In China, typewriters are still occasionally used for typing onto pieces of paper with irregular shapes, or when precision is imperative, but otherwise computerized office equipment have taken over by and large. The electric Selectric is used for typing English characters; they are made by IBM.

Are typewriters still widely used in your nation? They were until about 2005. Nowadays some small post-offices, banks and government offices in very rural areas where electricity is not available still use them. Usage is declining sharply with introduction of electricity. The Merni Typewriter Preservation Society seeks to preserve the legacy of typewriters and has been granted a permanent exhibition space in the National Museum of Writing and Printing.

What kind are they (manual, electric, electronic)? Manual.

What are some famous typewriter brands? The most well-known and common brand is National, which used to be owned by National Railway Company until 1998 (hence the name). It still produces typewriters as an independent company. Other brands are Silver Crown, Eagle and Universal.

Typewriters have never been common in Fatatatutti. In the olden days, most things were hand-written. Even at our largest newspapers, such as the Wong Street Jouranl, the type-setters worked from hand-written copy until the 1990s. Since then, everything is written, edited and printed electronically.

Are typewriters still widely used in your nation?
No. Typewriters began to be phased out in the mid 1980's with the introduction of computers and the retirement expanded quickly as personal computers became more cheaper. By 2000, less than one percent of businesses in Valcluse still used typewriters.

What kind are they (manual, electric, electronic)?
The first typewriters introduced in the 1910's were manual but they were replaced in the 1970's with electronic types.

What are some famous typewriter brands?
There were numerous brands but the most famous Valclusian brand was Cheval MAE (the latter standing for machine à écrire) which manufactured typewriters until 2003 before it closed due to lack of sales.

Are typewriters still widely used in your nation? Yes. It's just the old-fashioned charm that typewriters give that makes most writers use it.

What kind are they (manual, electric, electronic)? Yes. By that, we mean all three of them.

What are some famous typewriter brands? Quite a lot of brands, both international and local. But the top three are the Vintage Typers, Authentic Writing, and the Old-Timey Troperian brands.

Are typewriters still widely used in your nation? There's still a few lying around but they took a nosedive in the late 80's that they never recovered from. However, Intelligence agencies and others with things to hide have been known to use them for cybersecurity reasons.

What kind are they (manual, electric, electronic)? All 3 varieties have been present at one time or another but most of the remaining examples are electric. The electronic models sold well enough in their day but most wore out decades ago, leaving the simpler electric typewriters to be put back into service.

What are some famous typewriter brands? S.E.I., IBM, Faller.

Are typewriters still widely used in your nation? Yes. Most people have computers that they use for most tasks, but a large number of people (between 35% and 50% according to polls) still use typewriters when it comes to writing documents. Electronic typewriters used here usually have the ability to add pictures, graphs, and charts, and manual typewriters come with stamps to create the layout for charts and graphs.

What kind are they (manual, electric, electronic)? All three kinds are used, manual and electronic being the most popular.

What are some famous typewriter brands? Morriston and Thoroughbred make only manual typewriters, Milestone makes only electric and electronic ones, and Endeavor and the Citadel Typewriter Company make all three kinds.

Are typewriters still widely used in your nation?
Yes, typewriters are still widely used in Afaenvia, following a strong tradition that was started in the 1970s, when State Council announced a nation-wide programme to improve literacy rates and education among the citizens through the issue of free typewriters to encourage reading and writing among the common populace.

The use of typewriters remains a cult favourite among the citizens of Afaenvia, its portrayal very evident in local domestic films and dramas, always as being a very artistic way to conduct typing work. However, its use does not overshadow the rise of personal computers, desktops and other computing processors. In fact, they either work alongside or in tandem with each other.

What kind are they (manual, electric, electronic)?
Among the general kinds of typewriters that could be found across the Afaenvian populace include the manual, electric and electronic typewriters. However, the manual typewriters still retain a large following due to its craftmanship, the ability to personally customise it and the expertise needed to properly maintain and operate it to optimum standard.

What are some famous typewriter brands?
Some famous typewriter brands sold and used in Afaenvia include the Royal, Imperial, Olympia, Smith-Corona, Olivetti, Underwood, Xerox and Hermes. The most common model sold and in use among the population is the Lettera 22 and 32 from Olivetti and the Universal Portable and Model 255 from Underwood.
