A Platoon of Laritaian Wookiees, freshly escaped from the zoo.

Each Infantry battalion will have a platoon of snipers that can be attached to it's individual companies or deployed at the battalion CO's discretion.

He was way more like Caesar.

You realise that that Gail and the British Isles already a pretty decent road network able to a somewhat fragmented and regionally varied one. IIRC a good percentage of Roman roads in Britain were actually built on existing roadways. Yes they improved and repaired the roads but they didn't have to forge new routes or anything. Heck in some cases, particularly on the floating/bog roads they just used them as they were.

On top of the Romans building roads on top of existing ones, the British did the exact same with Roman roads long after they all left. I don't know which ones or how many, but there are a number of ancient roads and highways that are still in use today. Upgraded to modern standards, obviously.

Shoulders are the most logical place to suspend load from on a person, after that it's belt and nipples.
Modern firefighting equipment is very flexible and suspends weight in more places. It's easily the most nimble protective gear around because it needs to be and tons more development went into it.

t. work with a ton of firefighters.

And the results show it. Despite being the most burdened, the firefighter had the fastest time during the heavy gear trials.

I guess the question is: can the military learn anything from the firemen in terms of gear distribution?

Different needs tragically.
Firefighters have an immediate need for basically all their gear.
Soldiers need like 40% of it at any given time but need it at given points at time. A lot of military gear is equalized in distribution but to prevent clutter a lot of it has to just be in a spot that's off the body.

Also Firefighters are probably some of the most physically prepared individuals. I'd like to see the same firefighter in that test do the same in the other gear.

ur a scientific inquiry

Since it's not known how fit the guy in the plate is, I can only conclude that the test is flawed. Go back in time and get a knight with equivalent levels of training then I'll be happy : D

He'd be stunted so I doubt he would be anything as effective, obviously. Likely the knight overperforms since we understand that "training soldiers from childhood" is kinda dumb now.

Hey Puz

what's the cleanest way to do amputations that would result in the lowest possibility of phantom limbs? Or is phantom limb just such a wide spread phenomena that it's virtually impossible with present technology

Being trained from a young age is the exception, limited to only particularly wealthy families. That's not what I'm referring to though, even though being physically impeded as a result of such a training method is only a thing if you're basically abusing and torturing the person. There's a difference between that and living a very healthy and active lifestyle that focuses on physical fitness, which when it comes to training from a young age, was the norm.

Traditional amputation with followup low intensity laser treatment of the limb.

Or rather what's left.

Its a phenomena that's really just too little understood to stop.
70% of patients experience it at some point in their life and the 30% that don't have no particular overlapping factors that could say "hey this stops it"
The best way to remove any immediate sense of phantom limb is modern amputation methods.
It seems that individuals who have had limbs crushed or numbed or otherwise just simply lost function of the limb slowly or were able to sit with it being damaged for awhile before removal don't have it as severely but that's not always an option.

I remember reading a paper that talked about using tDCS to help relieve pain but it said that it was only short-term (~90 minutes) and varied from patient to patient

How hard? Elaborate pls.

Even if you don't manage to do much damage, I've always thought that the pain from fingers and their nails being pushed hard into the throat and the sheer amount of panic from the other person could give you the upper hand.

Question, it's chest armor that I use for my Troopers. The chest plate that is used for the Troopers is made up of a kevlar vest with 1 inch Titanium ceramic alloy plates that are fitted on the outside of the vest. The chest plate cover the chest, groin, and throat. The armor also has a layer of Heat Regulating Gel (HRG) and ballistic absorbing gel. Since I'm a FT nation (braces for incoming fire) I was wonder if this was somewhat realistic (because I'm not one of those people who comes up with the most OP shit possible) in terms of thickness of the plates for the chest piece.

Or what are some suggestions for materials that I could use instead of Titanium ceramic alloy?

a titanium plate an inch thick is going to be really heavy
