In 1963, the formerly CRA friendly president of the republic François Tombalbaye was overthrown in a military coup by Félix Malloum, a hard line anti communist leader who cut ties with the CRA. leader Takeda Shengin of the CRA decided the best course of action was to begin operations to either link up with anti Malloum communist rebels and help them seize back power,get in contact with Tombalbaye and have him attempt to sweet-talk Malloum into resigning,or assassinate Malloum. All three options would inevitably be used in the assault, which began Operation Rusty Spatula on June 19th,1964.

The Original Plan was for a total of 30 agents to land in the nation of Chad near the capital to fire up support for the communist rebels, working with them to disrupt communication lines and sabotaging transport. When the Men and women picked for the assignment was assigned,it turned out that they had not only hired two bunny rabbits that took the place of a pair of agents that were too drunk to make it,but also that 7 of the 30 agents decided to chicken out or were disqualified for not speaking "Chadian" (it was unknown at the time what the national langauge of Chad was) And so with only 21 agents had arrived for the mission, but that the number of planes had been dobuled from one single plane to as many as seven different planes,including an aging bi-plane that when the mission as launched and took off, it crashed into the sea and drowned both agents in them. They were now down to 6 planes along with 19 agents and the mission had barely started.

The planes soon found out that they did not have enough fuel, and so a modified fishing trawler had been sent three days ahead of schedule into a position near Maurintania for a refueling of the planes,to which the secret agent filled airforce never saw due to heavy cloud cover ,and so the hodge podge of forces was set down near Guienia,to which the furious Guienian leader gave them 12 hours to leave the nation. And so, with only 2 hours of sleep, the force lumbered back off into the night for a long, long flight.
On the morning of June 21st, the number of planes had been cut severly, with two planes crashing in the darkness on ground,leaving just four planes and nine agents readied. By that time, They had finally arrived at one of the predetermined landing points,which turned out to be a trap that the Chadian Government of Malloum had laid out, with the air chatter of the pilots and agents being heard over Niger and passed onto Chad's military forces. All four planes were grounded and their crews arrested and interrogated,with them spilling the beans of Operation Rusty Spatula,making the Chadian government furious at the CRA government.

Following this failure, the Revolutionary Intelligence Service (RIS) decided to have another go at overthrowing Malloum,with the option of attempting to contact Tombalbaye, who was leading a resitance government in exile in neighboring Sudan. They decided to prepare 40 agents instead of the 30 beforehand, and set out a plan, with a single Portugese Ocean Liner named Funchal to sail the force to Sudan in order to link up with the resitance government and plot out a plan of strikes across their boarder.

This Operation was code named Operation Blue Dice after a combination of the last part being the casino in which the 29 men frequented and the first part being the sudanese brothel that the 11 women used.
The 40 agents that were chosen were made up mostly of old men and women, with the youngest being a retired military vetran of the civil war at age 57, and the oldest being a 95 year old former parachuter. The median age of all the agents being around 61. The force soon entered the harbor after a three week journey on August 4th,1964. The agents now had to make their way across Sudan, and problems soon erupted. After a misunderstanding over a drink, three of the agents were arrested after getting a drunken bar brawl along a coastal town. The force split up into five different groups of a seven of people in each. The first group hijacked a car,but were then killed in a police shoot out early next morning. The second group rode on a bus,but it got stuck in deep mud,and the agents panicked and shot the driver then themselves when they mistook a tribal funeral procession for police forces coming to help the bus. The third and fourth groups decided to give up halfway to the boarder, but the fifth and sixth groups were the only ones that managed to make it to the boarder. They acquired several rusting machine guns and a few ancient ford trucks and drove off to invade Chad. The First group got over the boarder but were forced to walk when the car broke down 5 miles into the boarder. As that force continued it's progress through the nation, Several Chadian soldiers arrested them and were taken to a prison,where they stayed until 2005.

The Strikes soon led to confusion mostly on the CRA's agents,with a limited understanding of the Sudanese local languages and with some even ending up fixing a few road signs to the right way.

A final attempt was launched on October 9th,1964,with the direct attempt to sweet talk Malloum already fumbling up with 13 of the 20 agents dying in the single engined bi-plane that was launched fifty years prior. The remaining seven then walked,with surprising ease, into N'Djamena and tried to convince Malloum to resign,and when he refused to, the men tried to shoot him, but the guns jammed and his guards arrested and executed all but 3 of the 13, with those three escaping and forming several resistance groups in the southeastern corner of the nation.
Tombalbaye had already seen the expertise of the CRA's forces in action, and with their now failure of not only operation Rusty Spatula but also this recent blunder of Blue Dice,decided to ask The People's Republic of Peru, the CRA's southern rival,which succeeded in ousting Malloum in 1965 in a bloodless coup.
Tombalbaye led the newly established People's Republic of Chad until mid 1982,when he was forced to set up the Democratic People's Republic of Northern Chad in the north of the nation when a counter-coup that year made him flee out of the capital and head to Faya,sparking a civil war from 1982 to 1993.
