Following an election in which the party that won did so via voting fraud that was exposed by a hacker who has since fled the country, tensions seem to be rising all across your nation. Violent, angry mobs have already clashed with police and presidential guard forces in the capital, and the military is refusing to restore the calm. The newly-"elected" leader of your nation has assembled his cabinet and closest advisers in order to figure out what to do.

Considering that this has a great chance to happen in U&A, most likely to be the Asporians. What would happen is a general riot started by the Uwhi population, and the conflicts would rise exponentially. The thing is that the Asporian side of the army would fight to control the Uwhi side, but at the same compass, the Uwhi side of the army would fight against the Asporian side. Considering that the situation got really ''ugly" over the capital (and considering that the capital is located over the Aspor region) the police would probably kill the Uwhi rioters under the president's order, but also they'd be stopped under the president's order too, like a move to show to the Uwhi that he "cares about them", but still, this fraud would be one of the triggers for the independence of Uwhistan, though I can't see this happening without a civil war, because the Asporian side is always trying to take advantage over the Uwhi side. The Asporian policy has been killing Uwhi for nothing since ever, so it wouldn't be different in these violent riots and etc..they would just find an excuse to do so. And considering that the Asporian have a strong influence inside Uwhi territory, an ethnic massacre cannot be discarded. omg, all because an election fraud? Yes, yahoo, imagine a people that has been subdued and dominated since ever, and when finally their candidate for the presidency has the chance to win...bayum, an election fraud.

Just to give confirmation, rejected. Your response to the prompt is supposed to be an In-Character piece, minimum 300 words but most likely more.

National information
Official Name: Republic of Crethia (Refoli af Krøtin)
Shortened Name: Krøtin
RP Population: 18,200,000
Culture and Ethnicity: The first Celtic people arrived in Crethia following the migration of early Lyonese Celts northward. The Albi (Read: Pictish-esq Celts) were the first native Celtic group and lived in modern day Crethia exclusively until Nords conquered the region in the early eleventh century. Over time, a fusion of the native Albi and the Nordic cultures and ethnic groups occurred, resulting in the creation of the modern day Crethian people. The Crethian language also has its origins in this cultural fusion. As such, Crethia is considered a Celto-Germanic state. ICly, many view it as "Celtic when convenient, and Germanic when convenient". In short, it is about as Celtic as Scotland and about as Germanic as Scotland (replace English with roughly Danish).
Government Type: Liberal Democratic Republic
Head of State: Mary Hall, President of Crethia
Head of Government: Craig Kerr, Prime Minister of Crethia
National Overview: Crethia is in many way an average country. While it has little coastline and is mostly landlocked, two powerful rivers flow through the country: the River Hvid and the River Til. Many of the country’s urban centers are on the banks of these rivers, while the rest of the country is a rural mix of flat, hilly, and mountainous terrain. Early Crethian civilization sprung up along the banks of the dueling rivers. For much of its early history, it was a series of petty kingdoms that were eventually unified by King Alexander II, often remembered as Alexander the Great of Crethia, in the 1500s. Alexander established the Kingdom of Crethia, with the capital in Donhaven. In the early 1800s, Crethia saw a succession crisis which would forever change the nation. The death of Queen Margaret left the country with no clear successor, as she was childless. Her husband the Duke of Tilvæg, her second cousin the Earl of Stratborg, and the powerful Duke of Harborg all laid claim to the throne. The crisis spiraled into a bloody civil war following the assassination of Stratborg by pro-Harborg forces between Tilvæg and Harborg's supporters. The peasantry, unhappy with the chaos that had led to a steep rise in the cost of bread, revolted under the banner of William C. Cameron, a prominent Donhaven aristocrat. Cameron established the Republic of Crethia after forces loyal to him secured Donhaven Keep and effectively secured control over the capital. The civil war ended several years later with a Republican victory following the defeat of Harborg’s forces. Certhia was then reorganized as a federal parliamentary republic and Cameron was elected as its first president, largely a ceremonial post. The country industrialized and rebuilt itself following its civil war, with heavy involvement in the economy from Cameron’s Progressive Republican Party. Since industrialization first began, there is a deep divide between the Flodlande, the urban centers on the banks of the Dueling Rivers, and the Udrelande, the rural, agrarian, and mountainous regions of the country. This divide peaked following *insert some where in which Crethia is largely reduced to rubble* and the inaction of the government. A far-leftist insurgency known as the Anarchy (place-holder) soon began and the fragile government was largely unable to resist. However, intervention from Khornea ensured liberal democracy would continue in Crethia. After the Anarchy came to an end, much less frequent leftist terrorism was carried out regularly until the 1990s. Far-leftist political parties and groups are outlawed. As the fragile coalition of Kerr approaches the 2018 general election, it is consistently battered by scandals due to his controversial junior partner, the National Alliance. The far-right party has put off many in the centre and left of centre and has provided Kerr's political enemies, the Liberals and the Social Democrats, plenty of ammunition. This has been successful thus far, as the opposition managed to make significant gains in the April municipal elections. The Coalition managed to survive the summer budget vote despite indications the Farmers' League, which has a supply agreement with the government, would not support it.
Armed Forces: Conscription is in effect. The army is largely propped up by foreign support.

