Vouli – Social Democrat Alliance, overall control. The Prime Minister of the Vouli is also a Social Democrat, but is elected through the same system as the Mayor of London.

Gerousia – Social Democrat Alliance, largest alliance with no overall control – there are no special consequences for having an overall majority – cabinet positions are allocated by proportional representation, as with how the Gerousia is elected. Which MG gets which job is negotiated by the parties, which can take weeks or months. There is always at least one independent member of the cabinet. The Prime Minister of the Gerousia is elected by the parliament, and any MG from any party can put themselves forward, but normally (but not always) they choose someone from the majority party. The job of the Prime Minister counts towards the cabinet proportionality rule.

The cycles and culture of Confederate Aleckandorean politics are unique in that they are paradoxically centralized and decentralized at the same time. Partisan politics by and large only exist on the provincial level, since Aleckandor is a transnational commonwealth whose components are entire national entities rendered as lower governmental polities of a much larger whole. This is, of course, assuming that the provinces and other full-status territories we are talking about here have parliamentarian and/or republican forms of government — which, for Aleckandor, is only a general trend rather than a rule, as hereditary constitutional monarchies and even authoritarian oligarchies could be counted as being underneath the gigantic umbrella that is the GSCA. With all this being said, it does appear that a huge section of the Confederacy subscribes to the core ideological tenets of Zenithalism.
