A tug of war between the Tsar and the Duma commences lasting up until the February Revolution. Old Nick gets the boot, and Bolsheviks attempt to overthrow the government. Due to having far less popular support, their attempt fails but still causes a nationwide revolution. The imperial family is murdered by panicking Bolsheviks, and eventually Grand Duke Kirill is invited to take the throne as a full constitutional monarch. WW2 happens, defeats angry Austrian man's Germany. Cold War happens with United States that has continued to the new millennium. Present day, the Russian Empire stands strong, although cracks are beginning to show in the country...

So imagine a nation with the landscape and rural areas of the Philippines, with the suburbs being AusMex (Australian and Mexican) but more dense, and the downtown areas being the blursed triple combo of Mexico, Japan and New Zealand, but as usual very pedestrianized and bike-friendly. Oh and don't forget that the government is hella progressive, like too progressive to map onto any existing nation.
