Is Social Democracy popular in your nation?

Although Grand Princess Sophia of Hestia decides to practice a direct democracy system for the state of Hestia, it is hardly equivalent to this suspiciously communistic idea.

Is the current government social democratic?

No, the idea itself is abhorred.

What is the status of welfare in your nation?

Is Social Democracy popular in your nation?
Yes, it is generally considered to have been responsible for East Gondwana's currently successful society, however many still have misgivings about its relationship with the private sector and would like to see some more private economic freedoms.

Is the current government social democratic?
The Progressive/Social Democrat/Sustainables coalition government would largely be considered to be Social Democrats, but the Progressives (the senior party of the coalition) would like to move economic policy a little to the right of where the SocDems would like it.

What is the status of welfare in your nation?
East Gondwana has a proud and long history of providing extensive social welfare to help create an equitable and fair society. We currently rank in the top 2% of the world for largest Welfare states.

Is the current government social democratic?
What is the status of welfare in your nation?

1.) Somewhat, the entire populace is relatively left leaning, but the left vote is usually dominated by the Liberal Party, a centre-centre left, socially liberal, Party currently in Government.
2.) No, though the New Democratic Party is a social democratic party and currenlty has 28/350 seats in Parliament, dwarfed by the large Liberal Majority Government that has 184/350/
3.) Healthy, but not often abused. Cutting the social safety net is largely disdained in our nation, only promoted by the far right.

Government is the great fiction, through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else.
Everyone wants to live at the expense of the state. They forget that the state wants to live at the expense of everyone.
Each of us has a natural right, from God, to defend his person, his liberty, and his property.
Socialism, like the ancient ideas from which it springs, confuses the distinction between government and society. As a result of this, every time we object to a thing being done by government, the socialists conclude that we object to its being done at all. We disapprove of state education. Then the socialists say that we are opposed to any education. We object to a state religion. Then the socialists say that we want no religion at all. We object to a state-enforced equality. Then they say that we are against equality. And so on, and so on. It is as if the socialists were to accuse us of not wanting persons to eat because we do not want the state to raise grain.
Go read some economics, Bastiat, hayek, David Smith, but for Christ's sake please learn politics

Yes, we are determined to keep our nation as a social democracy because we believe in the freedom of the people, as well as a government that does everything it can to promote the welfare of its citizens.

Is the current government social democratic?

Yes, the nation is a social democracy, and everyone gets an equal say in what happens in their country.

What is the status of welfare in your nation?

Welfare is a very important part of this nation, since it supports the people with what they want to do, and it allows them to focus on things that apply more to their personal goals and desires, without having to worry about healthcare, college tuition, or basic needs.

Is Social Democracy popular in your nation?
Unpopular, as it represented two concepts considered anathema to the Abode of Peace: democracy and social justice. Most of those who might afford to have political opinions do not find it appealing in the slightest, and those who are actually in charge are actively prejudiced against it.

Is the current government social democratic?
It is neither democratic nor socialist.

What is the status of welfare in your nation?
Polity-wide welfare state is nonexistent (certain private subunits offer welfare programs) and not considered to be possible or affordable, but Darussalamis aren't misanthropes callous to human welfare. On the contrary, they believe that the well-being of humanity is improved not through state redistribution programs, but through the proliferation of cardinal virtues and maintenance of stability and social order.

Is Social Democracy popular in your nation? Yes.
Is the current government social democratic? The two largest parties (the Progressives and Labour) are social democratic, and they govern in a coalition along with various socially liberal and socialist political parties.
What is the status of welfare in your nation? The Van Hool welfare state is strong, and modelled heavily after the welfare states of Nordic countries, particularly Finland's. Healthcare, including preventative dental care, eye care, and prescription medication, is subsidised by the government and is free for citizens to use. While university education isn't tuition-free yet, the current Government has detailed plans on transitioning to free tuition in government-funded post-secondary institutions. There also exists in every province except Peeterhoek a Canadian-style tuition freeze policy, which disallows post-secondary institutions to increase tuition past a certain point.
