Does YN have a state religion? No, the Democratic Republic of Cadron is a secular nation.
If so, does your government's laws and legislature rely mostly or entirely on that religion's ideas? No, Cadron's legislation and laws almost never even mention Cadron's religions.
What is the biggest religion in YN (not including atheism)? Christianity and Judaism are the two largest religions in Cadron. Most Jewish people in Cadron follow Messianic Judaism, a sect accepting the Christian idea of Jesus as the Jewish Messiah, however.
Is your populace religious? Yes. Cadron's citizens are extremely devout.
What is the state of religious freedom in YN? Citizens are allowed to practice whatever religion they desire, including more extreme religions like Puritanism. Only restriction is that a citizen's religious practice does not interfere with the daily lives and practices of others.

In Cadron, Jewish and Christian citizens are often encouraged to teach their children and themselves to speak Hebrew, which is considered to be a holy language, spoken by God, as well as Jesus of Nazareth, whom many Christian citizens regard as the Messiah. Jewish citizens also commonly teach their children to speak Yiddish for everyday conversation while Christian citizens teach their children to speak English or their family's native language for everyday conversation, as Hebrew is considered ultimately holy and speaking the language for everyday conversations is considered a blasphemy. Some Roman Catholic families taught their children Latin as opposed to Hebrew.

What is the state of religious freedom in YN? There is no religious freedom, you convert or die.

Does YN have a state religion?Yes
If so, does your government's laws and legislature rely mostly or entirely on that religion's ideas? The Established Church is the conscience of the state, and all Law can be deduced from Nature and Scripture which is the strongest protector of the rights, privileges, and immunities of each and every indivual.
What is the biggest religion in YN (not including atheism)?Christianity (Orthodox Church of the Pioneer, Presbyterian)
Is your populace religious?Yes
What is the state of religious freedom in YN?The Commonwealth recognizes Freedom of Conscience and the Right to free exercise thereof.
If your majority religion tolerates the concept or idea, answer with O. If not, answer with X. Note that this doesn't apply to the populace as a whole; this only refers to the followers of the biggest religion in YN. Comments welcome.
Atheism: [O] The Biblical right to freedom of conscience includes acknowledgment of the sincere belief that there is no God. No man can force anyone to be a Christian. That is a prerogative of God and Him alone.
People not in your religion: [O] The Right to free exercise includes those who do not recognize the tenets of Christianity. Only in a state where persons are free to live and decide for themselves by suation in the public fora, and by examples of others to the right and meaningful purpose of existence can one come to an informed decision regarding the good news of Jesus Christ.
Polygamy: [X] In Narland marriage is rightly and naturally between one man and one woman.
Pornography: [X/O] The use of imagery to incite illicit sexual behaviour is illegal. Nakedness and art depicting natural persons is not pornography. Each community decides what is withing bounds of their cultural norms.
Homosexuality: [X/O] Homosexuality is a crime against nature within the Commonwealth of Narland except for Heatherbrook Canton and Narport County.
The rest of the LGBT community: [X/O] Same as above.
Sodomy: [X/O] Forced sodomy, like forced rape is a crime that may warrant the death penalty. Narland practices negative enforcement of laws (Police do not go around looking for violators of public policy as in 21st century US). What consenting adults do in the privacy of their own homes as long no other contractual obligations are violated, or no harm is done to individuals or society are none of the governments business. However, destroying the public morals, causing bodily harm, knowingly spreading disease, effacing the sanctity of marriage, marring the natural generation of the perpetuation of the species in lawless manners is. It is not illegal in Heatherbrook Canton and Narport County.
Insobriety: [X] May aggravate a crime when breach of peace is involved (e.g., disorderly conduct). Drunkenness is only a crime when person endangers himself or others. Happy drunks are left be. Happily stoned hippies are only a threat if they they raid the local convenience store for munchies. Everyone is happier after a little bit of chocolate.
Fornication: [X] Adultery, and fornication is against the law, but only prosecuted if an offended party presses charges.
Stem cell research: [O] Legal as long as no children are harmed in the process.
Science in general: [O] One of the directives of the Constitution is to facilitate science.
Abortion: [O/X] Inducing abortion to save the life of the mother is not illegal. Natural abortion is not illegal. Performing abortions after the first trimester for convenience is
Contraception: [O] Roman Catholics are the main opponents of contraception in Narland, and may be unavailable in Roman Catholic communities.
Women leading in your religion: [O/X] Women leaders are common, and are Apostles (missionaries, business leaders, and charitable operators), Prophetesses (preachers, analysts, lecturers), Evangelists (apologists and essayists), Pastors (psychologists, counselors, therapists and caregivers), and Teachers (educators, mentors etc). Eldresses deal exclusively with women’s issues, and deaconesses generally so, but not always. However, women are not permitted to emasculate men, commit patricide or teach such things, nor usurp lawful authority just because they are men.
Men leading in your religion: [O/X] Men leaders are norm. Elders (and Eldership offices such as Presbyters, and General Presbyters), and Clerical Pastors are exclusively so. However men are not allowed to oppress women, nor denigrate femininity.
Is there any other information needed to be aware?Evangelical Christians who hold to natural physical economy (ethical free enterprise) will be most comfortable in this nation, however, Anabaptist sects have prospered, and persecuted Syrian Christians will find themselves welcome. Secular Humanists who are tolerant of Christians and accepting of Christianity have prospered as most forms of Christianity hold to some expression of Christian Humanism that has its roots in the Reformation, Renaissance, and rise of Western Civ. Buddhism and Roman Catholicism while not considered innately Narlandish are generally accepted.

