Do both men and women have to do National Service? No. Only men are required do National Service. Women may voluntarily join the women's services.
When are people draughted in for National Service? Men from the age of majorty, twenty, are called up into the Militia although he may choose to join from the age of sixteen. He will receive a letter in July, January and May every year reminding him of his duty to his country and to inform him of the location and date of the next registration day. A man must join the Militia before his twenty-fifth birthday. If a man fails to present himself, he may be liable to imprisonment up to two years and a fine.

Any person who has applied for and received special exemption such as sole bread-winner

- 12st of July, 2003: He receives a call-up letter informing him of the call-up day on the 3rd of August
3rd of August, 2003: He travels by train to Sundenbridge Barracks and presents himself for registration.
5th of August, 2003: He begins training.
8th of February, 2005: He completes his training and is released into the Militia.
8th of February, 2018: Compulsory Militia service concludes.
