Yeah, and I wanted to avoid confusion with RL Japan, but at the same time, that was first version that the Portuguese came with (which was however switched when Japan reopened due to phonetic shift). At the same time Kanji in my signature means "two winds" referring to the Nifonese legend of Admiral Yi (who was the first Emperor according to it).

Nemawashi actually defines itself as "natiocracy" or "rule of a sovereign nation". It is fully supportive of the nation to the point where it sees it as one of main actors in social theories. It also however notes that nation was formed out of individuals.

Kojiro's thinking, so to say, is based on mix of collectivism and individualism: from one side respect of individual's freedom, on the other hand firm emphasis on giri (duty to the group).

I would rather not measure individualism per se, but that said, there is no official school. Kojiro's government has been famous for "whatever works" approach and firm orientation on practicality.

I'm curious as to what the Nifonese would make of the Ruvian system of government (presented in greater detail in my factbook), on the one hand it seems to follow a Triune type pattern in how it separates it's power:

popular suffrage: the Imperial Senate (legislative branch) it's members are elected by the popular vote and hold their offices through the consent of the majority of citizens they represent.

merit: Members of the Ruvian Supreme Court are geniuses at the top of the legal profession both in terms of their practical experience as well as being leaders in academic legal theory. The responsibility of choosing which candidates are to be considered by the senate has been given to the King of Ru partly because tradition demands that the King remain a political independant, so in theory the opportunity to sit on the court is given based on merit alone.

Heredity: The King of Ru rules for life based on right of inheritance, and maintains many important executive functions.

On the other hand they may feel as though Ru has gone too far towards putting power in the hands of the common man, since the King must be able to cooperate with a Royal Chancellor who is elected through popular suffrage. The two share many powers that require the consent of the other.

Also, despite being the official religion, The clergy of the Faith of Cael is separated from governance of Ru under our constitution. Though it can be argued, and many have, that this separation is supported by the holy texts

I would like to point something about Nemawashi and the role it plays in Nifonese society. Unlike the Westerners, Nifonese pretty much do not like abstraction and very rarely use it, and it is replaced by use of symbolic imagery.

Nemawashi is not really any sort of guiding abstract orthodoxy in Nifonese society, but rather a set of guidelines of how social relations should be conducted, how the government should be ran, etc. etc. It is never to be taken absolutely and is virtually always open to individual interpretation.
