While the Greater Siriusian Domain discourages such conflicts, some species within the confederacy tend to have heated relations. The most notorious species rivalry is between the En'gari and the Araset. Before either species joined the Confederacy, the En'gari and Araset were actually at war, although calling it a war is an injustice to conventional armed conflicts - En'gari brotherhoods militarily bullied the Araset for sport and Araset privateers would raid En'gari trading stations and shipping convoys. The Greater Siriusian Domain is composed of multiple smaller member states semi-independent from each other. Many of these are made up of individual planetary system-states, but a small handfull are small interstellar nations in their own right. These include the Araset Protectorate (formerly a mafia-style protection racket that managed to bring itself to power, located in the Fomalhaut and Alpha Centari systems and occupying all systems between these two stars), the Star Empire of Vegonus (a kingdom encompassing the Vega, Mizar and Gemma systems and all systems within these borders), the former United Brotherhoods of the En'gari (closest example would be the Klingon Empire from Star Trek, with brotherhoods being the equivalents to houses and the heads of each brotherhood representing their own brotherhoods on a council, once located in the Arcturus, Altair, Al Nair and Epsilon Skorpii systems and all systems within these borders) and the Siriusian Confederacy of Worlds (a system very similar to the current Confederacy of the Greater Siriusian Domain, with its borders ranging from Sirius to Achemar, to Delta Virginis, to Denebola, to Procyon and Merak, to Alioth and Megrez, and back to Sirius.
