What happens if your leader is temporarily unable to lead?

If the president is unable to lead, the VP takes his place

If the president can't lead, the Vice President would take over, if the Vice President can't lead, Leader of the House of Reps take the leadership, If in some freaky occurance those three cannot lead, The Leader of the Senate Takes the role of president. Here is a list of our layers of presidency:

If the Prime Minister is suddenly unable to execute their duties, the second most senior minister in the cabinet – the Foreign Minister – takes charge.

In the case of the Governor-General, a group of commissioners empowered by a Letters Patent signed by the GG temporarily assume the duties.

(Should be noted that even normally, our leader, Sister Hyun Ae-Mao leads by working with the House of Priests and [to a somewhat lesser extent] the House of the Commoners, so having an entire house of our legislature leading isn't that abnormal)

In the case of the Emperor being unable to carry out his duties, a Regent will be appointed to rule on the emperor's behalf, usually, another Archduke or the heir.

If the deputy is also unavailable, then the next executive member of the cabinet takes the role temporarily (the minister of foreign affairs, usually). In the most extreme scenarios, the parliament chooses the replacement for the time being.

If the Senior Minister of Government were unable to lead the Parliament of Ministers, his role would default to the Junior Minister of Government if they are of the same party. If either the Junior Minister of Government were unable to lead or they were of a different party, it would pass either to the leader of the minority party of the coalition government or the the leader of the opposition party if there is no coalition government.

As for the Two Kingdoms themselves, similar systems exist within their parliaments. Specifically, were the Prime Minister of Maltivia incapacitated, the Minister of the Treasury would take over. Were the Prime Minister of Citaria incapacitated, the President of Citaria would take over.

As with the old American government, the position as President goes to the Vice President, who is chosen by the President during his or her campaign, if the President is impeached or unable to lead the nation for whatever reason.

If the entire designated Federation line of succession is out of contact, control passes to the President of Fleuri, then the President of Paix, then to a complicated ladder which corresponds roughly but not perfectly to the order in which planets joined the Federation or were colonised.

The executive is a council of ten members so one dropping out isn't a huge problem. If any one is incapacitated, their aide-de-camp fills in until they return or are replaced.