Official Name: The Free State Dunmor (Saorstát Dhún Mór)
Shortened Name: Dunmor (Dhún Mór)
OL Membership: Yes
Population: 14 million
GDP nominal: $520 billion
GDP nominal per capital: $37,142
Armed Forces: 58,000 full-time and part time personal, standing army.
Map Details
IRL Cultural/Ethnic Equivalent: Irish, Scots-Ulster
Map Claim: Here
Canonical Details
National Overview:

The Free State of Dunmor could be classified as a semi-presidential liberal democracy. It's tradition of democracy takes root in the mid 19th century during a period of economic and political disorder. The incumbent monarch, King Conall II, abdicated in the face of a unconquerable national debt, rampant poverty, and political disunity. Several weeks later the first provisional Dáil assembled on the orders of Conall's first minister Éamonn Ó Corráin to set about writing a new constitution and addressing the Republican movement. In 1849 the Dáil declared the popularly supported Free State of Dunmor as a democratic state, committed to the ideas of liberty, equality, and justice. The nation's political sphere is largely dictated by three major political parties which can trace their foundation to the 1849 Revolution; Ár Rogha (lit. Our Choice, a populist center right party which seeks a more internationalist approach to diplomacy) The Republicans (a moderate leftist populist party, similar in format to the Democrat Party) and Ceartas (lit. justice, a civic nationalist party which errs more to the reactionary side of things)

History Overview:

The unified state of Dunmor emerged in the 14th century following the crushing defeat of the Tirshanan Kingdom by the forces of King Ronan I, regent of the Keep of Dunmor. With Tirshan's defeat at the Battle of Murragh, the Kingd of Dunmor were able to establish hegemony over the land with ease. In 1343 Brian I, successor of Ronan, was crowned King of the Dunmorish bringing the Dunmorish speaking (Irish) realms under a singular crown. In the 1500s, during the Era of the Reformation, the capital of Glannan became a center of Reformed theological thinking resulting in internal strife between supporters of the Catholic faith and those who wished for reform. A series of a iconoclasms and riots stretched from 1540-1560, coming to a close with the crowning of Queen Aine I. Under Aine, or more specifically her theologians, the protestant Church of Dunmor was formed under a doctrine of "Both Catholic and Reformed." Properties of the Catholic church were seized by the crown and worship was formally outlawed until 1803.

In the later 1600s and early 1700s Dunmor profited from a number of overseas company holdings, supported by a large and well protected merchant fleet. Though the Kingdom didn't maintain any extensive formal colonies it profited greatly from trade in the Neptic and Varunan Oceans. The age of wealth and prosperity in Dunmor would come to a close in the 19th century following a number of military defeats (who and exactly when can be decided later) which would force the Kingdom into a dire situation. A series of severe market crashes and growing disparity between the urbanized, industrialized centers and the poor rural communities left the Crown with little in the way of wealth or political unity. A mass exodus from the impoverished kingdom occurred in the 1830s-1840s leading to a significant diaspora in Escar and Valeya. By the late 1840s a number of Republican movements had organized throughout the nation with the aim of reform. In 1849 the revolution led to the successful creation of a republican state, the newly proclaimed Free State of Dunmor.

Though radical political change had be achieved, the country still remained relatively poor until the 1920s. Rapid industrial reformation and an influx of foreign investors from around Orda and Escar allowed conditions to improve at a steady rate in Dunmor. The Free State fought on the side of the Allies against ??? (We needa sort out EW history first), having emerged a victor it fostered strong relations with the other allied states in Orda. Post-1940 Dunmor emerged as a minor state in the grand scheme of things, though an important cultural and political center following the creation of the OU (Orda Union -- Placeholder name).

Foreign Policy Overview:

Dunmor maintains close ties with a number of nations, specifically those it fought with during the Endwar. The majority of its closet allies are states in Orda which are aligned with the OU. Dunmor also maintains friendly relations with a number of Escaric states such as Shirakawa and Meriad. The Free State choses to maintain neutral in most military affairs, favoring a role in diplomacy and mediation between belligerent powers instead.

Government Overview:

The government of the Free State is mandated by the 1849 constitution which outlines the government of the state as a semi-presidential republic. The nation is led by the popularly elected head of state, the President, and the head of government the Taoiseach who is appointed by the President. The President represents the nation both domestically and abroad and maintains a number of special privileges which allow them to assign and remove position within the executive cabinets (including the Taoiseach). The Taoiseach is responsible for the day to day governing of the nation in part with the cabinet which is jointly assembled by the President and the Taosieach. The Taoiseach is generally the leader of the most popular party in parliament but this is not always the case.

The nation's legislature, the Oireachtas, is a bicameral legislature divided between the 342 seat lower house (the Dail) and the 103 seat upper house (the Seanad). The lower house is directly elected by the people and maintains the majority of legislative power. It has the ability to amend and create laws which are then voted on by both houses. The Seanad is a mixture of appointed officials which have the ability to veto or delay laws that are passed by the lower house.

The nation's constitution serves as the supreme law of the land and has been amended several times since its inception. In addition to a list of powers and responsibilities of the branches of governments it also includes a number of inalienable rights afforded to the people (such as freedom of religion and freedom of property). The constitution grantees a confidential ballot to all Dunmorish citizens over the age of 18.

National information
Official Name: Workers' State of Austrosia
Shortened Name: Austrosia
RP Population: 42,853,207
Culture and Ethnicity: The ethnic makeup of Austrosia features no majority but a plurality for Germans and its subgroups, followed by Nordic, Celtic, and Finnic peoples (that's only the current situation - I'm more than willing to change them to fit the regional lore better). With different ethnicities living side by side for centuries, the impossible task of drawing borders that would follow ethnic lines and the apparent need for ethic cleansing to accomplish the previously mentioned goal, it has served as a catalyst for the promotion of a shared albeit composite identity in the shape of the New Syndicalist Person concept. The main language is Austroteuton, a (fictional) High German dialect that, despite its association with the previous regime and its oppression of minorities, has served as the country's lingua franca out of convenience since its inception.
Government Type: Constitutionally socialist federation under a syndicalist parliamentary system
Head of State: Chairman of the Congress of Trade Unions Waldemar Lichtenwalt
Head of Government: General Secretary of the Congress of Trade Unions Ostara Krenzelein
National Overview:
Modern Austrosia finds its inception in a total war in the dawn of the twentieth century, a conflict that with every passing day became more protracted, taking an ever-increasing toll on the civilian population and coupled with an alarmingly growing political repression on the home front in the face of fading hopes of a swift victory, it was but a matter of time until someone set the powder keg off. It’s hard to say which side first pulled the trigger, being such a politically loaded question that all parties involved have their own answers with often little if anything to do with the others’, but regardless of what the now unfathomable truth was, the country sound found itself plunged into a full blown civil war. Socialists of various tendencies, a loose alliance of various counterrevolutionaries forces, and local separatist movements fought each other in a confusing and quickly-changing conflict, making full use of the recent developments in warfare – such as chemical weaponry, aeroplanes, and landships.

