It was not until much more recently when Chadtonia became a democratic country and held presidential elections. Yet, according to current law, a president is considered also a member of a royal standing as "emperor-in-effect." Chadtonia's current government is a Federal Democratic Republic.

Though its territories have since diminished, it remains a regional power in Europe famous for its wide range of environments including breathtaking mountains, rich farmlands, and lively wetlands.

As for the people, they are very pro-Free Market, charitable, and hospitable towards others. Integration into Scytharum isn't terribly difficult, as the society largely functions on individuality with a common values set: largely those of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Fulfillment, as stated in the Scythaic Constitution. The people are able to freely vote, move about the UCS, run for political office, or even start their own political parties. Hard work is viewed as vital in Scythaic society, as the value of charity only goes so far as that gift is used to better one's life, rather than just indiscriminate charity, and being pro-meritocracy is a value shared by just about every Scythaic.
