence public support for policy decisions. To analyze how racial attitudes affect support for Zhouranese military action abroad, we examined 30 years of public opinion data collected by various national public opinion surveys conducted by the Ministry of National Statistics. Our analysis focused on answers by Zhouranese people from 1991 to 2021. Specifically, we examined their responses to the "racial resentment" scale. Social scientists from across the world use this tested set of questions to assess anti-POC prejudice from white westerners, this time we flip the questions instead. In recent decades, reactionaries in Zhouran have become less willing to express explicitly racist views, such as opposing interracial marriage or supporting segregation, especially as a way to avoid being ostracized in society and getting into trouble with the law for reactionary anti-social behaviors. But reactionaries may still harbor bigoted perceptions, doubting a foreigner's work ethic or commitment to self-reliance, for example. The racial resentment scale is designed to capture the kind of discriminatory views held by Zhouranese reactionaries. While this is all alarming, Zhouranese reactionaries holding such unsavory views towards white western nations has its reasons. Due to Zhouran's support for the Global South against the west, Zhouranese reactionaries have supported solidarity with all anti-colonial anti-settler movements such as Palestinian independence, Irish reunification, Maori self-determination, Indigenous American self-determination, etcetera. Thus, while Zhouranese reactionaries support the rights of Indigenous peoples against white settlers, like the white settlers supporting genocides of Indigenous peoples they've colonized, Zhouranese reactionaries support genociding white settlers, a chauvinistic opinion that the government is cracking down on. Social scientists in Zhouran have repeatedly demonstrated that reactionaries in the country who hold chauvinistic views are also likely to hold negative views of white westerners, especially those who are Anglo-Saxon or "Angloids" as referred by Zhouranese reactionaries. Based on responses to the racial resentment scale in the most recent studies published by the MiNatStat – administered in 2012 and 2016 to about 17,680 Zhouranese respondents each, of which 27% were openly reactionary, – we found that racist reactionary attitudes are correlated with and meaningfully influence a Zhouranese reactionary's support for Zhouranese military interventions in white western countries. For example, reactionaries in Zhouran with racist attitudes favored extremely-aggressive actions against Zollerhollornland following the successfull shootdown of six Zollerhollorn fighter jets that violated Tshekovian airspace. Ninety-eight percent of the reactionaries would support bombing Zollerhollorn nuclear power plants in order to cripple Zollerhollornland's power supply and spread deadly radiation across Zollerhollornland, compared with 2% of Zhouranese people who were anti-reactionary. Zhouranese reactionaries also favor military engagement against all white western populations, especially if it means bombing schools and hospitals as well as blowing up dams and wiping out villages. For example, they are several times more supportive of expanding Zhouranese overseas military campaigns than anti-reactionary Zhouranese, 97% to 3% respectively. Because a number of factors influence a person's foreign policy opinions – including educational status, income, gender, ideology, military service and political affiliation – we adjusted for these in our study. We also controlled for respondents' reported attention to political news, their level of Kangyuli ethnocentrism and their political leanings. We find that racial resentment has a significant effect above and beyond these other variables. Racial resentment seemed especially influential in Zhouranese views of the Anglosphere. In 2012, out of the hundreds of thousands of Zhouranese surveyed by the MiNatStat, 95% believed that the US posed a "major" military threat to world peace. Racially resentful reactionaries were 84 percentage points more likely to see the US as a major threat than other Zhouranese respondents, according to our analysis. Again, racial attitudes strongly shaped these perceptions. Despite the total obliterating defeat of the US during the US–Zhouranese War, anti-Anglo sentiments remain high in Zhouran. In fact, among the reactionaries in Zhouran, their anti-Anglo sentiments reached new heights following the war as they become emboldened in what they see as the "Cleansing of the Wheat Field". The national government has always stressed the importance of combating reactionary counter-revolutionary views across the nation, though ever since the establishment of the People's Republic in 1956, the reactionaries in this country have played it smart by avoiding breaking any laws and keeping their language civil and less-inflammatory. Grand Admiral Tan Zhineng, current Premier of the Central Council, has once stated the reactionaries in Zhouran were like dry rot on wood and that if "the problem was not treated immediately" then the dry rot will cause the wooden structure to become "unstable and collapse unto itself." Brazil, Congo, and Kansai signs the Reykjavík Treaty