Three years, millions of deaths, and untold destruction later, the self-styled Workers’ State of Austrosia emerged victorious, but the country they inherited now had little in common with the first-rate industrial power that it once was before war came to the land. Yet the early years of the new government were all but peaceful – with the most radical fringes of the counterrevolutionaries refusing to lay down arms and resorting to terrorism and guerrilla, former military commanders slowly drifting away from the new order into warlordism, and the reluctance of a new generation of leaders traumatised from the experience of the civil war to act against both those threats. From the picture painted in those last few lines, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that when in the middle of the century, war came knocking anew the country was all but prepared.

As foreign armies were crossing the border, seizing the opportunity offered by the continued weakness of the government and hoping to nip Austrosian socialism in the bud, inaction was no longer a valid course. Sacrificing the few combat ready units to delay the invaders in order to mobilise and mount a deeper defence, the war saw considerable use of guerrilla tactics – both by counterrevolutionary fifth-columnist remnants and the socialist stay-behinds networks. The invasion’s initial push finally ran out of steam when it reached the Austrosian defensive positions. From then, the tide of the war turned, with the subsequent counterattacks successfully driving the invaders out. This is where the war ended – in a stalement and a return to the status quo ante bellum.

But despite the death and destruction left in the wake of the conflict, it revigorated the once-flailing socialist Austrosia with a new breath of life. With its domestic enemies disgraced and defeated, and the people united through the experience of the struggle of the war, the way was paved for the country to reform and fix the flaws that almost lead to its downfall. Said reforms came in the shape of Sweinhardh Elsbierg, a key initiator of the stay-behind tactics in the war. His rule, which in many ways had an ambiguous relation with the democratic process, abruptly came to an end after a series of political scandal that led to his downfall and flight from the country. His legacy was a pervasive expansion of the intelligence and state apparatus, and while subsequent governments successfully scaled the former back down, their attempt at reigning in the intelligence community only achieved very limited success.

With the stage now properly set, we can move onto the modern politics and other specificities of the Workers’ State of Austrosia today.

Austrosia is nominally a confederation of thirteen commonwealths and two independent communes, but would be more accurately described as a federation. Unlike many subdivisions, they’re based on natural borders and economic regions, and openly disregarding ethnic boundaries and traditional provinces. While the terminology varies in each commonwealth and independent commune, they also share many similarities with one another owing to their shared origin. They’re vested with large legal and administrative powers within their bounds, but the extent of said authority has fluctuated over time and administrations remains one of the foremost political topic of the country. The independent commune of Staalstaat, built from the ground up starting in the 60s to serve as the permanent seat of the country’s confederal institutions, also serves as the capital city.

The heart of Austrosian politics is and has always been the Congress of Trade Unions. Serving as the country’s unicameral legislature, it’s 687 delegates are elected for four years terms through the Commonwealth Federation of Unions. As the basis of the political system, it enjoys primacy over the other branches of government. When the Congress is not in plenary session, the Presidium conducts policy discussion and make major decisions, acting as de facto legislature. The Presidium, and its leader the Chairman, are elected by the delegates from among themselves. While nominally the Presidium as a whole serve as the collective head of state of the country, the Chairman fills that role alone for convenience’s sake. Strictly-speaking there are no political parties in Austrosia as delegates are elected as nominally independent candidates, they tend to coalesce in factions based around certain political ideals.

The General Secretary, is the head of government and operates similarly to the role of a prime minister in most other parliamentary chairman. The General Secretary is elected by and accountable to the Congress. They head the Council of Workers' Commissars, the cabinet government of the country, and can freely appoint and dismiss its members without the need for approval from the legislature. Traditionally, members of the CWC have previous experience in fields related to their commissariat, giving a technocratic character to the executive branch of the Austrosian government.

A few groups must be mentioned to merely hope to paint a complete picture of the political state of Austrosia today:
- The military (further described below) and the intelligence communities get representation in the Congress through their respective unions, and their pragmatism has served both of them well in securing their continuing influence and role in the Workers’ State despite the changing times.
- The bureaucrats. Truly emerging from the centralisation resulting from the choice of Staalstaat as confederal capital, they’ve grown as necessary to the infrastructure of the expanding state as they’ve grown to be disliked by many from being nowhere near the workers’ ideal. A subgrouping worthy of note are the cybercrats, whose influence derives from their role in maintaining, updating and expanding the Cybersyn-inspired economic management system central to the Austrosian economy.

Armed Forces: Ever since nearing destruction in the middle of the 20th century, Austrosia has pursued a policy of militarisation of the country, starting from mandatory military education in schools and including universal 18-months long conscription. With a number of paramilitary organisations and regular military refresher exercises, the military is undeniably a core component of modern Austrosian society. With an ensured political presence in the Congress through the military unions, a large arms manufacturing sector whose unions get a significant number of seats in the Congress too, service being seen as a key element of the communitarian way of living and perceived existential threats to the country, the military influence isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Nearly 1% of the population is an active member of the armed forces, with a major number of reservists to be mobilized in case of a major war. Owing to its major role in Austrosia, the armed forces get a significant share of the budget. The Revolutionary Austrosian Armed Forces are a modern, well-trained and proud fighting force – one should not be fooled by the relatively average population of the country, for that it can punch well above its weight should the need arise.

