95% of human urine is water.
If you were to use evaporation and collection to purify 300mL of urine you would end up with a b o u t 250mL of urine from loss of waste and loss from evaporation process.

Drinking pure urine is not recommended but can be done. It might buy you an extra day or two at best.

The Vietnam training at Ft. Polk was about as long as that, TBF. 12 weeks of training and two weeks of in/out processing seems OK for conscripts.

Paratrooper training is explicitly volunteer because there is only one paratrooper division (the Light Division) the four parachute regiments that live inside it. If there's a pressing need to replace dead paratroopers they probably have Wartime Emergency Schedules, but in peacetime the Personnel Bureau is perfectly fine in taking its time to produce reasonable quality skyttar.

None of these guys except the paras deploy overseas, they just live in a barracks polishing their rifles or boots or tanks, then they go home and get called up in a major war with letters in the mail I suppose. So it's not like they're being shipped to Vietnam to get PTSD for freedom.
