The reasons why some nations might hate me is:
1. We believe in some Nationalist Ideals
2. German and Norwegian based Country with some Asian influence.
3. We are insane about protecting the country.
4. We use NUKES
5. Respects other German / Nordic based Nations. (Mainly German)
6. Supports Gay Rights (???)

Ya' ask why our folks have so many guns and know how to use them? Well, let's get started.

- For many reasons, non-libertarian right wing folks and authoritarian left wing folks really hate us with passion. Our sexual freedom (between consenting adults of course, no pedos allowed), booze, weed, absense of racism, secualrism, relaxed way of life and mutual aid frequently make them go bananas. They say many things, with mean, mean words. Sometimes even threaten to send a crusade or bunch death squads to kill us for so called degeneracy. Rarely, they even take action. We had to fight off a crusade.

- Hardline communists think, we are bourgeois class and wanna take all our hard earned riches.

- The fact, that we are rather expansionist, pisses off the international community. Also, when we come and raid, kill and pillage the bad guys. Slavers, cartels, dictatorships, nazi remnants and other scumbags.

- Our high tech researches annoy religious folks.

- Some elitists think, we are uncivilzed. But we don't give a damn.

Either way, we have a long list of not only friends, but enemies.
Sky Reavers are retconned Skyhooked. A bunch of crazy, wild everpartying semi-anarchists, who are resistant to cold, heat and diseases, can can proccess booze like hell. MT/PMT tech. Wanna know more or have a request? It's here: https://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=505973

Remember, the fact, that we are semi-anarchy doesn't mena, that ya' can go around and rob random people. We still got law and order, loose as they are.

Many continental Italians still resent the Atlantic Union for opposing Italy in WW2. The population of the Union is mostly descendants of Italian protestant refugees who have been aligned with the United Kingdom historically.

The last few remaining nation states oppose us on the grounds of our globalising, homogenising tendencies and their innate opposition to individual sovereignty & free markets. The alien races we have encountered have been for the most part friendly, welcoming, and willing to engage - we have not faced any opposition from them

Probably the xenophobia, nationalism, and authoritarianism, all three of which are on the rise.

The view of Hapiloppians abroad is likely that of the "Idiot Hapiloppian," which is the stereotypical Hapiloppian that drinks too much and acts like a bumbling moron everywhere he goes. These are the people that do dumb things and their antics can be seen across social media as and example of what not to act like. Think "Florida Man."

More religious types will likely have a dim view of Hapilopper's view on religion. Hapiloppians are not anti-religion, but rather view it as something so unimportant, it's not worth thinking about, much less believing in.

Despite having free elections in the Parliament, the nation is still primarily controlled by the King (Monarch) and the Nobility. There's also the punitive tax laws and a low income inequality which essentially makes the rich not so rich anymore. And finally, the nation is leaning towards pacifism, with a low number of people serving in the military (while still having developed technology).

Haremm does not necessarily reflect my personal views and opinions.

Mostly because we're socialist and protectionist - 2 things the USA doesn't like. Some people say our elections are unfair, but they are very fair. And we have interfered at times in other nations' internal affairs - mostly to support environmental causes.
My nation - which is pretty much just a unified Korea with some extra territory - represents my real views. NS stats only broadly correct, trust the factbooks over them. Feel free to call me Q&K, Quartia, or any other nickname.

1. Our lack of a large police force. Somehow, we are seen as "too chaotic" and "unruly" by the majority of monarchies. I'm sorry the people have their own law and orders they follow, Queen Bethany 95995954848388439348.
2. The fact Mexico is united with Florida.
3. Our laziness. Also due to the fact we deleted our wikipedia page.
4. Our citizens like to shitpost on just about every media. lole.

Compulsory Consumerist State

Postby Slaver Pirates of Vaas » Wed Jan 20, 2021 12:20 am

Likely reasons for why individuals oppose the Pirate State:

  • Authoritarian
  • The fact the legal code of the Pirate State only really applies toward transgressions against the state. This effectively makes murder, rape, theft, and kidnapping completely legal as long as it is not done against the Pirate State or its personnel. The only way for civilians to seek help from the Pirate State for these crimes is to pay the military police to deal with the situation.
  • Rampant Corruption (please see above)
  • Practices Slavery
  • Huge exporter of guns, drugs, and slaves
  • Is an illegal/rouge nation that is unrecognized by any international body.
  • Practices Piracy
  • The Pirate State rules over Saint Lucia island, which was effectively stolen from the British when they were too busy fighting in WW2.
  • The nation is lead and run by criminals. Vaas himself, the head of the Pirate State, was a Brazilian gangster and professional trafficker before 1941.
  • Helping the CIA topple Latin American governments by trafficking drugs to raise money for anti-communist insurrection groups.
  • No regulation of the local market on the island (basically Laissez-faire capitalism).
  • Possess significant power over many Latin American nations, especially Mexico. This is due to the presence of corrupt government officials willing to accept bribes from criminal organizations and the Pirate State itself.
  • Heavily practices war profiteering
  • No court system
  • Any crimes committed under the jurisdiction of the Pirate State often results in beatings, execution, exile from the island, sold into slavery, and/or prison time with hard labor.
  • Military police can be bribed to arrest someone and have them punished despite there being no evidence that a crime has been committed.
  • The fact that there seems to be a phenomenon within the slave market in which slaves who have an abnormal sexual identity or orientation (ie. LGBTQ+) are sold at a much higher value compared to their heterosexual counterparts. This phenomenon is apparent regardless of gender.

Some more liberal countries despise that we do not let certain kinds of people live in our country. People from nations that are considered hostile or have cultures that are vastly opposed to the South Appalachian way of life and moral compass, are not allowed to immigrate to the USSA. Some may travel here but may be subjected to additional screening.

On a related note, every Appalachian citizen is required to have a working knowledge of the English language. Appalachians can be of many colors, although the majority of us are White. There are black Appalachians, Native Appalachians and mixed people. But culturally, assimilation is very important in this nation. We believe cultural homogeneity (not nessecarily racial, but cultural) is the key to a peaceful country. Our shared cultural identity is a mix of white, black and aboriginal traditions. But you'll never see enclaves of Hispanic, Chinese, etc. here like you might see in other North American nations. You will hear either English, Cherokee or other Native Appalachian languages while you are here, but you won't often hear foreign tongues.

We have also gotten some hate for using a Confederate flag, however our people see it as a symbol of Southern Pride and our independence from the former USA.
Political compass:
Economic Left/Right: 5.0
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.23

1)We are highly developed yet we're anti-democratic
2)Our first leader was somehow both very Humanitarian and Genocidal. Being that he uplifted around 200 million people out of poverty, it is also estimated that he exterminated around 16-18 million people; that being said, they were people that many of us would not have missed i.e. rapists, violent murderers, adulterers, and alcoholics
3)high taxes