Both of the prior applications are accepted. Welcome aboard!
Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

National information
Official Name: The Democratic Daklaweidian Union (Ḵu.ookhaax'w Dak̲l'aweidí Ḵwáan)

Shortened Name: Daklaweidi

RP Population: 31,842,996

Culture and Ethnicity: There is no singular, united culture of Daklaweidi -- rather, it’s made up of dozens upon dozens of isolated cultures, brought together over mutual fear of foreign imperialists. These cultures are all based on various North American cultures, with south coastal peoples being similar to the Tlingit, Tsimshian, Wakashan, and Haida, the inland peoples similar to Northern Athabaskan and Salishan, and the north coastal peoples based on the various ethnicities of the Oregon and California coasts. Unlike the real life cultures they’re based on, however, Daklaweidian cultures are much more intrinsically democratic and patriotic, often to the point of somewhat racist nationalism; the closest allegories to it I can think of might be a combination of the Deep South and South Korea. This patriotism is more prevalent in the Southern Coast peoples, and the Inlanders and North Coasters, with whom it’s less overt, picked it up from them.

Also, due to the effect of its former colonizer, the primary religion of Daklaweidi is a branch of Christianity, noted by other denominations for its nominally strict adherence to the entire Bible, Old Testament included; this practice has died off in recent years, however, and more liberal denominations have made massive inroads with Daklaweidian Christians.

Government Type: Federal semi-direct democracy under a directorial parliamentary republic

Head of State: Prime Minister Anotklaxa XXVII of Gantiyaakw; elected 1/1/17

Head of Government: The National Directory (often referred to as the Stump [Goowú]), a collection of 77 representatives from each of the local councils of Daklaweidi. The Directory acts as the highest legislature and head of government, both suggesting and passing laws based on a ⅔ approval rate. Traditionally, the Prime Minister has been elected from outside of the Directory, but after a series of contentious disagreements between the two, the last two PMs have been elected from within their ranks, despite loud minorities protesting.

Presiding over the Directory is the Director-General, who's elected to their post by the members of the Directory. Constitutionally the Director-General can tell the other Directors to do anything, and they're required to do so, but any Director-General who did would quickly be voted out, and with the support of the people as well. There role is basically limited to telling other Directors to shut up or start talking during debates. There are also the leaders of the political parties, who have no power over anything besides their party; however, they tell the party members how to vote, so they are fairly powerful and are public figures only a step below the Prime Minister.

National Overview: Daklaweidi has been populated by human civilization for at least 40,000 years. despite legends of great empires spanning across Valeya, no one ethnic group dominated until roughly 291, when the First Daklaweidian Chiefdom was created. It fell after roughly 15 years, and led to a many dynasties and fiefdoms vying for supremacy for over a millennium, including a few experiments with democracy.

In 1457, the Sixteenth Daklaweidian Chiefdom had been established for 4 years, and when [[foreign power]] discovered it and tried to establish trade connections, the shaky new government welcomed foreign allies with open arms. [[foreign power]] seized this opportunity and subjugated the Daklaweidian peoples, trying to incorporate it into its kingdom; However, huge numbers of locals were opposed to them, many to the point of outright rebellion. Instead of outright subjugation, they chose to install the most recent Chief’s nephew, who had shown himself to be loyal to the [[foreign power]] government, and backed him up with soldiers from the homeland. Through this, the puppet chiefdom stayed in power for over 400 years.

In the late 1800s, [[foreign power]] lost a war to a coalition of its enemies, and as part of one-sided post-war agreements, it lost most of its colonies, Daklaweidi included. The Sixteenth Chiefdom was deposed, and the Seventeenth established in its stead; Its leaders showed to be out of touch with its long-oppressed peoples, however. Resentment of the government simmered until 1981, when an argument between a local union leader and a rich shopkeeper over the price of salmonberries led to the union leader’s death. The government refused to indict the shopkeeper, and an enraged people took up arms in what would be known as the Salmonberry Revolution. After a 5-month revolution and the deaths of thousands, the government was deposed and a directorial parliamentary system was established.

The Easterners, who had always differed ideologically and culturally from the rest of Daklaweidi, chose to declare independence during the middle of the Revolution. Neither the fading Chiefdom nor the brand-new republic had achance of getting them back, and they stayed independent for 8 years, as they shifted from repressive branches of Marxism to outright fascism on a yearly basis. In 1989, after significant amounts of campaigning for union in the east, An offensive into the East was launched and the rebellious territory was re-won in all of 6 days.

Since then, Daklaweidi has rebounded and now is solidly first world, primarily due to a strong tourism industry and a large amount of natural resources (the questionable morality [and legality] of their extraction notwithstanding). Despite a fairly isolationist culture, recent governments have been pursuing a more outward-looking policy -- modern Daklaweidi is much more involved in global economics and diplomacy than it was only 20 years ago, and there has even been some foreign intervention by the Guard.

Armed Forces: The armed forces of Daklaweidi is formally known as the Six Daklaweidian Guards and informally simply as the Guard. While technically conscripted with a standard required service of 12 months, over 98% of the military currently consists of volunteers (due both to the ease of being exempted from conscription and a massive push in recent years towards volunteering), and the abolishment of conscription is a frequent debate in the National Council. There are currently roughly 140,000 personnel in the five standard Guards, as well as the 160,000 in the Internal Guard.

While in the past the Guard has received a large amount of the Daklaweidian budget, their funds have been slowly lowering since the Reunification of 1989, as the government shifts its focus from outright defence to diplomacy. Only the Extraterrestrial Guard, the nation’s newly-founded space agency, has had their budget increased, and only with the requirement that they would use it for the furthering of science and humanity. Nonetheless, the Daklaweidian military is still a respectable fighting force relative to its size, mostly due to a cultural mindset of constant vigilance.