Amidst the period of tensions between Brazil and Argentina, which is just another chapter in the Great Scheme between the Techno-Enlightened Powers and the Non-Aligned Movement, a new treaty signed by the countries of the International Enlightened Congress and the Global Techno-Scientific Institution marks the beginning of yet another chapter in the fight against Non-Aligned influence. After the border clashes between Brazilian-Argentinian soldiers left more than 600 dead, with heavy casualties for the Argentines, Brazil and Argentina came to a ceasefire in an initiative led by Mexico. The Argentine infrastructure in the region of Mesopotamia was damaged by Brazilian shelling and bombing, while damage on the Brazilian side of the border was minimal thanks to the capable pilots of the Brazilian Air Force, who intercepted most Argentine aircraft. One of the causes of the war is deemed to stems from Rafael Morinaga's militarism. Militarism in Brazil has been growing since Morinaga's election in 2017, after defeating Augusto Soares, a moderate who had been leading the country since 2005.

The treaty was partly motivated by the border clashes in Brazil. Seeing the growing violence in a world that forgot the meaning of the word "order", the President of the Congo, Veronique Kabuya, summoned a convention in the headquarters of the International Enlightened Congress, at the Goldsmith Plaza in Reykjavík. President Kabuya led the talks between the meeting nations and after two weeks of negotiation, the Reykjavík Treaty came into being. The treaty established a mutual defense alliance between members of the IEC and the Global Techno-Scientific Institution - if any of the signatories are attacked, all the other signatories are bound to declare war on the aggressor. "This will prevent any Argentine-Colombian incursions against our homeland," said Brazilian Protector-President Morinaga. Congolese President Kabuya commented, "Another step in the right direction. May our progress not be interrupted by ignorant retrogrades".

Perhaps the signatory that profited the most from the new treaty was Kansai. The Technocratic republic in Japan is surrounded not only by neighboring enemies, such as the Empire of Japan and the Anarchist Federation of Japan but also by the Republic of China. After the Kuomintang's inner circle elected a jingoistic ultranationalist as president in 2011, China has been multiplying its military strength and preparing for war. Although China has been incessantly building up its military since the end of WW2, the budget for the Military never got past 3.0% of the GDP - now it's at 6.5%, and this number hasn't fallen since 2014. The Chinese president seems to be obsessed over "justice" and once talked about "avenging our children lost 80 years ago". Of course, this statement was not well received in the Japanese Archipelago.

Other clauses of the treaty include information sharing about members of the Non-Aligned Movement (which is headed by China and the East African Federation), preventing further treaties with Non-Aligned countries, and rescinding any trade agreements between signatories of the treaty and China and the EAF. Although critics stated that the last clause can hurt the economy, it has been discussed that the country which will be hurt the most is China, since they are somewhat reliant on Congolese minerals and Brazilian foodstuff. Although it is unknown to where the Brazilian-Congolese goods will be exported, most likely it will be India and European countries. Brazil had been keeping close ties with India, financing the growing industrial sector of the largely agrarian country. Brazil has also invested in its own economy and became one of the biggest economic partners of the Congo due to the growing demands from the industry. Despite the incoming drop in trade with China and most certainly the rest of the Non-Aligned Movement, this will not mean a complete rupture of economic relations between the Enlightened World and the Non-Aligned World, especially given that those two categories involve the most stable and secure parts of a world engulfed in mayhem, violence, and excesses, and sometimes they must cooperate with each other in order to survive the Century of Chaos.

