Anime is unpopular and banned in our nation. It is viewed as "uncool".

It's seen as just another form of TV in our nation, nothing special. It does have a stigma for being strange or unorthodox but most people in our nation think not much of it. There are anime fans in Hatterleigh, but it isn't super big.

Only the leader is allowed to watch anime. Other than that, it is banned.

It's not illegal, and it's more popular in some areas than others. Letheny itself is pretty anti-anime, while Aldeny and Letheny's pacific colonies and territories are a little more open to it.

Anime is a joke to Poe, but Finn doesn't like it. Anime is the least watched type of program, mostly news and politics are watched instead, along with TV shows about war. As for fashion shows, they are rarely watched. Finn prefers news and politics shows, Poe prefers the shows about war.
So, watching anime has become a heated debate in the nation.

It's never been extremely popular in Dagnia, however there have been some feature-length anime films and a couple series that get the general public's attention. These are typically on the level of Akira, so if it's become popular or even somewhat well-known in Dagnia, it's likely been popular elsewhere already. People generally think the genre as a whole is either extremely violent or extremely cutesy and vaguely pedophilic.
Wait an hour, and it will be now again

In Carlist Spain, some of the known "childhood classics" are animes and mangas brought and dubbed/translated here, mainly during the era of the 80s and 90s, when cultural exchange between the Spains and Japan became the strongest. Many of these are:

1.- Cat's Eye
2.- City Hunter
3.- Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam
4.-Queen Millennia
5.- Ulysse 31

Etc, etc and etc.

Although, after the 90s and a change in Japanese animation towards a more superficial style like today's, is was when Spain altogether simply decided to cut off any anime export. For instance, "Hot Stuff", the ending of Cat's Eye second season, got position #1 for five weeks according to "El Semanal Español".

What do we think about our own cultural stuff? I presume pretty well or it would have died out ling ago.

Anime is an art from coming out from the land of Japan of the Pre-modern (or Pre-Nuclear) Era (Specifically from the late 20th century to the nuclear collapse in the late 2070's.)

Anime has survived the turmoil of nuclear destruction through cultural relics and safe keeping in Japan, as well, a ton of anime seen as culturally relevant to humanity over all and to the American people were saved in vaults in Washington before the bombs dropped. These pre nuclear anime series were saved perfectly on advanced storage devices that were kept just as pristine as others in vaults across both countries.

Ever since the resurgence of civilization, these relics of history were a very popular art medium, probably more than it was historically due to what it represented. To this day it is entirely possible for a citizen of the Commonwealth to search up and play any anime from this age on their device. But we are not content to just stick to the past, since resurgence the art of Anime has returned strong and is a very prominent form of animation, with hundreds of new shows and re-adaptions of older ones both post and pre resurgence are made yearly.

Humanity has also begun selling anime and manga to the Galactic community, while we are extremely new to the galactic community, we have interested some other species of similar levels of technology and mind into cultural exchange, and included in it is animation from both parties, hopefully Anime will be very popular with the galactic community, any break out success would be monumental quite frankly.
"Welcome to the Commonwealth! Humanities body amongst the stars! A fairly new country in the galactic community, we may not be particularly note worthy but we work hard to leave our mark."
Country Name: Commonwealth of Earth
Head of State/Government: Chancellor Frederick McDonald
Current Population: 13,000,000,000,000

A 7.3 civilization, according to this index.

Anime is popular in Japan, it`s not mean that other cultures can't make animes with their cultural aspects :)

After multiple screenings the entire theme has been outplayed by other styles, leaving the country with little sources of it.

It's a thing, some shows have been dubbed over with German dialogue but most are subbed. There's a dedicated channel for it that found it's own niche.

A forgotten, niche form of animation from Japan most prominent in the early 21st century. Not many have extensive knowledge of it other than some television/animation historians.

All legal, except for the flat-out illegal shit that some production companies abroad decide to trot out. As with most (IRL) Western societies, you have a small minority who are literally obsessed with anime, and then you have a much larger cross-section that have never really cared about it.
