Anime is lightly produced as it is an Asian nation. This though is the only government regulated thing.

Distribution of anime is punishable by castration and impalement.

Anime is respected as a legitimate art form and, since the influx of Asian asylum seekers from the former Greater Imperial Japanese Dystopia and her colonies, has taken off in TurtleShroomian culture and has made many mainstream appearences in media. The influence of anime in lay artistry (e.g. your average run-of-the-mill human child drawing for fun) has also been noticed. Older TurtleShroomers don't object to it.

Under TurtleShroomian law, and as for any mass media, published anime in TurtleShroom is subject to censorship for immorality, sexual content, vice, swearing, and so on.

With the rise of anime comes the issue of more beastility and even child porn. The possession of Hentai involving forced/harrassing/beastial/raping sexual themes and anime-style child porn (as with any child porn) is punishable by death.

It depends on the specific anime.

Pokémon is popular among the Satanists because it mentions Evolution and therefore gets the youth to turn their backs on God. So is hentai because it is promotes promiscuity as a positive good.

"Anime? I heard that's popular in the Japanese Republic, but personally I've never watched it."-Chairwoman Song Liyuan

Really, it's only popular in the Japanese Republic with other Republics having a mild interest in it.

Anime is fairly popular in our nation, it was extremely popular during the period lasting from the late 1970s to the early 1990s, which is sometimes called the Japanese Invasion, and many people who grew up during that era still have nostalgia for the shows they watched back then. Since the 1990s, however, it has dropped in popularity, not to say that no one watches it anymore, no some TV channels air it among other animated shows for both kids and adults and there are a few channels that exclusively air it, it's just not a huge cultural phenomenon like it was during the Japanese Invasion.

I don't know what our country thinks of anime, why don't you try and guess?

very negative, with the exception of some classic Miyazaki films. Most Pantopians view people who watch anime shows as antisocial and lazy.

A meh-ish entertainment medium from the Land of the Setting sun. Only Ranma 1/2 is revered because the gender issues hit a cultural and mythological soft-spot.

Anime is decently popular among the youth and some Eastern regions produce their own anime. We make sure to decry decadent and capitalistic foreign anime, and promote domestic proletarian anime, though.

Anime enjoys an increasing popularity in Lillorainen, especially since the 1990s. There are a few TV channels solely showing anime.
Contrary to popular belief, they are mostly shown in Japanese original dub with subtitles, although German dubs do exist.

Due to The Incorporated States of XY's culture been derived from WW2 & 1980's era Germany, Italy and Japan's all animation in our nation is classed as anime (& all comics are classed as manga). Our anime tends to be like a cross between Axis cartoons and 80's anime, features/consists of extreme graphic violence and/or the most depraved sexual acts you can imagine and are usually XY Inc propaganda and/or glorified commercials. Anime (and manga) is extremely popular (especially with geeks (otaku as we call 'em), one of the nations favourite pastimes and citizens often cosplay as anime/manga characters, buy anime/manga merchandise and attend manga/anime conventions. Very fitting when one considers that life in The Incorporated States is practically a Biotechnological, Libertarian Transhumanist, Fascist Corporatocracy anime.

As our country shares close ties with Japan stretching back over a century, our people share a close friendship with Japan. As such, Japanese popular culture, including anime, has a considerable following in our Kingdom. The local entertainment industry has also seen a boom through collaborative enterprises with Japanese animation studios and Japanese-inspired local anime/manga studios.

Our nation is composed of anime beings living and breathing among many others of the wider multiverse inhabitants of this large and mysterious world. We're sad when people perceive us in a negative light but not all art is created equal so some will like our apperances in culture and media others will not.

Anime has a small cult following among children and young adults. It is generally seen by adults as a strange, foreign hobby, and it tends to be more popular in the city than in rural areas. Because anime is almost never broadcast on cable television in Greater Adygea, it is accessed and viewed over the internet, and there are some rare cases of those who own physical media and other merchandise.

The only television program is GRWW, the state news network, and anime cannot be found there. We also do not have Internet, so people can't use that to find anime. We don't allow emigration or immigration, we don't trade with any other countries, and our border security is top-notch, so it's unlikely to be smuggled in somehow.

I would imagine that the people rather like anime depending on certain factors. Given that the nation is relatively young and has relatively few people and most of them are religious, overly sexual or otherwise extreme content probably wouldn't go over well. The current leader of my nation probably doesn't understand anime.
