Traditional Saunrean culture, having a focus on the family, of course discourages asexuality along with any other orientation that is incapable of producing children and extending the bloodline. However, historically, there have been a number of asexuals relevant and recorded in the annals of Saunrea, many of them government officials praised for their performance and even monarchs of great achievement; many hypothesize that, without the great pressure both biologically and socially as a result of sexual orientations, these individuals were able to concentrate their minds on betterment of the country and other achievements, without the burden of love or family. Whether asexuality is virtuous or not with reference to these cases has been fiercely debated by writers and artists of the times.

In modern Saunrea, compared to non-traditional sexual orientations of homo- and bi-sexuality and transgenderism, asexuality is looked upon with relatively positive light. Most have a neutral view of it, and the state doesn't really care either.

Most of the people of Devon Teyson are pretty clearly aligned toward one sexual orientation or another and do experience a definable attraction. Legally speaking, it's illegal to discriminate based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