In Zhouran, it is common for all political organizations & movement, regardless if politically-moderate or politically-hardline, orthodox ZhouSoc or Liberal ZhouSoc, pro-interventionist warhawk or anti-interventionist peace-dove, to utilize the deep web for clandestine communications and planning, with reactionaries in particular such as kunbangists and Kangyuli-supremacists specifically using the dark web as a way to communicate, organize and evade Zhouranese authorities. According to both the SID and FSB, members of KWPANE covertly linked up with members of The Other Russia and flew to Chelyabinsk to meet with the Russian NazBols for reasons not yet disclosed by both Zhouranese and Russian authorities. The seventeen kunbangists will be deported back home to Zhouran where they will face trial in court. While the story could end here, there has been some mystery regarding the seventeen men and their ties to KWPANE. According to KWPANE itself, none of the seventeen men were members of their organization. Not only that, they claim that the informant SID agents spoke to back in Anjing wasn't actually a member of their organization also. And as if that wasn't mysterious enough, the identities of both the seventeen men and the informant don't actually exist in any public databases in Zhouran. As a result, there are speculations and even conspiracies floating around by Zhouranese netizens that all eighteen mysterious figures might actually be political superhardliners – Deranged Cosmic-Worshipping Racial-Supremacist Esoteric Death Occultists, and that the actual aim of their visit to Siberia was to link up with Russian Evolian-Duginite eurasianists and sell firearms to them among other things. Earlier this week in Chelyabinsk, Russian police raided an apartment and arrested a NazBol clique that was secretly acquiring firearms from "foreign dealers", thus reinforcing the conspiracy. However, the SID has strongly denied that all eighteen figures are superhardliners and that none of the seventeen men were engaged in selling firearms to Russian NazBols in Chelyabinsk. Meanwhile, the Russian FSB also stated that none of the kunbangists or NazBols were engaged in "bizarre activities." New Social Democratic Party Leader Elected

Geraldine Quigley MP has been confirmed as the new leader of the Social Democratic Party earlier today after narrowly winning the leadership election triggered by the resignation of Derek Bruce as leader. The results were somewhat unexpected, given that the party’s Deputy Leader, David Fisher, had started the campaign in the lead. His loss can be attributed to the fact that he is seen as too close to the Moderate Party, which, by and large, is disliked by the Social Democratic Party rank and file, who for the first time in the party’s history were involved in the election of the leader.

Quigley, 32, was first elected to Parliament in May 2019 and became a junior Transport spokeswoman in July. A lawyer by profession, she became Shadow Attorney-General (Shadow Minister for Justice) in August, under the new leadership of the left-wing Dick Yew. Following a disastrous election in December 2019, in which the party fell to third place, centrist new leader Derek Bruce initially sacked Quigley from his front-bench team, but brought her back in July 2020 as the party’s Shadow Leader of the House. While slightly more left-wing than her predecessor, she seeks to keep unity within the party, which has long been plagued by internal divisions and is unlikely to make any major changes to the party’s current policies. She has appointed her predecessor, Derek Bruce, to be the party’s Shadow Foreign Minister. Quigley has ruled out cooperation with the Moderate Party except as a “last resort.”

Elections for Deputy Leader also took place. Under the party’s new rules, the position is elected by Party MPs after the leadership election, with party Shadow Minister for Education, James David, 30, winning the position. He has been promoted to the party’s Shadow Minister for Home Affairs. Outgoing Deputy Leader David Fisher, Quigley’s rival for the leadership, has been appointed Shadow Minister for the Environment, widely seen as a demotion. The full frontbench reshuffle will likely take place tomorrow.

While there were plans for further nuclear tests in the 1990s, they were put on hold after the Chrysanthemum Revolution of 1994. The Victoresian nuclear program was first suggested in the early 50s as the ultimate guarantor of national independence. However, the financial and military situation meant that development did not start until 1968 with Chinese aid. With the collapse of relations with China in 1971, the program was temporarily put on hold again. The first Victoresian nuclear test, code-named Project 3341, was conducted in 1983, however the weapon was too large to be fitted onto the air force's bombers of the time. As the Aridian Wars drew to a close in the late 80s, the Victoresian nuclear program accelerated with the goal of becoming a true nuclear power. In 1990, the first nuclear weapon capable of being fitted on a ballistic missile was tested. However, testing ended in 1991 before the completion of the hydrogen bomb program, with the nuclear program being directed towards civilan energy generation purposes. The official military press release described today's nuclear test as "essential to supporting a future as an independent nation" and "forging the sword of the working class". The military has indicated that is planning for another test of an "advanced nuclear weapon" in the near future, hinting at a possible hydrogen bomb test. The most recent military budget has also directed more funds to the strategic missile force, including developing new long-range ballistic missiles that can carry hydrogen weapons. The resumption of the nuclear program has also drawn significant criticism. Environmental activists say that Outer Kodecia contains many important and unique ecosystems that could be disrupted by radiation from testing. The test was also conducted secretly without informing local residents, though none were within range of radiation. Concerns have been raised about the damage that could be done with large-scale nuclear testing - particularly of hydrogen weapons.