National information
Official Name: The Proletarian Union of Valourium

Shortened Name: Valourium

RP Population: 68 million

Culture and Ethnicity: Potpourri of various ethnic groups, although the country historically has been more Polish/Russian-like in culture and history. Steps have been taken periodically to blend the various cultures, primarily of European sorts, with Esperanto now being the "official" language

Government Type: Syndicalist Democracy

Head of State: Presidium of the Proletarian Union of Valourium, an elected collective "president"

Head of Government: Chairman of the National Workers' Congress (oversees procedure, thus making them technically Head of Government)

National Overview: Valourium's syndicalist democracy was formed in March 1929 after a brief revolution starting at the very end of October 1928, ousting the monarchy and nationalizing the economy. This monarchist system served as a sort of window into the past of a romantic medieval society, mostly free from internal struggle, allowing for a thriving merchant and farming society built on the outskirts of lumbering pine forests and sweeping planes, drawing opportunity and health from the many rivers. They traded raw materials for the armies of foreign lands as well as some rare minerals to a limited extent. A large population allowed for the fielding of large, if not entirely professional, armies to keep foreign invaders out. Strong loyalty to the monarch so long as the wealth kept pouring in kept internal feudal struggles to a minimum. There was, however, a Russian rebellion and Polish rebellion against the legal government, which was then the Russo-Polish Commonwealth of Valourium. These rebellions are considered by national historians to be one big combined war, dubbed the War of the Slavic Brothers, which lasted from 1741 to 1748.
Today, Valourium is an industrial power focusing on heavy industry as that is what natural resources primarily allow. This also, some would say ironically, maintains the tradition of wealth through trade.

Armed Forces: There is a specialized air force and navy operated by the National Workers' Congress as well as a Red Guard, a small standing army for rapid emergency responses, well equipped with armored vehicles and artillery. The armed forces are primarily built around defending Valourium's territorial integrity. However, Valourians view large standing armies as a threat to global peace, freedom, and prosperity, and so rather than keep a large standing army, each locality is provided with its own cache of small arms, vehicles, and artillery, with drills held once yearly. Each locality, with its arms, furthermore has an established roster of people to be mobilized as soldiers during times of war as well as a pre-drafted chain of command as well as battle plans dictating the other localities' units that they should meet up with and where given the direction of hostile invasion.

RP/Writing Samples:
Königsberg, 17:00, some days later

A long column of Arbeiterschützen infantry rolls down Potsdam Road. There are no cheers. It is not a parade. Presumably, they are on their way to their capital defense station. 'Though nationalism is on the rise, many Stalhreichens still are wary of military conflict, especially when so much destruction may come of it to their dear country.

Passing by the House of the Communist Party, however, the column breaks up and begins to travel down multiple streets in the vicinity. Regulars of the Heer stand guard around the "seat of power" and stop the AS, asking them what they are doing. A few officers from the now many groups of AS soldiers walk up to those who have blocked them and say simply "Der Kolibri ist gelandet." Upon this, the guards nod, and move out of their way. It appears as though the AS have a perfect reason to continue on their current paths. They turn toward the House, however, and several soldiers materialize out of the backs of the dozens of APCs and run toward the capitol, rapidly storming in. It is at this time that Friedrich von Holtzendorff is delivering his latest anti-war speech to the Communist Party. First a thin string of clicking is made audible by the AS boots trotting across the marble floors of the House, but the thin string grows to a loud stampede as the chandeliers rattle and swing and the suave baroque interior is made to clash with the rough rigid look of the fully-geared AS combat troopers rapidly making their way toward the Chamber of State. No speaking can be heard, meaning the General-secretary obviously hears the approaching soldiers. If there is any clamoring among the Party members congregated, they surely are drowned out by the storm of Workers' Guard.

The AS troopers start pouring in through all of the three large double doors allowing entrance to the Chamber of State, surrounding all of the congregated members, and closing and locking the doors as well as stationing guards in front of them.

"Guten Tag, mein verehter Führer," smugly says a clearly prominent officer, stepping forth. It is Sturmbannfüherer Otto Hansen.

"What is the meaning of this?" asked the frustrated General-secretary.

"We are doing our job. We are guarding the workers. But not only the workers of Stalhreich, as your state's weakling policy would have. No, no, we are going to guard the workers of the world, just as our revolution intended for Stalhreich to do."

"I order you to leave this place at once. I will have anyone who does not oblige court-martialled!"

"Sorry, that is an order by which we cannot abide."

"I AM YOUR SUPREME COMMANDER, AND YOU WILL OBEY MY COMMAND." yelled the increasingly infuriated Holtzendorff.

"No. We have a new supreme commander, former general-secretary. Ah! That's right! I was supposed to tell you, we also have a new general-secretary. He is not with us right now, but rest assured, he is the new head of state. You have been issued an order to step down. If you do not oblige, you will not be court-martialled, you will be shot. As for the rest of you soft 'Communists,'" Hansen said, turning to the assembly, "You have also been issued an order to surrender the duties of the Communist Party to the NKP. Failure to oblige will result in you being shot as well. You have ten minutes to respond."

Holtzendorff pulled a pistol from his coat and aimed at Hansen but was stopped, however, when his chest was torn apart by dozens of the other soldiers standing among the assembly.

Hansen shook his head grinning. "That was a foolish move, Mr. Holtzendorff. A most foolish move indeed." He gestured to a couple of his men. "Take him out of here."

Very shortly after this, the Communist Party conducted a rather hasty vote which ended unanimously in favor of handing over state duties to the Nationalkommunistischepartei.

"Thank you very much for your cooperation," said Hansen. "This assembly is adjourned. Go home now."

Alrighty. Apologies for the slow responses, my sickness has become steadily worse and I've been juggling it, along with my rather heavy load of schoolwork and the consequences of my pre-illness procrastination.

Kvenland, you're accepted. Though I would like to know (either via TG or preferably PM on Discord) how the hell you accidentally posted a hardcore gay p*rn website on NS.
Valourium, we have a little bit more to talk about. Nothing about the application is inherently bad. I could point out a few minute grammatical errors, but I could also do that for Kvenland's application. We don't demand perfection, we demand quality and a desire to improve. What I'm more interested in is the fleshing out of your application along the lines of Kvenland's.

For example, you don't give any sort of historical context or background for your national overview. I'd like to know when and where the syndicalist government has been formed, how long has it been around, and how did it come to be? I don't necessarily need an epic tale of your nation's history since the Neolithic, but I'd prefer a bit of barebones historical context on your current political iteration and the foundations upon which it was formed.

