No. It was simply not designed for this. The best defense for a submarine is stealth, and K-222 is very deficient in these areas relative to Seawolf and Virginia. Speed is no substitute for this. Which should hardly be surprising given that K-222 is an early 1960s design being compared to a late-1980s design and a late-1990s design, both of which are substantially larger (which leaves more room for combat systems and acoustic damping measures).

Unfortunately IRL hitpoints are determined by displacement. So you don't have many hitpoints and thus your navy is weak.
