That depends - what if the teleportation system is either not developed/in developed, not viable to use due to other reasons (for example energy consumption or maintenance costs - things tend to get broken on warships) or simply not possible?
Then, at a ship several kilometres long, a railway would make sense. See for example Star Wars' Executor with it's long main shaft running along the entire length of the vessel (which played a vital role as it came to the Lusankya and Operation Emperor's Spear during the Yuuzhan Vong War... which is now retconned).

That depends - what if the teleportation system is either not developed/in developed, not viable to use due to other reasons (for example energy consumption or maintenance costs - things tend to get broken on warships) or simply not possible?

Then you don't build a ship that's 24.8 kilometers long.

It's clear that the ships in question are soft-FT and not meant to be realistic, though, so I'm not sure there's much value in even debating this.

Considering both your statements, our ships do have railway systems, which take inspiration from the monorails from Wall-E. We may be a highly advanced civilization, but our teleportation abilities are limited in comparison to the forerunner from halo. Most of our teleportation is usually used for transporting troops from ship to planet. Teleportation within our ships is limited to specified rooms like bridge - hangars - etc... through a gateway and there isn't many of these.

Getting obliterated by anything flying, because it has no air defenses at all except for the machine guns I guess.

I think he said " good to add", not "good at", but the premise I assume is "remove torps, add AA assets".

Yes, that was my error.

But more or less, yes. The torpedoes don't have to be removed, just replaced with something more useful than Shkval. And probably lighter and smaller too.

And some basic AA assets. Even just a MANPADS mount would be an improvement, but ideally something at least in the range of Crotale.

Does anyone happen to know how many ESSM missiles the CEROS 200 radar could be expected to guide at once?

Or more broadly, does anyone have a ballpark range from comparable systems of how many hypothetical, similar-range SARH SAMs with mid-course update could a hypothetical, similarly sized illumination radar guide at once?

Is "each illuminator can guide 8 missiles toward 4 targets" excessive or underwhelming?

A half-hour of google digging on this question has turned up nothing and all I need it for is a brief sentence in a factbook.