Secondly, I'd also like a bit of elaboration on your culture and ethnicity section. Could you go into further depth regarding the various ethnic groups, how they contribute to your nation (if at all anymore), and specifically the development of Esperanto since it doesn't exist currently in Ordis and would probably be a Valourium design (so you'd also probably have to figure out exactly how you'd implement it on a wide-scale if you do plan on making it your official language).

Please edit this into your application and give me a bit of a heads-up via post here, telegram, or PM on Discord [You can find me there as Yorcke] in order for me to review your nation again.
Also, for future reference and all future and potential applications, I highly recommend proofreading your application once or twice over before posting in order to ensure that you cannot pick up on any grammatical or spelling errors before you submit it. Unless you type it up on Microsoft Word or another equivalent word processor, grammatical mistakes must be picked up manually, and from this point onward I will be significantly less forgiving regarding the presence of grammatical and spelling mistakes (including misuse of words) in applications unless under extreme circumstances. I will also be posting this reminder in the OP.

In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express

National information
Official Name: The Kingdom of Marsane
Shortened Name: Marsane
RP Population: 71 million
Culture and Ethnicity: Primarily French, specifically pre-revolution France with elements of Napoleonic France. Also Italian minority.
Government Type: Parliamentary constitutional monarchy
Head of State: S. M. I. Queen of the Marsane, Elise Theresa d'Argent III
Head of Government: Prime Minister of S.M.I's Government, Claude Haillet
National Overview:

The Kingdom of Marsane, in its modern form, has its roots in the June Restoration of 1725 which led to the creation of the current constitutional form of monarchy in place. Previous to that, the country had been ruled by a short-lived republic saturated in puritanical repression and political infighting. The death of First Consul Jean-Luc Clérico sent the republic into a free fall in 1724, leading a faction of monarchists and moderates within the nation's legislature to reach out to the previously deposed King's next of kin, Charles IX. A Khorneran backed army of émigrés, Catholics, and supporters of the monarchy arrived in Arné (the transitional capital of the Republic) in the summer of 1725 and oversaw the exchange of power. The follow months a legislature would be organized to put together a constitution for the Kingdom to abide by, one which would promise equality and representation as well as limitations on power. Marsane was engaged in a period of reconstruction from 1726-1743 under the reign of Charles IX and later his daughter Theresa II. The ability of the d'Argent restoration monarchs to restore peace and order and usher in an area of progress ensured the future of the new Mareisan Kingdom.

In the 19th century Marsane was a relatively big player in most international affairs as an industrial and colonial power. Being highly involved in the global economy the Great Depression in the 20s and 30s had a dire impact on the country. Following a syndicalist uprising in the early 1900s certain freedoms were stripped back in regards to the political process. Communism was banned outright in 1919 under the Public Safety Act, Fascism was later banned in the 1930s. Unprepared and still suffering in the wake of an economic crisis the country fell victim to invasion during the Endwar. Initially unable to organize and defend, the Maresian Grande Armée held the line in a devastating land war behind a curtain of defense's known as Henri's Shield. Surviving the Endwar, thanks largely to intervention from Khornera and allies, Marsane emerged victorious but devastated. Another period of reconstruction began with the aid of the newly formed Arkadis Entene and Ordic Community, of which Marsane had been a founding member of. Though enjoying a period of peace and growth in the 1950s the country would be rocked by yet another conflict in the late 60s during a number of 'decolonization conflicts' in the nation's remaining colonies. Decolonization came to a closure in 1970s with a number of peace treaties which saw the country relinquish its substantial claims abroad.

Contemporary Marsane, post-1970, is a peaceful nation with a high income economy and a high standard of living. Marsane still remains a relatively involved player in Orda-based affairs however its days of being a globe-trotting imperial world power are long gone.

National information
Official Name: Greater Serbia (What is your official nation name? For example, "The Dual Kingdoms of Castile and Leon".)
Shortened Name: Serbia (Something that most people know your nation by, something that tends to be shorter than its official name. For example, "Castile" instead of "The Dual Kingdoms of Castile and Leon".)
RP Population: 39 million(Less than 100 million; May be subject to change.)
GDP nominal: $675 billion
GDP nominal per capital: 20,000
Culture and Ethnicity: Serbian. Originating from the Dinaric race, the Serbian people are a South Slavic culture group. All of them speak Serbian, and typically use the Cyrillic alphabet. The people follow the Serbian Orthodox Christianity religion. Drinking and smoking are not frowned upon. The people are ethnically nationalistic, and are proud to be Serbian. (A brief summation of your nation's culture, language, et cetera. If it has a real-world equivalent, be sure to list it here.)
Government Type: Fascist 'republic', with laissez-faire economic policies. Voting rights are reserved for white Serbian people. Voting is not compulsory. There are 2 houses, and the judiciary is practically powerless, ever since the 2008 Radical Party uprising. The highest elected office is Chancellor. The highest office in the legislature is Deputy. There is a strong central party structure, where laws are typically discussed in the party's convention meetings. Then, the party leaders give the drafted laws to the lower house, and it is typically passed up to the upper house,
and, eventually to the Chancellor. (A general classification of your nation's government type - For example, Absolute Monarchy, Single-Party State, Democratic Republic. Elaborate on it as well, give some description as to how it works.)
Head of State: Chancellor Jovan Milosevic (The Head of State is the figurehead and official leader of your nation.)
Head of Government: Deputy Nikol Jovanovich(The Head of Government is usually, though not always, the second-most powerful person in the nation.)
National Overview: Greater Serbia is a fascist one-party dictatorship that is situated as a stable and mostly homogeneous country. The 2008 uprising led by the popular Radical Party, has made the nation stronger and much more centralized, capitalizing on the nationalist nature of the Serbs. Society is mostly moderate, but leaning more and more right every passing day. Women can vote, drive, and serve in the military. Alcohol, tobacco, and steroids are legal. There are no speed limits on the central highways. There is one party that holds all of the power in the nation, the Radical Party. Other parties lose support miraculously every election. Taxation is kept a handle on, healthcare is private, the military, security, corporate welfare, and infrastructure are the main expenditures of the national budget. Other white ethnic groups include the Slovenes, Bosnians, and Croats. Bosnians and Croats are de jure citizens, but are de facto treated as lower than that. The 2008 uprising has seen a large increase in emigration from the country, mostly because of Bosnians. Immigration is difficult, a strong merit-based system, with a racial algorithm to filter in white, Christian people. Individual interviews by former national security personnel help to reveal the political beliefs of a person trying to immigrate to Greater Serbia. (A brief summary of your nation's general political ideology and society.)