Militant religious movements such as Disciples of Armageddon, Ascendance Now!, polygamist Joshephites, Christian Rearmament Movement are suspect and unwelcome. Groups that have been deemed irreligious (using religion in an unlawful manner) are illegal such as Islam, Aryan Nations, the KKK, or Research Institute of Neuroexpressive Analysis for Blissful Annihilation (RINABA). This nation is not kind to regressive liberals, socialists of any stripe, or religions that deny the inherent rights of individuals to life, liberty and property and peaceable and lawful behaviour that is to be understood as basic civic duty.

If so, does your government's laws and legislature rely mostly or entirely on that religion's ideas? Not necessarily, though there is a significant portion of the citizenry that would prefer it if the government did more to reflect the ideals of the Faith.

Is there any other information needed to be aware? The King of Ru is considered a descendant of divinity by the Faith, and though most Ruvians, even any religious ones, do not truly believe it any longer, it is not all that uncommon for the people of Ru to still act as if it were true. According to the Faith, the King is charged with acting as a bridge between the secular domain of Law and Governance, associated with his Hand (these days the elected Castellan) and his Council and local lords (these days the senate, cabinet, and other politicians) and the religious domain which concerns the affairs of the soul (primarily associated with church hierarchy) by promoting a secular morality that all loyal Ruvians, regardless of their professed faith or lack of, can and should accept.

"The Faith charges The Castellan and the Senator with being a fair and able leader of men,
It charges the high priest with being a person of inspiring moral character,
It charges the King to be both."

Does YN have a state religion? Not officially. However Purpelian traditional religious beliefs are de facto practiced as such.
If so, does your government's laws and legislature rely mostly or entirely on that religion's ideas? Not entirely. But it has shaped our culture during the ages and our laws are tuned to our culture so it does effect our laws indirectly to some extrent.
What is the biggest religion in YN (not including atheism)? Traditional Purpelian beliefs. Although there is no organized church for them as such.
Is your populace religious? Religious as in staunch believers, no. However most people do identify as leaning toward the traditional beliefs even if it is at a "knock on wood" type level.
What is the state of religious freedom in YN? Freedom of religion is limited in Purpelia. Basically you can be areligious, believe in the Purpelian beliefs or anywhere in between and that is accepted and protected. But foreign faiths are not. It is illegal to perform missionary actions in our country or try and build up foreign religious communities or temples. And any foreigners caught doing so are deported and barred from ever entering legally again.

If your majority religion tolerates the concept or idea, answer with O. If not, answer with X. Note that this doesn't apply to the populace as a whole; this only refers to the followers of the biggest religion in YN. Comments welcome.

Women leading in your religion: The Purpelian national beliefs are not an organized religion with a church and priesthood. Temples are maintained by volunteers and these can be male or female.
Men leading in your religion: See above.
Is there any other information needed to be aware? The Purpelian national beliefs are not an organized religion with a church and priesthood. There are temples maintained by volunteers who act as defacto priests but they are closer to monks than an actual priesthood. They draw their authority by virtue of being the guy that lives in the temple and spends all day meditating and the fact that they've done the ritual so many times already they know the steps by heart. Also, the actual rituals and customs vary a lot regionally.
Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

The above post contains hyperbole, metaphoric language, embellishment and exaggeration. It may also include badly translated figures of speech and misused idioms. Analyze accordingly.
