The Norinco copy, AK2000P, is a trash.

Its a Kalashnikov clone made in Russia by Izhmash, its not like they dont know how to build fucking AKs.

Ive also heard nothing about the AK-2000P being different in any meaningful way to any other PRC AK.

I honestly don't recall anyone talking about it except maybe something along the lines of "should i use rifle x or rifle y" followed by the more considered posters saying something like "it depends, context, context" or "fall of the western world" ford saying something about thick shafts and deep penetration and others yelling about how ARs/AKs suck because YouTube conspiracy theory reasons.

A question for all of you. Has any of you ever tried designing a gun the way I do it? As in you start from an idea and figure out the internals and how the whole mechanism is supposed to work and than slowly build your way outward? Basically it's a very fascinating challenge and process and I want to hear if any of you have any experiences to share about such things as it is a fun thing indeed.

Kinda sorta maybe but all just visualized in my head because I'm too crap and lazy to translate the contents of my head into a form understandable to another human in a satisfactory manner. You've seen the rubbish diagram for my straight pull Lee style rifle so you know how clumsy it ends up being.

My design structure (ie my smg/pdw thing)
Choose IRL firearm and general look (a blocky square uzi looking thing with a magazine inside the grip)
Choose a action an general functions (a open bolt off axis blowback)
Choose another IRL firearm and general look that uses action
FIgure out how to get the pieces to fit together
FInally you say fuck it all and find some fantastic nuggets to get off on

I do it from the outside in. It's easier for me to establish an aesthetic with attractive lines then figure out the internals that would best fit. If I need to change the outsides to fit the internals, I do so.