Armed Forces: 300,000 - Army and reserves. 48,000 - paramilitaries and militias. 45,000 - Navy. 50,000 - Air Force. The military is entirely professional, all elements of conscription and involuntary service are illegal. Consists of career soldiers. Paramilitaries and militias exist to assist in infantry and light armored duties for the army. (The size of your nation's army, navy, and air force; include in this section what sort of army you have, if it's a standing army or a drafted army.)

Personal Information
RP/Writing Samples: A snippet from the 2008 uprising. - 5 Zastava trucks park into an alley adjacent, on a dark, drizzling-rainy night. The Radical Party's paramilitary, the Legion of the White Eagle, does the covert jobs of the Party to further their cause. 20 persons in field gray uniforms dismounted and walked a block towards the armory. Junior Legionnaire Zupan recieves a call from 'Unknown Caller', the green LED screen on his Nokia burner phone lights up and he answers: 'Hey brother, open the doors.'. 4 lightly rusted steel garage doors open, and the Party's military collaborators drag out the prize: 10 small pallets of military equipment. 5 privates go to retrieve the trucks, one at a time, loading each one at 10 minute intervals, using forklifts to quickly drop in the kit. They all briskly roll out, leaving for the local Party safehouse, a meeting point for platoons of young men. Many, many more of these missions had been carried out all across the UBS, stealing enough equipment to start 8 entire divisions for the Radical Party's objective: establishing Greater Serbia. Some of the missions failed, and blew their cover, but the media hasn't yet gotten the story, probably until tomorrow morning. Policemen have been stopped in the roads, on their daily jobs, presumably a move made by the paramilitary to pacify any future government resistance, the riot police and SWAT. Instead of policemen patrolling, the paramilitary men are cruising around in their 4x4s and delivery trucks. Now the game will be on - who will win this swiftly-started civil war? . (If not available, ask for a prompt.)

Official Name: The Democratic People's Republic of Pryddain
Shortened Name: Pryddain
RP Population: 78,887,333
GDP nominal: 3,989 Trillion
GDP nominal per capital: 29,776
Culture and Ethnicity: The people of Pryddain are called the Gael, and they are further subdivided into four ethnic groups; the High Gaels, based on Scottish Gaelic peoples, the Low Gaels, based on the Irish, the Blackgaels, based on an amalgam of the Spanish and the Welsh, and the Pikts, based on pre-Indo-European inhabitants of England and Scotland.
Government Type: De jure republic, de facto one party state structured around an executive leader called the Scion, and a government leader who also acts as the Chairman for the Communist Party. They rule in equal capacity and power,
Head of State: Shahid Disglierio Adam Yorick Gutzmann, Scion for Life of Pryddain
Head of Government: Chairman Roland Glover, Chairman of the Communist Party of Pryddain
National Overview: Despite officially being out of the feudal age since the Revolution of 1908, the DPRP still has a very clan oriented society, based on the old Scionite system dating back before Christian times, a sort of caste system dividing the people into thousands of different clans or families. Since 1908 however, the clan one is in will not have an impact on someone's place in society. Pryddain is a very egalitarian society, and bases it's ideology on Christian leftism. They are known to be wary of their immediate neighbors, but are welcoming and curious about far off cultures. Pryddain itself is a very religious nation, with 98% of the country adhering to the Christian Insular creed, a unitarian anti-trinitarian sect exclusive to the island chain, and the other 2% being members of various Sufi Muslim organizations, dating back to study of foreign philosophy starting in the 900s. Remnants of paganism remain in the tiny far north islands, but this is unknown to the Gaelic layman. Culturally, Gaels see themselves as brothers in identity, ethnicity being only a marker of language and customs. They are united in patriotism for their nation, and there is little ethnic separatism. The People of Pryddain are known to be very pushy and hotheaded, but cultured and not without good taste. As to past times, Gaels have a very passionate drifting/racing culture dating back to the early 80s, and a musical tradition tied in closely with poetry and bardic tradition.
Armed Forces: The Gaelic Armed Forces number 190,800 personnel in four different branches; the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Mixed Elites, a special forces branch that as it's name suggests, uses talents from the three other branches.

Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

After a plebiscite, the population of your country voted overwhelmingly for the restoration of your monarchy that was abolished nearly a century ago. Your current administration, ardently anti-monarchist and dictatorial, yet at least overtly pro-populist, has convened a meeting of its top officials to discuss its next move. Almost no one in this meeting is in favour personally of the restoration of the monarchy, but the will of the people has demanded it. Describe the meeting in as much detail as possible.

Almost no one in this meeting is in favour personally of the restoration of the monarchy, but the will of the people has demanded it. Describe the meeting in as much detail as possible.

"Why in the bloody hell did we even hold that referendum in the first place, lads?"

Yorick Gutzmann paced the hard oak wood floor of the Grand Monastery, staring at a collection of Communist Party members and monks at the table in front of him, reaching back to where he himself could not see the people at the end. He was trying to avoid nursing a pounding headache with his fingers, attempting to look strong in front of those who considered him to be a wise leader. Still, he had to be humble and admit where he went wrong. "I do say, I think I messed up here. Letting a fringe group have some leeway is never a good idea, and it was arrogance that let me sign off on the referendum. I thought we could celebrate with the people rising up to reject the old ways once and for all with a free voice, but apparently 60% or so of the bloody nation decided that the best way to kick off 100 years of Revolutionary Struggle would be to bring back some senile old fools!"

The tall bear-like man began to go red in the face. His cadre looked at each other nervously, and Roland, co leader to Yorick, just stared at the results on a simple piece of printer paper with little reaction. "I'd say the first thing we do is simply pretend this never happened. We censored the opposition the best we could, without making it look like repression. I think we should do the same with this."

"That would spawn conspiracy theories, Roland." Yorick said with a huff in his voice, his tone breaking as he came down. As he did when he wanted his infamous anger to subside, he sat down in his velvet chair and sipped his tea. The cup shuddered in his shaking hand, so sitting down didn't work well for him at that moment. The Scion put down the cup instead, and looked directly at the Chairman. "It's not that simple, comrade."

"Oh, but it is!" A squeaky, quiet, but strained voice exclaimed from the very far end of the table. This voice, for some reason, made Yorick stop shaking for just a moment. It was a very short nun, scarcely four foot ten in height, almost standing up on her seat.

"...Proceed, sister." Yorick offered, always enjoying the opinion of a loyal layman, or woman in this case, beckoning her to come closer. "I assume you're with the Clanfard Monastery, correct?"

"Oh, yes. My name is Saorise. It is a pleasure to meet you, but I was just speaking with both Commissar Yared and Father Boath about the specific results in the Clanfard district. The people there don't know about the results at all. In fact, I only think results are reported in the north in favor of monarchy right now." The small nun stated, rustling in her files to find the specific district results, showing the Scion that the results of 78% in favor of the Monarchy would be reported in five hours.

Yorick was delighted in finding this to be true. He was absolutely giddy. Still, he had to find a way to communicate to all polling stations, and make sure no particular station rebelled. It was easiest in the majority of regions where the only polling machines were at monasteries, but the secular polling stations were unreliable, disposed to supporting a 'democratic' solution. "I need police activity increased to great and new heights near areas of high monarchy support. Otherwise, ask every monastery in the nation to report a win for revolutionary struggle, a loss for reactionary efforts." He asked Roland, who nodded and made a couple calls after he stood up and went into another room.

"Now, that was simple, wasn't it?" Yorick said to nobody in particular as he stood up as well, drinking his now cold tea all in one go. He felt the invigoration of the strong black tea through his body and felt a new energy come through him, a courage that could let him proclaim, however false, that the people soundly rejected the reactionary forces and voted 70.7% in favor of keeping him in power.

"And have a happy Hundred Year Revolution, proletariat."

Welcome aboard, Pryddain!
Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

Postby La Savie » Tue Feb 27, 2018 1:14 pm

National information
Official Name: The Republic of Savie
Shortened Name: La Savie
RP Population: 8 million
GDP nominal: $512,000,000,000
GDP nominal per capital: 64,000
Culture and Ethnicity: La Savie is a new world creation, fashioned from the cultures of incoming Etrulian colonists, African slaves, and the native - oppressed - Arab populations. Culturally, La Savie is a mix of Miami, Las Vegas, and a bit of Long Island. Of course, all speaking Italian and French Creole.
Government Type: De Facto Autocracy, de jure parliamentary republic.
Head of State: Solomon Haus
Head of Government: Giovanni Luciano
National Overview: La Savie started out as the dream of Cirano Pardini, an Etrulian explorer and poet who came across the Safi oasis/bazaar deep in the torrid deserts of north Osova. With a bit of guile and scheming, he officially purchased the oasis from the local Sheik for just one pound of butter. Since then, La Savie has been a multicultural financial and trade center with virtually no business regulations. This has resulted in La Savie gaining notoriety as a sin-city, with casino, prostitution, and drug rackets moving in with impunity. In the 1940s, La Savie gained independence from Etrulia, and its first President, businessman Solomon Haus, cracked down hard on dissident elements, building a cult of personality around himself and funding an extensive Metropolitan Gendarmes - staffed by men loyal to him. In 1974, under the guise of good will, he dissolved the military and brought its assets and personnel into the Gendarmes. Since then, Haus has created a modern oasis in the desert. It has since expanded territoriality at the expense of its Arab neighbors, having seized a coastal city (for Haus' personal desire for a coastal beach resort), considerable oil fields (with which to supplement Savie's income) and a strategic mountain controlling water flow to Savie's neighboring countries (with which to hold them diplomatically hostage).

Today's Savie is a bustling financial and tourist attraction. It has several world-class hotels and entertainment venues. It is a global center of the theatrical arts, a major sex tourism destination, and attracts businessmen wanting to sign business deals and then get shit-faced drunk. La Savie has traditionally drawn people in via its casinos, but has since expanded to build several sunny beach resorts and even a (does Disney exist?) Disneyland for those interest is less carnal pleasures. Though it has historically had a major crime problem Haus' Elite Metropolitan Gendarmes have since cracked down tightly in crime infested areas, and tourists are often seen taking photos with edgy NCR-ranger/Jin Roh Kerberos Panzer Cops style armored police men. The major crime families, the Pizzimentis, the Bramantes, the Velázquezes, and the Zhou Triad, have all since been forced to swear loyalty to Haus and indulge in less disruptive forms of international crime.
Armed Forces: Officially, as per a 1972 treaty with its neighbors, La Savie has no official armed forces. The Savese Metropolitan Gendarmes are the de facto armed forces of La Savie, however, and maintain all of the organizational structure and equipment of a full-fledged military force. The Metropolitan Gendarmes are highly militarized as a police force, able to call upon military-level assets if necessary. The active Metropolitan Gendarmes are a completely professional, volunteer force, though all male citizens undergo six months of combat training in the event of an armed struggle against Savese enemies. The Metropolitan Gendarmes recruit extensively from formerly Etrulian Osova for mercenary soldiers, as well as from elsewhere.
